You've Come a Long Way Baby
Fatboy SlimSounds like a GTA radio station if they couldn’t get the rights to anything good. Favorite track: “Gangster Trippin”
Sounds like a GTA radio station if they couldn’t get the rights to anything good. Favorite track: “Gangster Trippin”
Peak swamp rock. Also the word “chooglin’” needs to become popular again (if it ever even was) Favorite track(s): “Born on the Bayou” and “Keep on Chooglin’”
Really weird album, but really enjoyed it. All over the place, but still coherent enough to be a really fun experience. Favorite tracks: “Zen Archer,” “Onionhead/Da Da Dali,” and “Medley:....”
I acknowledge that Supertramp can come off as kind of cheesy sometimes do to the production, but I have always really enjoyed them. Some really excellent musicianship and honestly the have some really unique ideas. Really fun to listen to an album of theirs I had never heard before. Favorite tracks: “If Everyone Was Listening” and “Crime of the Century”
This album started out on a high note and went on to reach an even higher note. It’s like a weird combination of jazz and folk. Some songs are some great jazz fusion, while others sound straight off a Jethro Tull album. Thoroughly enjoyed. Favorite Track(s): “Glad,” “Freedom Rider,” and “John Barleycorn”
Found myself enjoying the album more as it went on, but overall just ok. Thought it was a bit cheesy, but there’s some great story telling on there. Favorite track(s): “Me and a Gun” and “Winter”
Peak swamp rock. Also the word “chooglin’” needs to become popular again (if it ever even was) Favorite track(s): “Born on the Bayou” and “Keep on Chooglin’”
There were some great moments musically, but I found myself having trouble getting through it. A large part of it is the guy’s voice... at times it sounds like he’s so stoned he’s struggling to even stand in front of the mic, let alone sing. Also, I would describe his singing style as “apathetic” Favorite track(s): “Little Faith” and “Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks”
A classic. It is definitely not the best Zeppelin album, but there is not a bad song on here and JPJ really shines. Just an all around great, hard hitting rock album. Favorite track(s): "Lemon Song" and "Bring it on Home"
Really nails that quiet, soft, early morning feel. It’s light, but not exactly lighthearted. Favorite track(s): “Mood Indigo”
Is it possible to not have a good time listening to this album? Nonstop groovin’ from start to finish and it’s infectious. Favorite track(s): “Unfunky UFO” and “Give Up the Funk”
On the whole, I definitely liked it better than the majority of the rest of Nirvana’s stuff. Still didn’t care too much for it, but much more palatable. Favorite track(s): “Dumb”
Liked the first half better than the second, but overall a good album. Favorite Track(s): “Papa Was A Rollin Stone”
This album feels like a big jam session and I love it. I love the use of horns and percussion and Ginger Baker on the drums is a great time. Now if only I could understand what he's singing about... Favorite Track(s): "Black Man's Cry" and "Ye Ye De Smell"
Mick Jagger’s voice ruins The Rolling Stones. Fight me. The quality of the instrumentals and lyrics are the only reason I didn’t yank this album.
A very soft and intimate album... Like you're sitting in someone's living room or around a fire and listening to them tell you stories. Thoroughly enjoyed. Favorite Tracks(s): "Silver Dagger," "House of the Rising Sun," and "Henry Martin"
Solidly ok. Favorite Track(s): “A Case of You”
I have to be honest, I had to just skim through this album because I really did not like it. Now I need to go cleanse the palate with some King Crimson or something. Favorite Track(s): “Friendly Skies”
That was a wild ride. A good time, but not one that I think I'll go on very often if ever again. Favorite Track(s): "Sweat Loaf" and "Graveyard" (the second one)
Eh... not my favorite. Some cool sounds going on, just not the kind of thing I feel like sitting down and listening to a whole album of. Favorite Track(s): “Morganspaziergang”
How could you not love the song “American Pie”? The rest of the album isn’t quite that same caliber, but it’s an enjoyable listen. Favorite Track(s): “American Pie,” “Winterwood,” and “Empty Chairs”
Top tier album. The variety of sounds on here and the quality of every song are amazing. Favorite Track(s): I honestly love each and every song on this album for various reasons, but “A Day In The Life” takes the top spot
Definitely not my style, but it was an interesting listen. This style of rap is more palatable for me and I appreciate the lyrics focusing on political and social messages as opposed to sex and drugs exclusively like that Missy Elliot album. Favorite Track(s): “The Nigga You Love To Hate” and “The Bomb”
Eh... it’s ok. Not a huge fan of how short and disjointed most of these songs were after you got through the talking, but there are some decent ideas on here Favorite track(s): “Cocaine” and “Salty Dog”
There are some good sounds on this album, but it feels kinda sleepy to me... I also don’t dig his voice, but there are a couple good songs on this. Favorite Track(s): “Dealer” and “Couldn’t Love You More”
I was really hoping this wouldn’t be an entire album of Karma Chameleon clones..... and that’s basically what this is. So incredibly cheesy and utterly bland that it honestly was hard to get through. Glad I at least heard the orchestral piece at the end, because that made the suffering a little more worth it. Favorite Track(s): “Romance Revisited”
Not a bad album, but definitely not something I think I'd ever go back to. There were some fun songs, but punk just isn't my thing Favorite Track(s): "I Need Somebody" and "Death Trip"
My only real negative note is how repetitive the songs are, but at the same time, they kind of use that to add effect. Incredible album. Favorite Track(s): “Born Under Punches,” “The Great Curve,” “Once In A Lifetime,” and “Houses In Motion”
This one had potential, but what ruined it for me was the constant harsh synth sounds on repeat and the sucky mix. You change those a bit and I think it’s actually pretty decent, aside from how painfully repetitive the music is. Favorite Track(s): “Che”
It was fine. Some moments better than others Favorite Track(s): I was lazy on this one and didn’t pay that close of attention
Not a huge fan of Nirvana, but not a terrible album. Probably won’t go back to it, but there were some good tracks on it Favorite Track(s): “Heart-Shaped Box” and “All Apologies”
I don’t quite think this should be a 4, but I went back and forth on going higher or lower and finally settled on giving it the four. There were plenty of cool songs on here and the others were solid jams, but not the most interesting. Solid album. Favorite track(s): “Black Magic Woman,” “Mother’s Daughter,” and “Hope You’re Feeling Better”
Really great album. Great straight up rock songs, but the addition of a powerful brass section adds a cool flair to many of them. Then there’s those free form jams that are interesting. Really great stuff. Favorite Track(s): “Introduction,” “Listen,” “Poem 58,” and “I’m A Man”
(No notes since I'm playing catch up)
At times this album felt almost too relaxed, but there were other times where I was really jamming with it. Solid album, but not quite good enough to make me want to listen to more Dire Straights Favorite Track(s): “Water of Love,” “Southbound Again,” and “In The Gallery”
Definitely unique.... but I dig it. There was a lot of repetition within the songs, but it still felt interesting to listen to Favorite track(s): “Energy Fools the Magician” “Her He Comes”
Honestly thought this was going to wind up being some average grungy album, but I actually enjoyed it more than I thought. There were some good tracks on here, and even though I don’t plan on coming back to it, it was a pleasant surprise. Would love to give it something higher than a 3, but it’s not quite a 4 for me Favorite track(s): “Victory,” “Hair,” and “Plants and Rags”
Really solid classic blues record. I can forgive the audio quality since it is made up of live recordings from 1960... there’s no way that’ll sound great. Favorite track(s): “Baby Please Don’t Go,” “Feel So Good,” and “Ive Got My Mojo Working”
There are definitely songs I can vibe with on this album, but overall it’s very ok. Also, for being the Pet Shop Boy, there were more female vocal parts than I expected. Favorite Track(s): “One More Chance” and “It’s A Sin”
Really solid jazz combo album. Not much more to say. Favorite Track(s): “When I Grow Too Old To Dream”
The vocal performances aren’t my favorite thing ever, but the songs themselves are really great. From the instrumental jazz to the solo piano and voice tracks to some of the more poppy stuff, there’s a surprising amount of variety. Favorite Track(s): “The Paris Match,” “Dropping Bombs On the Whitehouse,” and “Here’s One That Got Away”
I can get down with the music on this album, but the lyrics (and to an extent the vocal performance) knock it way down for me. If somebody else was singing about just about anything else over the music on this album, it would be an easy 4, maybe even a 5 if the singing and lyrical content was really stellar, but I’m disappointed in you Ian....
A classic. Some great tunes and some interesting African sounds Favorite Track(s): “Diamonds in the Souls of Her Shoes” and “You Can Call Me Al”
Really solid album. There were plenty of songs that were just ok in my opinion, but there were some that were great jams. Lyrically a solidly written album as well Favorite Track(s): “Break On Through,” “Light My Fire,” and “The End”
I get that Bob Dylan as a singer is not exactly palatable for everyone, but I enjoyed a lot of this album. Love him or hate him, you have to at least acknowledge his abilities as a song writer. Favorite Track(s): “Rainy Day Women #12 and 35,” “I Want You,” and “Stuck Inside of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again”
It was ok... definitely a big drop off after “Cult of Personality” Favorite Track(s): “Cult of Personality”
A fun old school rock and roll album. Not particularly my style, but I can understand why it was huge back in the day. A fun listen through Favorite Track(s): “Blue Suede Shoes” and “One-Sided Love Affair”
Enjoyed it a lot more overall than I thought I would when I first put it on. His voice isn’t the best, but he wrote some meat songs that lyrically were surprising densely packed. Favorite Track(s): “Senior Service,” “Party Girl,” and “Two Little Hitlers
I enjoyed this slightly folkier/jazzier version of the Allman Brothers. Some really solid songs as well as some that were just low key and kind of fun. Favorite Tracks: “Darkness, Darkness,” “Smug,” and “Ride the Wind”
I enjoyed that some of the songs (especially at the beginning of the album) were super chill, but the back half kind of hurt it’s chances of a decent score from me. There are some really great ideas that come out of Krautrock, but overall I’m not a huge fan. Favorite Tracks: “Seeland” and “Len Wohl”
After going through it and relistening to a couple songs I think in the end I really enjoyed this album. Very wild and fun at times but also hit on someone serious topics Favorite Tracks: “Fairytale of New York,” “Medley:...,” and “The Irish Rover”
Don’t get me wrong, there are some phenomenal songs on here, but in between it gets kinda hard for me to stay focused... just kind bland in between greatness. Favorite Tracks: “Straight Shooter,” “California Dreamin,” and “The ‘In’ Crowd”
Honestly every song kinda sounded the same... I was enjoying it at the beginning and then the album kinda droned on with the same feel in each song. Favorite Tracks: “The Hanging Garden” and “The Figurehead”
Probably my favorite of the synth pop kind of albums we’ve had so far. wasn’t the most interesting, but enjoyable. Favorite Tracks: “She’s Leaving” and “Motion and Heart”
Pretty fun album. Kinda rough around the edges, but kinda Alice’s stile, right? Probably won’t revisit it, but it was fun. Favorite Tracks: “School’s Out” and “Blue Turk”
This guy looks and sounds like a douche bag, but this album was not bad. Actually I found it quiets enjoyable, even if kinda cheesy at times Favorite tracks: “Something For The Weekend,” “The Frog Princess,” and “Through A Long and Sleepless Night”
So there’s significantly more to Oasis than “Wonderwall”.... very cool Favorite Tracks: “Supersonic” and “Married With Children”
I’m heavily biased since Aerosmith was a big part of my early teen years, but this albums great. Even “Big Ten Inch Record”slaps even though I absolutely detest the lyrics. Really solid classic rock album. Favorite Tracks: “Toys In The Attic,” “Uncle Salty,” “Walk This Way,” and “Sweet Emotion”
TLDR: This album is like watching golf for me. Kinda interesting, but will lull me to sleep. I liked this Cure album a lot more than Pornography but The Cure has this way of just lulling me to sleep. It’s slower, repetitive, and kinda ambient, and for whatever reason that just relaxes me and makes me want to sleep. I think there were some really good ideas on this album and I’m sure if I listened closer to the lyrics I’d be more invested in each song. Favorite Tracks: “Lovesong,” Fascination Street,” and “Prayers For Rain”
Honestly kind of a let down. It was ok, but not great and based on the name I expected it to groove more. The lower rating reflects my failed expectations for this album
Wild time. Album was all over the place and just a lot of fun. Favorite tracks: “Man at C&A” and “Sock It To ‘Em”
I was digging it at the beginning, but as it went on it kinda lost me. Favorite tracks: “Sumthin’ Sumthin’” and Dancewitme”
Honestly don’t have a whole lot for this one... it was pretty OK. Favorite tracks: “Loose” and “Dirt”
I’ve never really listened to much Thin Lizzy, but this seems like the kind of concert I could have gone to and had a good time regardless of that fact. Pretty standard 80s rock, but still fun. I’m going to exclude “Jailbreak” and “The Boys Are Back In Town” from below and focus more on the songs I didn’t know. Favorite Tracks: “Emerald,” “Massacre,” and “Baby Drives Me Crazy”
It’s a fun classic rock album. A good time, but nothing too notable. Favorite tracks: “Breakdown” and “American Girl”
Really weird album, but really enjoyed it. All over the place, but still coherent enough to be a really fun experience. Favorite tracks: “Zen Archer,” “Onionhead/Da Da Dali,” and “Medley:....”
This guy really wanted to write an old fashioned country album, and I think there’s a bit too much of the late 80s in there for me... not a bad album by any means, but just not great Favorite Tracks: “Guitar Town” and “Hillbilly Highway”
While the list of things I didn’t care for about this album are long, I did not actually hate it. For the sake of not ranting, my biggest complaint is listening to one song after another at practically the same bpm and with little variance in dynamics. That said, I could get behind some of the ideas on here and if this was playing at a party or camp or something I could get down with it. Favorite tracks: “Let There Be Light,” “D.A.N.C.E.,” and “Phantom Pt. II”
This is one of those rare albums for me where I thought the second half was significantly better than the first. I thought it was a pretty solid album musically even if I didn’t care for all of the vocals or lyrics. Good listen
One of those albums where if you’ve heard one song you’ve pretty much heard them all. Not too bad, just kinda bland. Favorite track: “The Age of Pamparius”
Some really good ideas in there and I think it would be a jam in a car or over speakers at a party, but listening through headphones kinda made me lose interest in most songs fairly quickly Favorite Tracks: “Block Rockin Beats” and “Setting Sun”
It was alright, but never really hooked me. I’ve learned through this album generator that I really don’t care for 90s alternative, but I at least don’t hate it
Not really feeling this one.... same as some of the other albums like this. Never really hooked me and gave me a reason to want to keep listening. The first song slaps though
Hey, a rap album I actually liked! I thought this album was actually really solid, and I think a big part of that is as a musician I would enjoy playing along to this. Some really fun beats and baselines that are, like, actually real and not just electronic
This album was hit or miss for me. There were songs that were really great and then there were some that I wasn’t feeling. Pretty good overall, but definitely not their best album. Favorite tracks: “I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night,” “Train For Tomorrow,” and “The King Is In The Counting House”
Sounds like a GTA radio station if they couldn’t get the rights to anything good. Favorite track: “Gangster Trippin”
Not Zappa’s best, but I enjoyed it. Some really good songs and some songs they made fun of that 60s pop sound very well. Naturally there were some tracks that were... out there, but that’s the fun of a Zappa album. Favorite tracks: “I Ain’t Got No Heart,” “Go Cry On Somebody Else’s Shoulder,” and “Motherly Love”
Really fun album. Enjoyed the energy and that is was punk that’s only significant quality musically was being loud. Favorite Tracks: “More Songs About Chocolate and Girls” and “See That Girl”
A little cheesy, but I had fun. This is the kind of country that I ca respect, even if it’s not something I would listen to all the time Favorite tracks: “I’ve Got a Tiger By the Tail,” “Falling For You,” and “Act Naturally”
As noted before, I’m not huge into 90s alternative rock. This was no exception to that. The vocals were grating and some songs it honestly sounded like the guitarist barely knew how to play. Not my favorite Favorite track: “Jenny”
Pretty solid. I’m not a huge fan of Bruce’s voice, but there are some really well don tracks in this album. Favorite tracks: “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,” “Born To Run,” and “Jungleland”
Very pleasantly surprised. Really expected cheesy 80s pop and, while there we’re definitely strong elements of that (especially in the vocals), it some really solid tracks. Favorite tracks: “Lust To Love,” “This Town,” and “Automatic”
Really solid jazz album. Not much more I can say Favorite tracks: “Part of a Whole” and “Maseru”
That was.... something. Not really digging it. Not a great vocal performance overall and the music sounds like what you hear in a dark, smokey club with during a drug trip scene in a movie that has an epilepsy warning due to all the flashing lights and quick camera movements. That is a generalization, since there were moments that broke away from that, but that’s the overall vibe I got Favorite tracks: “Frozen”
Honestly enjoyed this one. Not my absolute favorite thing, but one of the more enjoyable punk albums for me Favorite track: “Barmy”
It’s hard to beat the Eagles. There were a few moments that were a bit bland for me, but overall really amazing stuff Favorite tracks: “Take It Easy,” “Witchy Woman,” and “Take The Devil”
I can see why this is one of the best selling albums ever, because it is really solid and the production is incredible. However, it’s just not my thing. Favorite tracks: “Baby Be Mine,” “Thriller,” and “Billie Jean”
While I absolutely love this album, I also don’t think it’s the single greatest Beatles record. There are some great songs and I love hearing them begin to transition towards their sound in the later years, but there are moments that kind of lull. Songs that aren’t quite my favorite tracks: “Here, There, and Everywhere,” “Yellow Submarine,” and “Doctor Robert”
It has the same roller coaster quality that a lot of albums from this era do with all the sub three minute songs, but there were some really good songs on there. After listening through this, I feel like I need to listen to some more of The Kinks. Really the only reason this is getting a four from me is because I would rather have fewer longer songs than a crap ton of short ones. When you have that high of a volume of short songs I feel like there will feel like there are more bad songs than there actually are and the good ones are a little less memorable. Favorite tracks: “Rainy Day In June,” “Little Miss Queen of Darkness,” and “Dead End Street”
Really dug this one. Surprised me since The Clash never struck me as a band I would enjoy. Solid stuff lads. Favorite tracks: “London Calling,” “Lost In the Supermarket,” and “Clampdown”
Solid album, but you can definitely tell this was their first album. Rough around the edges, but some really great ideas in there and some powerful sounds. Favorite Tracks: “Summertime Blues,” “Doctor Please,” and “Parchment Farm”
Actually really liked this one. An album that was honestly a little heavier than I expected and would go back and forth from that to more of that singer songwriter vibe. Good stuff. Favorite Tracks: “Big Exit,” “Beautiful Feeling,” and “The Whores Hustle and the Hustlers Whore
Not my favorite thing, but it was ok. Just kind of loud and bland for me. Favorite tracks: “Personality Crisis” and “Lonely Planet Boy”
Really layering on the cheese for this one. Favorite tracks: “Thing Called Love” and “The Road’s My Middle Name”
I can appreciate the music of this album and how carefully crafted it is, but it was on the whole maybe a bit too relaxing to listen to.... still kinda good though Favorite tracks: “Up With People,” “Nashville Parent,” and “Butcher Boy”
I enjoyed it, but it seemed like the recording itself was a little rough. Also, other than the main hits, none of it really hooked me. It was ok. EVH is still insane though. Favorite tracks: “Jump,” “Panama, and “Hot For Teacher”
Musically it was slightly above ok. I’ll be honest though, I didn’t listen super closely. What lyrics I did hear I didn’t care so much for, so I feel a 3 is a solid choice
I found this one kind of boring. Just felt like the same thing over and over Favorite tracks: “Down on Me”
Really enjoyed this album. It was all over the place in a very good way. The band was on fire and the vocals were amazing. I appreciate the wide variety of sounds even within songs. A very interesting listen all around. Favorite tracks: “Lucky,” “Lu,” “Poverty Train,” and “Eli’s Comin’”
Genuinely enjoyed listening through this one. I’m sure if you picked individual songs and played them for me I wouldn’t care too much for it since hip hop and R&B aren’t really my thing, but the experience of listing through this one top to bottom was great. Favorite tracks: “To Zion,” “Superstar,” and “Every Ghetto, Every City”
Sometimes a good jam band like this feels right. Can has always been a favorite and they’re just a vibe. Sometimes it’s chill, sometimes a little incoherent, but it truly is a vibe Favorite Tracks: “Paperhouse,” “Halleluhwah”
Really loved this one. There were some lulls and some sections where it all sounded a bit harsh, but really good overall Favorite Tracks: “White Queen” and everything from “Ogre Battle” to “March of the black Queen”
Gotta be honest, didn’t really dig this one. There were some good moments, but really not my style. Favorite tracks: “Piggy” and “Hurt”
Wow, I didn’t expect to like this nearly as much as I did… really solid listening experience. The originally songs were fun jams and even the covers were really original takes on those tracks. Overall thoroughly enjoyed this and I might check out more of their stuff. Favorite Tracks: “Welcome To The Pleasure Dome,” “Relax,” “War,” and “The Power of Love”
Solid album. A good listen, but not anything mind blowing Favorite tracks: “Enter Sandman,” “The Unforgiven,” and “Nothing Else Matters”
Really not feeling this one…. Something about it just didn’t draw me in and it did not really care for any part of it
It’s ok, but it takes a lot for me to really enjoy a punk album and this didn’t quite get there. Favorite tracks: “Not Great Men,” and “Glass”
I thought this was a cool album. I don’t think I enjoyed it as much as the other album of theirs that I’ve gotten, but it’s not too far off. It’s the same sort of thing though, the music would be fun to just jam to and as a non rap fan I actually could dig what they were putting down. Fun record. Favorite tracks: “Luck of Lucien,” “Can I Kick It?,” and “Youthful Expression”
It was ok. Some fine songs, but overall just… ok. Favorite tracks: “13 Steps Lead Down,” “You Tripped At Every Step,” and “Favorite Hour”
Wow… really great album. It’s a shame songs from this area go by so quick. Favorite tracks: “People Get Ready,” A Natural Woman,” and “Chain of Fools”
Always disliked the Smashing Pumpkins, but after listening through this album I may need to reevaluate. There were songs that I didn’t care for (it’s a two hour album, how do you avoid that?), but on the whole I was really impressed by it. Some really great music in here.
Ok, Leonard Cohen can write some really good songs, but my goodness are his performances of them bad…. There’s a reason it feels like no one’s heard the original “Hallelujah” and this album is the same way. I could see someone else taking anyone of these songs and making them significantly better. Favorite tracks: “First We Take Manhattan” and “Take This Waltz - Paris Version”
Really nice, short snippets. Some of the songs were a bit out there, but Randy Newman is always a pleasant listen. Favorite Tracks: “Political Science” and “You Can Leave Your Hat On”
Was like one long jam
It was alright. Some fine sounds, but not necessarily my cup of tea favorite tracks: “Pagan Poetry” and “Sun In My Mouth”
I seem to enjoy each Brian Eno album we get a little bit less. This one was ok, but not fantastic.
Really solid album. This is the kind of band I would love to see in a bar or smaller venue and just have a great time with some friends. Favorite tracks: “Can You Heal Us,” “Has My Fire Really Gone Out?,” “Foot of the Mountain,” and “Shadow of the Sun”
Such an incredible album. Really great musicianship and incredibly well written material. A classic. Favorite tracks: “Hotel California,” “New Kid In Town,” “Life In The Fast Lane,” and “Wasted Time”
It started off fine, but then everything started to feel the same and it got monotonous. Still, there are some decent singles on here Favorite tracks: “Favorite Shirts and “Love’s Got Me In Triangles”
It’s was fine… some good tracks and some that didn’t do anything for me
Dont care much for his voice, but the music was actually really solid. Favorite tracks: “Young Livers,” “Fat Lip,” and “Salt Future”
Not usually a huge Bowie fan, but this was a pretty fun listen Favorite Tracks: “Watch That Man,” “Panic In Detroit,” and “The Jean Genie”
This album really is an incredible work of art. The flow of the album is great, there is wonderful use of non-instrument elements (the alarm clocks are brilliant even if they startle me every time), and it is one of those albums that just feels good to listen all the way through. Favorite tracks: the only ones I would exclude from this are the ones like “Speak To Me” where they really aren’t tracks that would ever get played in their own. Thoroughly enjoy this whole album.
Never been a huge rap guy, but this was a cool listen. Don’t think I’ll ever come back to any of the songs or the album as a whole, but I enjoyed it. These albums for me are more enjoyable when taken as a whole than when looking at individual songs.
He’s a good song writer, but I’m kinda sick of hearing his voice
I actually really enjoyed the whole album (or I guess really more of an EP). It was unique and just an interesting listen.
Would like to give this a five since it got me listening to more Grateful Dead, but I think a four is most accurate for me… really solid jam album
Really solid metal album
There are some amazing songs on here, but there are also a couple that kind drag on… for me they balance the album between not quite being incredible, but not quite being a bad album either
The title track is an absolutely amazing experience. It’s a well crafted story, the music is interesting throughout, and it’s overall really great. The rest of the album is solidly ok for me. There are some solid songs, but most of them are a kind of forgettable. Still, nothing quite hits like the song 2112 Favorite tracks: “2112,” “A Passage to Bangkok,” and “Something For Nothing”
