Had a great time listening to remastered versions of Bowie’s classics plus some new ones that I’d not heard before. It has a psychedelic electro soul which puts me in mind of “war of the worlds musical”. Blooming brilliant
This album is brilliant, silly, fun. My ex girlfriend used to love it and it reminded me of the good times with her. So much fun
Another awesome selection from the generator. We do just what I needed in the band I’m in. Love the cars. Such feel good music
Weird fun vocals awesome guitars. I only knew one track before hearing this “this town ain’t big enough for the both of us” really enjoyed hearing this for the first time
Wow! When they said tragic they bloody meant it. It’s a dark humour teamed with some classic country and western close harmony singing. I don’t normally like this style of music but there were so many times that I swore from the shock of the stories that I got to give it a high rating.

I already know I love this album. My favourite Oasis album by far. It reminds me of the 90s and how I didn’t understand the visceral darkness of the rock and roll lyrics when I first heard them
There’s some really experimental tracks on this one all with a vastly different feel of American culture. Was an interesting listen but not hugely my cup of tea
This album is brilliant, silly, fun. My ex girlfriend used to love it and it reminded me of the good times with her. So much fun
I had heard some talking heads tracks before but never sat and properly listened to them till now. I love the lead singers atonal wails, and each track on the album paints a landscape of a dreary industrial area with an unusual element to keep me interested. Favourite track is either air or the dancing for money outtake. I’m not sure why they never finished dancing for money with proper lyrics because it felt almost finished but it made me smile to see the creative process raw like that
Another awesome selection from the generator. We do just what I needed in the band I’m in. Love the cars. Such feel good music
This album feels like a dreary mixture of 70s synth cop music mixed with talking heads weirdness. Once in a lifetime is probably their best known track but it feels so different to the rest of the album. Still enjoyed hearing it but not my favourite album of theirs
Country rock about being American and having your barn burn down. Some really awesome use of 7ths and unpredictable chord changes. Pretty cool band. Completely new to me. Love the first track across the great divide
Super unique feel to his music. It seems to be all tuned the same way with open strings. Love his voice although I couldn’t tell you what he’s saying. Makes me think of cold night in the desert
There are some really amazing tracks on this album- I love zero, tonight tonight and 1979 but this album is long and it has a depressing feel to it which means I had to listen to it in 4 sittings. The tracks can go for 6-10 minutes sometimes so that took the score down a little
The doors go bluesy. Didn’t realise how much I like the doors as I scarred myself as a child by listening to some of Jim Morrison’s drug fuelled poetry and therefore avoiding their music aside from the well known tracks. Enjoyable to hear again
I’m 100% not the intended audience for this album. I’ve never really been a fan of rap but I can appreciate when it’s good. I feel bad giving it such a low rating. I like the background to the lyrics and can understand the rhymes which quite often I can’t in most rnb. I felt like it was thought provoking. Favourite track was testify. Just not my style of music
Yet another wicked album- classic psycho killer track but upbeat vibes on the whole album. Love it
Weird fun vocals awesome guitars. I only knew one track before hearing this “this town ain’t big enough for the both of us” really enjoyed hearing this for the first time
I should like this album but there just something musically that I couldn’t connect with. Perhaps it’s the country and western influence perhaps it’s the eyebrow raising triad. It’s experimental but of it’s era. The vocal lines are tight but there just a dreamy quality that comes off as dreary. I quite liked hearing them have an argument on the last track. Which again speaks to me not connecting with the band. I didn’t hate it all but there was nothing for me to jam to
This live album shows how Cash connects with the people he performs for on their level. He was cool, funny, rebellious to authority figures and genuine. This was played at a penitentiary and the prisoners were clearly having such a good time.
Lyrically beautiful and sad. Folk guitar and a slightly monotonous droney voice (sort of Bob Dylan style). I can see why people enjoy Cohen but honestly felt like quite a depressing album to listen to. I’d have to be in the right mood for this one.
Took a while to get into this one. The last 3 tracks really stand out to me. Did enjoy listening

Love it- knew I loved it before I listened to it. Listened to it twice. Totally pumped for work
I love bob Dylan’s lyrics but I just don’t like his voice. I listened to this album on YouTube and the quality of the recordings were so terrible I couldn’t hear the lyrics even on full blast. Fav track the highlands. I feel like that’s classic Dylan
This album is described as their most accessible in the Wikipedia. It’s pretty odd almost like beat poetry. It was interesting to listen to. I do love the electro style and the guitar work but I probably won’t delve further into their less accessible stuff
This was an uncomfortable listen as dischord and wild shouting coals feature heavily. That said the music was technically very interesting almost jazz like drum rhythms and even a 3/4 time structure in there just made it more interesting for me. I felt like it would have been a great soundtrack for a horror movie
I’d heard of Briann Eno and only knew one song. I really like his Brit pop style and he reminds me of Mark Bolan from T Rex’s voice and David Bowie lyrically and slightly in style. I really enjoyed the album and will seek out more of Eno’s work in the future
Love the blue tracks on this album. Lots of fun. Riders on the storm classic track on this one.
I want you gave me goosebumps. This album has a Beatleslike feel but there’s some tracks in there that are just amazing. I’m gonna listen to this again
Somber orchestral ballads. I didn’t hate it but was a bit disappointed this wasn’t from their disco era. I didn’t know they had such a different style before that. So interesting but wouldn’t really listen again
Irish classic feel good mixed with some American blue swing- love fiesta. Great fun and energy
Feels like the talking head but with more of an Irish instrument choice hits liked it
Feels like a political bob marley- it’s been a while since I listened to reggae. Nice a chill on a warm day vibes
This album is kinda cheesy now- reminds me of when people had 80s street dance offs with cardboard on the ground. But there is some important black culture here and I did enjoy hearing it. I can see Will Smith borrowed heavily from them too
Electro punk feminist- I quite enjoyed it. I couldn’t decide if it was trying to be edgy or actually was edgy. But still a lot of fun
Each song was a short angry carcophany. The guitar work and drums were good but honestly had no idea what the vocals were saying. I would have scored it higher if there was more variety in the songs but honestly by the end I could barely tell one song from another
60s choral psychedelic pop- alien references that made me smile. Worth a listen
Classic album- I’m only happy when it rains and stupid girl reminded me of being a preteen again. However they have a dreariness that the rest of the album drags. Not my favourite style of music unless I’m in the mood.
This was an awesome intro to elbow. I will be looking at more of their stuff because I love their style. The fix is brilliant as is grounds for divorce
Classic - loved hearing papa was a rolling stone. Really funky. And surprised to hear “the ni**as are coming”
Is it rock a billy? Is it punk? Is it blues? Kinda all three. Laughs and energy. Good fun
This is a really nice slice of Doors music. If you wanted to know if you like the Doors this would be a really good place to start before diving into their deeper stuff. Classics and some semi weird stuff without it getting too weird. Very enjoyable.
Listened to this when I was a preteen and it was nice to revisit. Because I was listening in YouTube I got to see some awesome videos too. Fun vibes - girls just wanna have fun and time after time are my favourites
This album is a childhood favourite. Reminds me of long car journeys with my Dad. Great to hear it again and sing along to every track
All instrumental experimental jazz- very technical. Had a feel of a film noir detective movie. Really enjoyed the drum solo on “blues for Huey” and the weird twist of “ingo pow-pow” at the end
Hippie Gregorian chant with some blues tracks thrown in. It was ok but not my cup of tea tbh
A blend of traditional Algerian, 90s pop, rock and blues. This was super fun to discover. Made me dance my pants off :)
Early Bee Gees before their disco era. It was ok but didn’t particularly move me.
Had quite a rock feel to the beginning but don’t get me wrong and brass in pocket had me singing at the top of my lungs
Motown love song vibes. Classic temptation feel. Stronger and longer rhymed heaps. Liked it but didn’t super vibe with it
This is lounge jazz music not my style kinda cheesy. The thing you would hear in the background of a home makeover show
Joni has a really individual sound and a beautiful range on her voice. I understand why so many people like her but I don’t think I’m in the right head space to enjoy her today. May try this album again later
Frampton's guitar work is so lovely. He sounds great live. Will seek out more
“Tainted love” and “say hello wave goodbye” are on this album; which are absolute classics. Quite a lot of filler tracks for me on this one but “sex dwarf” just made me laugh so hard I had to rate it higher.
Slow, broody dreamy vocals. Sad chill out vibes. Quite liked “Pictures of me”
Bodhisttava is hands down the best track on this album. It’s a lot of fun- feel good album. Not heard this album before but know the big steely Dan tracks. Good fun
Weird- but I think I like it. Vocals are squeaky and it has a psychedelic thing happening. The dischordant breaks are not for me but there are a few tracks I went back to and listened again because I’m not sure if I like them or not
Short raw funny and of it’s time. I really enjoyed it
It’s discordant and absolutely horrible to listen to. But it does interest me. I don’t speak German so whilst listening I’m googling what this album is about. I wouldn’t listen again and I had to sit in discomfort to get through it all but that’s not to say that what it is trying to achieve (depictions of war and pain) is not effective
It’s not bad- it is as described: ambient background noise. Gave me an unreal feeling of being a sims character whilst listening and going about my day
I really feel like there is an amazing blend of loud and soft, hard and gentle, dis chord and melody and poetic and beastial lyrics. It’s not easy listening but this album is a work of art.
Most of this album is on Michael’s greatest hit album so I’ve heard this album without actually hearing it before. So good! I already knew it was gonna be in my 5 * before I started and it is genuinely classic
George Harrison has such a happy loving feel to his music. I realised that most of my favourite Beatles songs hold his influence. It’s has “my sweet lord” which is one of my favourites. It ends with some awesome blues tracks. Really enjoyed it :)
Has to be listened to loudly. Very raw, screams and softness indie punk. I wanted to like this more than I did because I had heard of the band and knew of its cult status but it didn’t really hit home for me
This is 80s Simply Red which is awesome because I only found them in the 90s. It’s got “moneys too tight to mention” which is such a jam and blues tracks too. It’s nice to see how the band developed; I had to listen to the stars album straight after
I used to think of Iron Maiden as super heavy metal but having listened to this is just fun fast and melodic. I listened to this album twice through today because I enjoyed it so much
Brilliant guitar licks amazing bass, rocking out good feels. All killer no filler :)
I had no idea how many of these classic Christmas songs came from one album. It was a bit weird listening to this 3 days after Christmas but it still was great to hear these songs in context. I did some reason assumed that they were all one hit wonders like so many other Christmas songs
This album is apparently one that sound techs use to figure out their balance. There’s heaps to it and the nostalgia for me is massive. I remember my Dad pulling out the vinyl gently and enjoying dancing around with hun when I was a little girl
Drone folk music with unusual instrumental choices - sitars and harpsichord with pan flutes. It really wasn’t my jam. It reminded me of torturous open mics I’ve sat through in the past
10cc have such an interesting sound and a huge amount of range to their style. The jaunty narratives of this album were so good.
90-00 Indie Brit rock. I loved super grass as a teen but had only heard their more pop style not the rock. It was a great trip down memory lane for me and started me listening to other stuff that I used to love like the manic street preachers and razorlight
I enjoyed this album a lot more than o thought I would. American pie is of course a classic but the full version is looooong. You just have to get right into it. I loved the track “everybody loves me what’s the matter with you?”
70s rock/blues with some good covers in there. Raw but average
Cowboy songs about Mexican gals and outlaws. Super fun!
Dark and beautiful indie and grungy. The soundtrack to a lot of my childhood. Love hearing this from an adult perspective
Wasn’t at all expecting to like West’s music because of the controversial bollocks he comes out with but I have to respect rhyming sarcophagus with oesophagus. He’s funny. I think he knows he’s an arse hole and is unapologetic about it. He’s got a really good grasp of rhythm and can turn simple Melodic lines into something really beautiful. I actually understand why he is famous now.
Breathy moody drone. Sad whines. Honestly didn’t really enjoy this. Most of the album sounded the same.
It’s a strange album representing the wide range of popular styles at the time - country, soul, rock, Motown, folk, jazz. It’s a bit of everything. Feels like it could be a cover band but it isnt
Crosby chooses to use his voices as an instrument rather than concentrating on lyrics. It’s interesting to listen to but there is a lot on “bum da da da ooh ooh la la”s and I struggled to concentrate through the whole album
Dad rock with some nice vocal harmonies. Truckin’ is hands down the best track.
Reminds me a lot of early Metallica. Lots about gothic themes and Satan. Pretty good if you’re in the right mood
I can’t work out how I feel about Leonard Cohen. His voice is certainly unique. I don’t hate it but I don’t exactly love it either. The songs are a bit cheesy but I think with better vocals and arrangements they could be amazing.
Ocean is funny soulful and a skilled rapper. I can’t believe I haven’t heard of him before.
This was the start of when pop became rock. Now it’s seems pretty tame but it tells of an era when the teenager was made and it makes me smile
ELO are probably one of my favourite bands. You know their music instantly without having heard it before. It’s big interesting and uplifting. Most of the tracks on this album are on their greatest hits. Had a great time
I like it when Adam rocks rockabilly style more of that please. His country ballads are nice but I prefer the faster stuff
The guitar feels like chilled Spanish style, the drums softly grooving in the background with lovely call and response vocals. Nice relaxed vibe. I have no idea what the songs are about but it doesn’t matter
