1001 Albums Summary

A tour de force that cemented MJ as the cornerstone of pop music. If you listen to one album this year you can make it this one, not the worst thing to miss out on though since Thriller is actually his magnum opus

it was pretty good, I generally value musicianship over lyricism so it didn't hit the right spot for me

I'm not a big folk guy so I wasn't expecting too much with this but the variety and breadth of instruments going so far to have the London Symphony Orchestra chime in on A Man Needs a Maid and There's a World, great listen cheers

I could describe this as the pinnacle of nocturnal records, it's very easy to imagine driving down the interstate at midnight with no other cars in sight. Very beautiful singing on all tracks, instrumentation comes together with it seamlessly most notably on Heads, very incredible which ties together a tight album that you won't even notice repeat with how well it flows.

It was pretty good, I don't think I'm really into this type of metal so it didn't really strike a chord with me so to speak. Really like Ace of Spades (single).

I don't know the background to this album but it felt long and meandering and goofy at times with instruments like the kazoo, didn't like it

It's MJ of course, also it flows very well and feels like mostly killer and no filler

a bit too grandiose imo maybe even pretentious but I still liked it a lot, the history on this is pretty messed up

too much of a jam session, would've been better if it was 20 minutes shorter, Free Form Guitar was awful

Very good musicianship and songwriting, I didn't know how prolific a songwriter she was in general and it definitely tracks with the content on this album
