4/5
Godamn. This album is pretty damn immaculate. Nothing that really blew me out of the water per se, but the mixing is incredible. I feel like I'm saying this every review but instrumental hip-hop is new to me. The samples of interviews are also a nice touch. Just great.

Kendrick Lamar
3/5
VERY solid album with a few bangers, will probably listen to it every once in a while.
Moby
2/5
It was fine but really not my type of music. Had trouble paying attention. Solid album but I wouldn't call it one of the greatest. Porcelain isn't bad tho
Sam Cooke
4/5
Absolutely incredible. Never really listened to this type of music but it blew me away. The heart that it shows is immaculate. RIP Sam.
Lauryn Hill
3/5
Pretty great album, I'm sick at the moment so this'll probably not be my most coherent review but it has some solid bangers. Still not as great as my previous album but I may listen to it time to time.
Dire Straits
3/5
Pretty good album. Not something I'd listen to too often but I might play it in the car from time to time. Walk of Life slaps.
David Bowie
1/5
Man. I don't know what happened but I just can't click with this album. Maybe I'm just not "cultured" enough but I can't stand it. The beats are pretty good, I just can't stand the vocals. Very different from any of his earlier material, (at least that I've listened to). Has to be a 1/5 from me.
Fred Neil
2/5
This was a completely fine album for me, not many highpoints, not many low points. This makes it forgettable for me. I can see the vision, it just didn't pan out in a very interesting manner for me. 2/5
Pink Floyd
3/5
Man. This is the first time I've listened to Pink Floyd, (or at least an album of theirs), so this was pretty eye opening for me. I'm very conflicted on what I should rate this. I would give it about a 3.5 so I'll think about it more later. I know this is their debut album so I would not be surprised if I like the next album I get more than this! Great stuff.
DJ Shadow
4/5
Godamn. This album is pretty damn immaculate. Nothing that really blew me out of the water per se, but the mixing is incredible. I feel like I'm saying this every review but instrumental hip-hop is new to me. The samples of interviews are also a nice touch. Just great.
The Stooges
2/5
This reminds me a lot of the Fred Neil album. Not in a musical sense but no real standouts. It was fine but I can't really see myself listening to it often. Some okay tunes but it's Play by Moby tier.
Jane's Addiction
2/5
Oof. That was a tough listen for me. Album cover aside, jesus christ, there were maybe 5 minutes throughout the album where I went, "okay this is alright". It wasn't a complete mess and some of the instruments were pretty groovy in some parts so I'll give it a light 2. Not my thing.
R.E.M.
3/5
I think I've earned myself a three. This album was pretty damn good. I've listened to Orange Crush probably about 10 times today. Nonetheless, the rest of the album was pretty mediocre. Some funky beats but nothing too special. An easy listen for a day that I really needed it.
(Drinking Orange Crush while listening to Orange Crush is a 5/5 experience would do again)
Gene Clark
2/5
WHEN WILL THIS RABBIT HOLE OF MID DAD ROCK END??? In all seriousness the album was fine. Nothing stood out so it garners a two. (Really being creative over 'ere). Anyway, lets hope SidledsGunnar blesses us with a banger christmas album.
Various Artists
3/5
Wow. The music as a whole didn't really surprise me too much (besides frosty that one was just funny). It'd probably get a 2, but I'm feeling in the Christmas spirit so a 3 it is. Happy Holidays everyone! :]
Butthole Surfers
2/5
The Butthole Surfers (fantastic name) made an album that I would call.. weird? The first track was pretty good but I felt it kinda just fell off from there. I hate to give ANOTHER album a two but it wasn't my thing.
Queen
4/5
Jesus Christ. I don't even know where to start. This is EASILY the best thing I've listened to so far. The only song I'd heard prior to this was Bohemian Rhapsody which wasn't even my favourite track on here. It's just so whimsical, I don't know how to explain it. I'll listen to it lots more over the course of the day but this is a HIGH 4 or or a 5. Just wow.
The Strokes
3/5
Huh. This is a solid one that I feel like I'll grow into. This is especially weird since I don't particularly love it, but I've been playing it on repeat all day cause it's good background noise. It's in that type of Phoneboy, Good Kid kinda style that I like. I'll give it a 3 for now. No complaints.
Supergrass
3/5
SMOKE A WHAT???
My Dad rock rabbit hole has transformed into an alternative rock rabbit hole which, eh, no complaints. This album was pretty good. I'd definitely heard "Alright" before listening. It was just mainly feel good vibes which I can roll with. Solid 3.
Metallica
3/5
Wow. It was alright, but nothing too great. Enter Sandman was easily. the highlight. I am so sick of rock man :'}. Dear 1001 Album Generator gods, STOP GIVING ME ROCK ALBUMS. Anyway, tomorrows the last day of 2024, lets hope its a good one. 3/5
Jane's Addiction
2/5
Man. It may be the album cover, the amount of rock albums I've been getting recently, or the general sound of it, but I just didn't jive with it. For the last album of 2024, it's been underwhelming. Anyway, my goal is to listen to one of these every day of 2025 so let's make it happen. SEE Y'ALL NEXT YEAR.
Jimi Hendrix
2/5
I heard good things about this album. I honestly didn't care for it. I saw it as mostly filler and couldn't really get behind any of the songs besides Foxey Lady (maybe). Big shrug for me.
Leonard Cohen
2/5
Yeah, at least it's not rock. I got pretty much nothing from this album. If i was trapped in a dungeon, I'd probably enjoy listen to this but that's about the only situation I would. 2/5.
3/5
That's pretty damn solid. I don't think it exactly DESERVES to be in the top 1000 but I see why it got there. Supermassive Black Hole slaps. 3/5.
The Mars Volta
2/5
Yean, it's alright. Again, the tracks being on the longer side really affected my attention. It was okay enough but I'm not entirely sure how someone who has 300.000 listeners got an album here. Just meh.
Big Black
2/5
Y'know, could we have the punk rock WITHOUT the heavy breathing? Kinda impressive for the 80s tho
The Killers
5/5
I know I'm doing this to broaden my music taste but the first 5 of my profile HAS to go to this album. Obviously, I've listened to it a few times beforehand but it was nice to really digest it. Brandon's vocals were incredible as always. I'm going on a bit of a ramble but this is a 9/10 album EASILY. I'd love to see Sam's Town on here some day.
Muddy Waters
3/5
Again, very solid stuff. Not as great as Sam Cooke at the Harlem Square Club but still not bad at all. It was pretty forgettable but generally enjoyable to listen to. Definitely a legend.
Public Enemy
3/5
INCREDIBLY solid album. This personally probably won't be a repeat me but this was pretty damn interesting. Very creative, reminded me a lot of Endtroducing... . HIGH 3.
The Cure
3/5
This album is outstanding for 1980. INCREDIBLY ahead of its time. It's more experimental than groovy which I can jive with. The instrumentals are especially impressive. Great album.
Lorde
4/5
This is an incredible example of me going out of my comfort zone. I couldn't see myself listening to this without this generator but what an album man. What I originally assumed was just radio fodder turned out to be beautiful. AND AT 19?? This is EXACTLY what a 4 star album is for me. Something immaculate that probably won't be part of my rotation. Just wow.
Massive Attack
3/5
Pretty good trip-hop album. I wouldn't put it close to the top 100 albums of the 90s like some people do but it was enjoyable to listen to. Seems we're on a bit of a hot steak!
My Bloody Valentine
3/5
Some solid rock, again, pretty advanced for its time. Not really in a music mood today so forgive me that this is dry. Solid 3/5.
2/5
Again, pretty tired writing this but this album was okay. These are the longest tracks I've seen on an album and my attention was dwindling. Just don't think I have the patience for this one today. Might update it later, 2/5 for now.
Aerosmith
3/5
Has some hits. Only heard "Dream On" before this & it did not disappoint. Great album.
Queens of the Stone Age
3/5
Stands its ground exceptionally well. "If Only" is a banger. 3/5
Cream
3/5
I liked that more than I really expected. It's been a minute since I last listened to these things and I expected I'd leave on a sour note but this was great. It's mostly psychedelic rock which has never been a favourite of mine but Cream pulled it off quite well. The ending track was also fun. Hope this won't be a one and done thing for me!
Beck
3/5
Album #2 of the day. It loses steam near the end but all in all is just a really solid 2000s rock album. Don't expect the energy to last throughout but the opener, E-Pro, is really solid.
Hüsker Dü
3/5
Decent album. A lot of overlap between this and R.E.M which I can get behind pretty heavily. Hate to give this the fifth three in a row but that's all I'm getting from it.
The Flying Burrito Brothers
3/5
It's a really sweet album. I don't listen to a lot of country but this was really nice. Fantastic name and "My Uncle" is my favourite track by far. I'd give it a 3.5.
Led Zeppelin
2/5
Nothing too special, probably won't listen again. Had some solid solos on there though.
Gene Clark
3/5
This is the second Gene Clark project I've gotten here and I like this a lot better than the first. A lot of harmonica, acoustic guitar. It was nothing to special but it was a good time nonetheless!
Lou Reed
4/5
holy dude you shoulda gone to couples therapy
Willie Nelson
3/5
Really nice cover of all of me on here. The cover art matches it perfectly.
Johnny Cash
3/5
Those were really nice covers. We'll Meet Again gave me chills. Rest in peace.
Bonnie "Prince" Billy
2/5
Not a bad album by any means, just not for me. Doesn't sound like it's from the late nineties.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
3/5
Not a bad album, just didn't really get with it. Maps was by far the best song. The singer sounds really nice though.
Deep Purple
2/5
I didn't find that one very good. Left me bored and uninterested but I respected the solos.
Brian Eno
3/5
Really fitting album for the day it’s been. Brian’s vocals are almost haunting. Definitely a relisten for me.
Einstürzende Neubauten
1/5
It gets a 1 as it is. It gets a -1 for making me think my headphones weren't working on the last track. Thanks for the Home Depot ambience guys.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
3/5
Fiftieth album and definitely not a bad one at that. Heads Will Roll and Runaway were a couple of my favourites! I genuinely don’t think I could give a pop album a bad score. High 3.
4/5
I thoroughly enjoyed that. A lot of it feels almost theatrical which I really liked. I gotta listen to more of this bands stuff.
Incubus
2/5
Didn't find it all that great. Probably a little too hard rock for me. I liked the lead singer voice though.
Robert Wyatt
2/5
This one just didn't do it for me. The shaky vocals, the more experimental type sound. I couldn't get with it.
Sufjan Stevens
2/5
It was alright but dragged on for a lot longer than I'd like. If it was 45 minutes, I'd give it a 3. Couldn't really groove with it.
The Jam
3/5
It's a fun short album. Nothing more, nothing less. Good listen!
Public Image Ltd.
3/5
I was pretty meh on most of it besides Radio 4. I don't think I can constitute giving it less than a three with that track.
Dire Straits
4/5
Fantastic album. I got Brothers In Arms a few months ago and found that pretty good. I feel this is a step above that. Down to the Waterline and Sultans of Swing were a couple of my favourites.
Dusty Springfield
4/5
I feel like I shouldn't like this as much as I do. Maybe it's the doo-wop elements or the brass, but it's got nothing that I would want more from it. It's genuinely just a really good album.
Lucinda Williams
2/5
I'm not one to have the mindset "all country music sucks" but this certainly makes me feel otherwise. It's only saving grace is that I've heard worse.
2 Kool
Pet Shop Boys
3/5
I liked that one. Synths, horns, all that jazz. I really loved "What Have I Done to Deserve This" with Dusty Springfield who I just gave a 4 a couple days ago. No complaints besides being a bit bland at times.
Frank Zappa
3/5
Not bad at all. Just some groovy tunes. Fourty-five minutes of em at that. Big thumbs up from me.
Eagles
3/5
It was nice I guess. Too inoffensive to critique it, too boring to praise it. I don't really care about this album and I hate the Eagles man.
Jerry Lee Lewis
3/5
So this guy sucks. The album however, is pretty good. It's no where close to Sam Cooke Live At Harlem Square Club but serviceable nonetheless. His vocals were pretty nice but I won't be listening to this one again.
Steely Dan
4/5
I'm gonna give this one a light 4. I really enjoyed Reelin' In The Years and I think the entire album is incredibly solid. Probably not as good as my other fours but is still a really fun listen.
The Waterboys
4/5
This album was exceptionally good. My internet was down the whole day but I listened to it whenever I could. “We Will Not Be Lovers” might’ve been the best track I’ve gotten on this project. So close to a 5 for me.
Holger Czukay
2/5
Didn't love this one, I couldn't really get with it. Holger Czukay's Wikipedia however, is one hell of a read.
2/5
This one wasn't exactly a defining one in my project so far. The album is fine, but didn't do anything to be memorable for me.
The Band
3/5
Yeah, I'm not too sure what to think of this one. I enjoyed it, but nothing was incredibly memorable (besides Long Black Veil). This one's a solid 3 or a light 4 for me.
Peter Gabriel
3/5
That was a really fun album. I liked it a lot. Some of those synths feel before their time.
Otis Redding
4/5
"Don't know much about trigonometry"
And they say celebrities can't be relatable.
Blondie
3/5
This was a fun one. I like disco. Didn't do anything too outstanding for me though.
Nirvana
4/5
Although I'm a moderate fan of Nirvana, I never listened to this album in full. After listening, I found it pretty great. Not "Nevermind" level, but still pretty incredible.
The Who
3/5
This was pretty good. I really liked Armenia In the Sky and Silas Stingy. Great album cover as well.
Cheap Trick
4/5
I think this is good. I think this is REALLY good. This might be the best live album I've gotten so far.
"ALRGHT TOKYOOO. ARE YOU READYYY??"
Garbage
3/5
That was certainly not half-bad. I really liked Queer and the entire tone of the album was cool.
Certified not garbage.
Siouxsie And The Banshees
3/5
Yeah, that was okay. It had about one song I'd listen to again and was mainly uninteresting for me
Jack White
4/5
I liked this a lot. It dragged a little near the end but was generally really good. My favourite song was prolly Sixteen Saltines. I wish he kept that energy throughout.
Elliott Smith
4/5
I'm on a bit of a hot streak. I really enjoyed this album. Elliots voice is soft and melancholic which I liked. Speed Trials stood out to me.
Mylo
3/5
I didn't think I would enjoy that as much as I did. The entire album was pretty great, especially Emotion 98.6.
Scissor Sisters
2/5
Yeah. I was not in the mood for this one. Didn't really enjoy it all that much.
The White Stripes
3/5
A little underwhelming for me. Nothing stood out TOO much besides Seven Nation Army. Surprising I like Jack White's solo stuff more than this.
Radiohead
3/5
First Radiohead album on this list. I liked the first couple songs but I kinda lost interest after a bit. Radiohead's great but they have way stronger stuff than this.
The Stranglers
3/5
That was fun. Not so fun it's 4 worthy but like- I had far from a bad time.
The The
3/5
This was a really nice listen. That 51st state comment though- boy that did not age well.
Iggy Pop
3/5
This was a fun one. I don't think I really jived with it enough to consider it a four but a very solid three for me.
Marvin Gaye
4/5
I love this album about as much as I love this album cover.
I really like the album cover.
David Bowie
3/5
This was the second David Bowie project I've gotten and I like this leagues better than I did Blackstar. Time and The Prettiest Star were a couple of my favourites.
Grateful Dead
2/5
"IVE BEEN LISTENING TO THIS FOR AN HOUR AND IM FIVE TRACKS IN??"
- me, 8 minutes ago
Arctic Monkeys
4/5
Yeah, this slaps. I'm a pretty big Arctic Monkeys fan but I never listened to this one before this. I'll give it a 4.
However, I think Favourite Worst Nightmare and AM deserve a spot on here more.
Joni Mitchell
3/5
Felt pretty meh about the whole thing. They type of album where I wasn't having a bad time, but wished I was listening to something else.
The Smiths
5/5
5/5. No notes.
There just isn't a bad song on it. "Frankly, Mr. Shankly" and "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" might be my two favourite songs I've gotten on this project so far. It's just immaculate. The Queen is dead.
Marty Robbins
3/5
This is definitely a 50's album. Robbins is a pretty good storyteller making it a good time.
Queen
3/5
This is a step below 'A Night At The Opera' for me but is still really fun. Killer Queen is, of course, incredible but nothing much stood out from it besides that.
Led Zeppelin
3/5
I like this one more than Physical Graffiti. It still had its slow, meandering parts, but I generally felt it was better.
Lenny Kravitz
3/5
I enjoyed this. I felt it dragged on a little around 75% in but recovered pretty quickly. Pretty decent album.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
3/5
That felt SO long. The music wasn't bad itself but the double-album makes it overstay its welcome.
Os Mutantes
3/5
That was pretty fun. The Brazilian Beatles get a 3/5 from me.
The Rolling Stones
2/5
This was a pretty nothing album for me. The first song was okay but I didn't feel anything throughout it. Hard rock is not my thing.
The Smashing Pumpkins
3/5
Jesus, that was long. I liked the first part of the second album the most but even that dragged with the last few tracks. Bullet With Butterfly Wings and 1979 were great tracks but don't really make up for the other 26 which, although not bad, were pretty whiny and grading to listen to. Usually 3/5s for me are albums I wouldn't mind listening to again but I don't think that's the case with this one. Solid songs, meh album.
Quicksilver Messenger Service
2/5
This was alright. The guitar was nice but certainly noy my thing. 100 albums down!
Drive Like Jehu
2/5
Yeah this wasn't for me. Psychedelic stuff is fine from time to time but this just wasn't the day for it. Bullet Train to Vegas was pretty alright.
Laura Nyro
2/5
It was okay. Not really the album for me. The trumpets were nice in some parts but mostly felt meandering.
Portishead
4/5
Ooh, this was a really cool album. The hip-hop elements and sampling was really cool along with the singers voice which sounded really nice. VERY solid album by Portishead.
Mj Cole
3/5
This was a really fun one. The first five tracks were definitely my favourites. Although the long run-time, it never felt like it was dragging or out of ideas. Just a really consistent project!
Common
5/5
Holy. This album is nothing short of immaculate. This is my first project involving Kanye West and man, he was such a musical genius. I'm not too religious but Common shares his beliefs in such an amazing way. Definitely a new favourite for me.
MGMT
5/5
God, I love this album. Time to Pretend, Kids, and Electric Feel are some of my favourite songs in general so it was a treat getting this today. The endings a little on the solemn side but still fantastic. Little Dark Age should be on here one day. Fantastic.
Tim Buckley
2/5
Not my thing at all. The vocals were bad, the lyrics were weird, just not my type of album.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
2/5
Maybe I don't like these guys as much as I thought I did. Californication, Scar Tissue, Can't Stop, Under the Bridge all fantastic songs, but that album came off as annoying if anything. The 6 minute sex song was not necessary. Under the Bridge is still great though.
Bill Evans Trio
3/5
Top tier elevator music right here.
Queen
3/5
Probably the worst Queen album I've gotten but still not bad by any means. Father to Son was my favourite track here.
Fleet Foxes
3/5
I like this one. I think it’s missing something to consider it a four for me but still a pretty good time.
The Beta Band
2/5
Kinda a nothing album for me. There wasn't a song that really stood out. Sickass album cover though.
OutKast
4/5
Hell yeah. I'd heard Ms. Jackson before but the second half of the album really surprised me. 'I'll Call B4 I Cum', 'We Luv Deez Hoez', and 'Humble Mumble' were all really fun. Great album by Outkast, excited for their other project.
Bill Callahan
3/5
Eh, pretty lack luster but an album I'd probably listen to again if given the chance.
Dinosaur Jr.
3/5
This was cool. I could hear a lot of my favourite artists inspirations in this one. I thought the average for this would be around 3.50 but apparently people like it less apparently lmao.
Booker T. & The MG's
4/5
This was just a really good time. It doesn't try to be outstanding but the project knows what it is and is great for it. I'd usually give something like this a 3 but I think I liked it enough to garner a 4. Thanks for the great 35 minutes!
Green Day
5/5
What is there to be said. This may be my favourite album on this whole generator. This album is just BACK to BACK to BACK pop punk bangers and as its age grows, its relevancy follows. What an album.
Kendrick Lamar
4/5
Maybe the rymheads were right this ain’t bad.
Paul Simon
3/5
This was a good listen. I didn't take too much away from it but not bad in the slightest. Paul's has a nice voice.
Buena Vista Social Club
3/5
Fun album. Can't say anything bad about it so it gets a three!
Neil Young
3/5
Fine little album. Some songs though, especially the closer, went on for a little longer than I would have hoped.
Korn
4/5
I am shocked at how much I liked this. I never tried out nu-metal but this album isn't half bad. This was genuinely almost a five for me.
Steely Dan
3/5
Pretty alright album! Definitely not better than 'Can't Buy A Thrill', but still a good listen. The first track and title track were my two favourites.
Earth, Wind & Fire
3/5
Very fun album. It's as I expected from Earth, Wind, and Fire. Some funky dance grooves is about as much as you can ask!
Le Tigre
5/5
Just an all-around fantastic album. My friend got me listening to 'Deceptacon' about a year and a half ago and the full album did not disappoint. My favourite track, aside from Deceptacon, was "Whats Yr Take On Cassavetes?'. Maybe some of the best riffs on a project as well.
Slipknot
2/5
This was a hard listen for me. I didn't at all like the first 13 tracks except for the drumming and more melodic parts. The last two, I liked way more, so it deserves a 2 in my books. Not a re-listen for me.
Miles Davis
3/5
'Twas indeed cool. I don't think I could give Jazz below a three. (Blackstar was an exception)
John Lennon
4/5
This was a good album. I wouldn't put it near some of Lennon's other work but good nonetheless. 'Well, Well, Well' was my favourite track on here.
Orbital
3/5
This was a really interesting album. It reminded me of 'Entroducing...'. The first maybe three tracks were really good but I felt from there it just dragged on. Not bad at all though.
Christina Aguilera
3/5
This was surprisingly pretty fun. After the first track, an hour twenty more of run time felt exhausting but I actually didn't mind it. Not one I'd listen to again but still solid.
Kanye West
4/5
This was a really interesting album. As much as I hate him, Kanye is so IN his music it's wild. Never seen an artist interject themselves in an album before. Overall, I liked it. It didn't seem to drag too much despite it's 80 minute runtime. I liked "Be" by Common more though.
Mekons
3/5
This was a really interesting album. It feels ahead of it's time in terms of production. It feels like some indie project from the late 2000's or early 2010's. It's cool all together.
Primal Scream
2/5
This was a really interesting one. So many different genres in here, it was hard to keep track. It wasn't exactly my type of album so it get's a two but it's something that might grow on me.
The Smiths
4/5
GUESS WHOS BACK!
And not a bad album to start off with. With "The Queen is Dead" prolly being my favourite album so far on this project, expectations coming into this were high. I don't think this disappointed. There wasn't a song on this that matched the quality of TQID but still a good album nonetheless.
Hookworms
4/5
4,000 Monthly Listeners? Alright, we'll give 'em a shot.
Honestly, this blew my expectations away. About halfway through the song, I found myself just tapping my foot to it, forgetting I was doing the project. This one's incredibly underrated. I don't know what genre it is but it bangs nonetheless.
Nick Drake
3/5
This one was fine. Nothing particularly outstanding about it so it gets an un-outstanding score. I didn't get annoyed with it at all though.
