Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine

Hell of a pick for this on Election Day 2024. This album was released on Election Day 1992. Just neat.

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Sep 26 2024

Chaotic, magical, masterful. Part 1 is my favorite.

The Band by The Band
Sep 27 2024

Tracks one and two are nothing special. This album feels like it’s gonna be a miss for me. Two more in - this barely qualifies as listenable. Who is this for? Jemima surrender - worst track so far. Jesus. Penultimate track - if i never listen to the band again, it will be too soon I don’t hate king harvest lyrically Okay real talk. Vocals and organ are insufferable on this album.

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Oct 01 2024

One recognizable song. Very consistent sound throughout. Nowhere as good as mellon.

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Oct 02 2024

Astounding. I am familiar with a lot of these tracks, and there’s a good reason for their popularity, but even the lesser tracks are still pretty good. A pleasure to listen to, with fantastic production and orchestration.

Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk
Oct 03 2024

Astounding for the time euro electronica. Very slow. Very German.

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly
Oct 04 2024

I’m familiar with the title track, but not so much with the rest of this album. I can hear a lot of other artists in here. The doors, jethro Tull, king crimson, David Bowie. Acid rock and jam bands. Absolutely enjoy the variation on god rest ye merry gentlemen.

Oct 07 2024

This is the brassiest brass to ever brass. Track c is my favorite. Chaotic and fast but great. The instruments sing in an almost human voice. Dagnabbit.

Tapestry by Carole King
Oct 08 2024

I love this album. So many songs I already know and never realized this was from the same album. Rightly recognized for the masterpiece it is.

Isn't Anything by My Bloody Valentine
Oct 10 2024

Early emo. Can see a lot how it develops. But not for me.

Fifth Dimension by The Byrds
Oct 11 2024

John Riley has some interesting parts. I like the byrds from other songs, but none of these strike that same chord.

London Calling by The Clash
Oct 14 2024

Easy to see what evolved of this into punk. Seeing what musical styles they draw from is neat. This isn’t far removed from og rock n roll. I love the ska-esque tracks more than anything else. I am a sucker for horns. Mostly unimpressive. Drags on too long and the vocalist is not cut out for this. Until the last two tracks. I know train in vain, but revolution rock is a real standout on this.

Oct 18 2024

I would be able to tolerate the choir and string synths in an 80s album but it just feels stale here. There is potential, but nothing impressive

1984 by Van Halen
Oct 24 2024

One star per good track

The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips
Oct 25 2024

Race for the prize is great. Flaming lips are one of those artists that on paper I should love but just don’t.

The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Oct 30 2024

Best track: lil ghetto boy A few skips

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Oct 31 2024

Surprisingly modern album. Some very 80s sound, but grunge. And it really feels like indie dream pop.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Nov 06 2024

Hell of a pick for this on Election Day 2024. This album was released on Election Day 1992. Just neat.

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Nov 15 2024
Manassas by Stephen Stills
Nov 21 2024
Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Nov 22 2024

I like Dylan. His voice is for telling stories. But I never understood the production decision to leave in very messy accompaniment. With just acoustic, or live, it’s fine. But for me it detracts.

Dookie by Green Day

Kala by M.I.A.
Jan 22 2025

Paper planes can’t save this from 1 star. Every other is a skip.

Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Jan 05 2026

Blues to start. I’m not the biggest fan of this right off the bat. Listening to the mono version just because the panning is obnoxious. The rest of the album feels like this too. Very stones-like and the stones aren’t fantastic. They’re passable with a few good songs.

NEU! 75 by Neu!
Jan 07 2026

First 3 tracks: slow, comfortable, peaceful Hero: generic u2 sounding music with jaggers rotting corpse as the vocalist. Awful. E-musik: long psychedelic rock intro that has so much promise and build in tempo. And fails to deliver anything. If it had anything of interest this album would score higher. After eight: more like hero. Gross. Highway tune beat with what can best be described as moaning. No real progression. I listened to the whole thing, which should give this an extra half point versus some of this dreck.

Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury by The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy
Jan 08 2026

Clear vocals and good lyrics. Artistic though often dissonant sampling. Opening for RATM makes perfect sense

Closer by Joy Division
Jan 09 2026

Slow and sad

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Jan 12 2026

Such a classic, so many perfect tracks. Blues me please

Green by R.E.M.
Jan 13 2026

Three memorable tracks, but the rest isn’t much

Graceland by Paul Simon
Jan 14 2026

Some fantastic tracks

Jan 19 2026

One all time great slim track and one sad Stan. The rest ranges from good to borderline.

The Doors by The Doors
Jan 20 2026

I’m not actually a doors fan but this was nice

System Of A Down by System Of A Down
Jan 21 2026

Toxicity is better but this is pretty great

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
Jan 29 2026

Love fool is amazing and the cover of iron man is great. Rest is slightly above average

Remedy by Basement Jaxx
Feb 05 2026

Mostly skips.
