Good musically just not my thing, will try some of his other songs at some point
Gets progressively better (less folky) but not my thing. Opener and closer the highlights
Building steam and midnight good songs
James brown is good and worth a listen but this album is a pain to listen to as half of it is screaming fans.
Enjoyed lost someone but it seems to be the only version of that song. He has 4 different songs called lost someone.
Blues chords and catchy chorus’.
Not much else going on don’t really get the hype.
Don’t get it at all, massively bland
Some good songs but a little raw for me, reminds me in patches of early cage the elephant
Brilliant album, proper talents and fantastic production for its time
Alright but heavily influenced by better bands of the time
Starts off sounding like REM ends up sounding like Travis, weak second half of the album
Surprisingly easy to listen to, might give it a second listen but the middle of the album was forgettable
Not my jam but the seed is a great tune
A bit too experimental for me
Some good tunes, like their energy. A great album.
Some good funk, they won’t go when I go is a great little interlude
Decent album, something a bit different 3.5, family tree is great
Couple of decent tunes but a lot of it droned on
The instrumentals are decent but he’s not much of a vocalist
My expectations were low and I’m still disappointed
Not my genre but liked a fair bit of it, best song revolution blues
Nice album, shades of portishead
Solid 3.5, much prefer it to other albums of its time
All about showing off his vocals, some of its ok
One dimensional, same tone rapping over the same beats
Just classic Neil Young, he’s good. alberqueque and the album closer are the highlights
Fine, basically the mamas and papas again
Weird covers, drags on in the middle
Very good music just not something I’d listen to
Pretty fresh but fades massively, gasoline dreams and ms Jackson are great
More folky than I expected, not really for me
A man shouting over frantic drum beats and guitar fills for an hour and a half, couldn’t finish it
Great album, more blues inspired than I thought it would be. Brown sugar, sway, wild horses and can’t you hear me knocking are brilliant. 4.5
Nothing original, soulless
Better than expected but country isn’t really my thing
Didn’t expect the hip hop and reggae influences, couple of good songs though
Really good, fades a bit in the middle, great blues album
Once you’ve heard the first song on the album you’ve heard the whole album
Decent, the happening is the best, quite like dig for fire and is she weird
Hit and miss, some real talent in there and I admire the freedom and creativity
Drags on a lot, most songs are a couple of minutes too long
Interesting but some of it is too lacking in melodies/structure,
Some good tracks and worth a relisten though
Absolutely brilliant, will re-listen again and again.
Solid enough blues album but won’t be listening again
Good, needs a relisten with full headphones
Second half much more listenable and lively than the first but still lacks edge
Decent blues album, better than expected, Maggie May and that’s all right are the highlights
Pretty uninspiring really
Nice, but didn’t do a lot for me
Liked the vibe, good funk but the songs just dragged on for too long and lost their focus
Need another listen to really get it
Completely unoriginal and bland, like listening to the same song on loop
Much better than sgt pepper
A little bland, some decent tunes though
Some interesting sounds but every song is 3 minutes too long, you need to be on some kind of mind altering substance to enjoy it
Incel anthems described as teenage angst, good music, bad vibes
Really good, massive Bowie influences 3.5
I’m clearly not intelligent to get this, give me some melodies please
None of it really stood out
Very well polished album just lacks a little edge in places
Slight dip in the middle but very very good album
Interesting, probably worth another listen
A bit too soft and slow for me
Some great songs but a touch one dimensional
Good stuff probably needs a second listen
Some great songs in here but half of the album is annoyingly whiny
Some good songs, definitely influenced a lot of bands
Didn’t feel cohesive as an album but some good songs, relisten needed
Really liked the first half of this surprisingly, will listen to more of his stuff for sure, 3.5
Bland, not sure what this offers compared to say Dolly Parton
Great stuff from a great man, grows with every listen
This list doesn’t need more than one Leonard cohen album, utterly bland
Bland, didn’t do anything for me
Good but nothing sticks long in the memory
Not nearly as good as pranoid
Not really my thing, feels a bit like a novelty act
Maybe I had to be a teenager in the 80s to love this
Some interesting melodies and decent background music
Much better than I thought, just not my thing
Not for me, decent though
Some good tunes in here but half of it is bland and similar to others in the genre
Not my favourite cure album, lacks focus
Really enjoyed this, shame about the lead singer being a rotter
Overhyped? Maybe, but still musically very good with great production
Lacks a bit of originality and spark for me
Really didn’t engage with this
Perfectly listenable, just wouldn’t choose to listen to it again
A bit like early Beatles without the charm
Didn’t really get on with this, nothing stood out
Solid writing, needs a relisten
Some really nice tunes here, will listen to more
Not really sure what this was
A bit too heavy for me, but it was fine
