Popular Reviews

Deloused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta

3.5 Clearly a bunch of bands I grew up listening to took influence from these guys, so I don't know how I've never heard of them before. Throughly enjoyed this album even if lyrically is a bit nonsensical. But prog rock/emo is my vibe so I'm bias.

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns by Joni Mitchell

This was a struggle to get through, nothing inherently wrong with it just such a snoozefest. If I'm ever struggling to sleep I know what to put on but I definitely could have died having never listened to this.

With The Beatles by Beatles
Feb 23 2024

Listened to this several dozen times now and I absolutely love it.

Abraxas by Santana
Mar 04 2024

Meh. Would probably have enjoyed it much more if I was stoned.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Mar 05 2024

One of my favourite bands of all time. Not their best album but Green Rover, Thombstone Shadow, Lodi, and of course, Bad Moon Rising are all bangers.

Cross by Justice
Mar 08 2024

Not normally my sort of thing but thoroughly enjoyed bopping along to this! Could have done with a couple more bangers though as some of it dragged.

Mar 11 2024

This must be what other people experience when they hear heavy metal and say "it's just noise". I gave it a go but honestly it was like listening to Jez try and play the saxophone for half an hour. Not for me.

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Mar 12 2024

All blended into one. There wasn't really a single standout track

Unhalfbricking by Fairport Convention
Mar 13 2024

2.5 Surprisingly, fairly enjoyable just not my sort of thing.

Abbey Road by Beatles
Mar 15 2024

Never been huge on The Beatles, I've heard lots of their songs but never listened to an album front to back. This was incredible. Only bad song for me was Sun King, everything else ranged from great to banger

The White Album by Beatles
Mar 19 2024

Didn't love it as much as Abbey Road but it was still excellent

Talking Timbuktu by Ali Farka Touré
Mar 21 2024

2.5 A little repetitive and not my sort of thing but loved the vibes.

Metal Box by Public Image Ltd.
Mar 22 2024

Absolutely exhausting listen I'm surprised I managed to finish it. Some cool riffs I guess but mostly no redeeming qualities - repetitive, boring, and the vocal performance was just awful.

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Mar 25 2024

Hasn't heard of The Zombies outside of Time of the Season but actually really enjoyed this, pretty chill

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Mar 26 2024

Not my favourite album by them but still banging

Dig Your Own Hole by The Chemical Brothers
Mar 28 2024

3.5 "Not so much, A to B to C, but more sort of A to D, and then back to A, and then to X!" Quite enjoyed this.

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Mar 29 2024

Has a few classic bangers and I liked it generally, but theses types of vocal performances are just not really for me.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Apr 03 2024

Had a lot of fun with this. Might have been a 3.5 but the second half of the record is a lot weaker than the first.

Django Django by Django Django
Apr 05 2024

2.5 Decent but a bit of a slog

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Apr 08 2024

Banger after banger after banger. What more do you want? Can't believe this was taken off newer editions!

Apr 10 2024

Would have enjoyed it a lot more if it was like half the length, as it stands it's just a drag to listen to.

I Against I by Bad Brains
Apr 12 2024

3.5 The vocals took a few songs to grow on me but instrumentally it was fantastic. Feel like I need to give this a few more spins.

Apr 15 2024

Beautifully emotional album. Hurt is one of the greatest songs ever written, and I love the original and this for different reasons.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Apr 16 2024

Love Dire Straits but this is no where near their best album, apart from Sultans Of Swing it's a bit of a snoozefest

The Dreaming by Kate Bush
Apr 17 2024

2.5 This was really weird but kinda fascinating? Suspended in Gaga was genuinely great then in Houdini it sounded like she was doing a muppet impersonation. I don't know if I love it or hate it, definitely needs a few more spins

Quiet Life by Japan
Apr 18 2024

Meh just a bit boring

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns by Joni Mitchell
Apr 19 2024

This was a struggle to get through, nothing inherently wrong with it just such a snoozefest. If I'm ever struggling to sleep I know what to put on but I definitely could have died having never listened to this.

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Apr 22 2024

Enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, pretty fun!

Smash by The Offspring
Apr 23 2024

Not as good as Americana but still a really fun time

The Blueprint by JAY Z
Apr 25 2024

Not generally a fan if Jay-Z but this was banging

Phrenology by The Roots
Apr 26 2024

Really fun, great production. The Seed is a banger.

Be by Common
Apr 29 2024

This was a great throwback

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Apr 30 2024

Some enjoyable tracks with Breakdown and The Wild One, Forever. But overall a bit eh

Vanishing Point by Primal Scream
May 01 2024

3.5 Enjoyed this a lot more than I expected. Great vibes all round.

Another Green World by Brian Eno
May 02 2024

1.5 Not for me kinda just faded into the background as I was listening. The only decent track was the big ship, the rest was completely forgettable.

Truth by Jeff Beck
May 03 2024

3.5 Pretty banging.

Melodrama by Lorde
May 07 2024

Kate Bush-lite. The lyrics are nonsensical and instrumentally it's pretty generic but that voice is pure sex.

Throwing Muses by Throwing Muses
May 08 2024

Not bad but kinda boring and just couldn't connect with the vocal performance at all.

Protection by Massive Attack
May 09 2024

Elevator music

Infected by The The
May 16 2024

3.5 I really enjoyed this. Every song felt unique, great anger and production throughout, and had a couple of bangers. Will definitely relisten. Leagues better than that Puplic Image Ltd. crap.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
May 17 2024

2.5 Fun but a little boring.

Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis
May 21 2024

Some fun to be had here but I'm just not a jazzy boi

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
May 28 2024

1.5 Not for me though it was more tolerable than the Charles Mingus album.

A Walk Across The Rooftops by The Blue Nile
May 29 2024

Enjoyable but very samey and got tiresome towards the end. Probably wouldn't listen to it again.

Dry by PJ Harvey
May 30 2024

"Dry" is an appropriate name

Pelican West by Haircut 100
May 31 2024

Surprisingly a lot of fun!

2112 by Rush
Jun 04 2024

A 20 minute song to start is outrageous. I enjoyed "Twilight Zone" and instrumentally it's decent but kinda bland and the vocals are just not my taste.

Kenza by Khaled
Jun 07 2024

Production and instrumentation on this is excellent. Great vocals although hard to fully connect with when I don't understand the language but that's a me problem. Definitely a bit too long but it was really fun, honestly shocked at how much I enjoyed this.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Jun 10 2024

Several bangers but I honestly fond this to be a bit of a slog.

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Jun 11 2024

1.5 Good voice just incredibly boring

Marquee Moon by Television
Jun 12 2024

Unreal. Loved this! The guitar work is wild.

Bert Jansch by Bert Jansch
Jun 14 2024

Got a bit tiresome towards the end but I still very much enjoyed this.

Blackstar by David Bowie
Jun 17 2024

Definitely an experience. Kinda to hard to rate without a few more listens.

Transformer by Lou Reed
Jun 18 2024

Enjoyable and a few bangers

Jun 20 2024

Enjoyed this more than I thought I would. But it was just too long, I really stuggled towards the end. Tainted Love will always be a banger though.

The Age Of The Understatement by The Last Shadow Puppets
Jun 21 2024

Never listened to the full album before only the title track. Pretty decent but nothing mindblowing.

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Jun 24 2024

Better than some of the other jazz stuff I've heard so far but this genre on its own really just isn't for me. At least it was short.

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Jun 25 2024

4.5 One of my favourite albums I've come across doing this. Unreal. Favourite tracks: I Wanna Be Adored, She Bangs the Drums, Fools Gold

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Jun 26 2024

I kinda enjoyed it. Fantastic vocals and some groovy tunes but the length of the tracks is ridiculously excessive.

Microshift by Hookworms
Jun 27 2024

I was fine I guess but there was so much good stuff that came out in 2018 how is this what's on the list? Has anyone even heard of these guys?

Roots by Sepultura
Jun 28 2024

Vocal performance wasn't really to my taste. But this was a blast!

On The Beach by Neil Young
Jul 10 2024

Fine just kinda dull

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Jul 16 2024

Never been into Foo Fighters and this didn't convince me I've been missing out. Nothing wrong with the album it was just incredibly generic.

Groovin' by The Young Rascals
Jul 17 2024

Enjoyed this. Pretty fun and a handful of bangers

1989 by Taylor Swift
Jul 23 2024

A good enjoyable pop album with a few bangers. Still, it did nothing to help me understand the frenzy around Taylor Swift.

Legalize It by Peter Tosh
Jul 24 2024

I was transported back to Jamaica for a moment. Good vibes just kinda boring.

Harvest by Neil Young
Aug 19 2024

3.5 Enjoyed this quite a bit. "There's a World" is fantastic. Just can't see myself relistening very much because it's quite low energy.

Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Aug 20 2024

Outside of the title track and Frontier Psychiatrist this was incredibly dull

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Aug 21 2024

A bunch of absolute classic bangers but as an album, eh. Some songs went on way too long.

The Sensual World by Kate Bush
Aug 22 2024

Enjoyable listen but nothing special. I regret giving "The Dreaming" a 2.5. After giving it several more spins I'd now rate it a 4.

Gasoline Alley by Rod Stewart
Aug 23 2024

This was an incredibly annoying and tedious listen.

Debut by Björk
Jan 14 2025

2.5 It was alright I guess. Not desperate to re-listen.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Jan 20 2025

One of the best things I've listened to on this list so far.

Smokers Delight by Nightmares On Wax
Jan 22 2025

Sounds like the soundtrack to some JRPG. Not terrible but not for me.

Traffic by Traffic
Jan 23 2025

I've been listening to a lot of 60s/70s rock lately. This was ok but honestly quite dull.

British Steel by Judas Priest
Feb 17 2025

This is a 2 but I'll give it an extra star for the Guitar Hero nostalgia of "Breaking the Law"

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Mar 02 2026

It's no "Rumours" but it was decent.

Arrival by ABBA
Mar 10 2026

Just not for me
