I appreciate Michael Harriot's comments on this album in the first chapter of Black AF History. I agree with his uncle Junior: "...Earth, Wind & Fire albums should only be played in their purest form, from beginning to end." Love, love, love.
Eddie Van Halen. I knew more songs on this album than I would have thought.
I only know them because of the Hard To Handle cover and that is the only song I cared to listen to. The music reminds me of theme songs for TV shows.
I would never listen to this album on my own. I can recognize Neil Young's voice and I do not know how.
This was on in the background. I do not think I could listen to this for extended periods. It is easy to drown out, but I appreciate the guitar playing.
Before I even listen, I know this isn't a heavy metal band. Ha! This album is entirely too long for someone who does not like the music.
I won't listen to this. He will not get any royalties from me.
I did not know any of the songs on this album. I would not listen to it again.
You will always miss your mother. John Lennon was a brilliant musician and artist.
The only song I know and like is Maps. Most of the album is heavy for my liking. If I had an angry side of my personality, I would listen to this. Maybe.
If you have always lived with the full Beatles catalog, it is hard to understand why this album is so special.
I like this whole album. I should have bought this in 1990.
The music is different than what the cover portrays. It was surprisingly groovy.
A few songs are familiar and likable. Overall, I can do without them.
This is the album that produced all the Steely Dan songs I know. It was a little funky and groovy.
It's no License to Ill, but it has hard-hitting songs. The Update, I could listen to every day.
I have been familiar with this album for most of my life and never listened to it in its entirety. I enjoyed it.
I may not make it through this one
No. I couldn't get through the whole thing.
Just one big jam session with a couple of familiar songs sprinkled in.
I can listen to a couple of songs, but not the whole album again.
A new listening experience. I liked it.
Oh, yes. The second half of the album is the best. They lost me on Mother.
I am not as familiar with songs from this album. It is fine for background music.
My favorite Beastie Boys album.
The Bee Gees were better with disco.
Maybe if I was out at a club?
I could not get into the songs.
I can listen to these songs. Ziggy Stardust would be fun to play on guitar.
I only liked the songs I already knew.
I can't listen to an album of techno pop.
I really only like popular and later Springsteen. With the band.
Niot as bad as I thought it would be.
Not able to really get into the music.
Nothing about this album is appealing.
This whole album is great.
Good background music while working on mindless spreadsheets.
Of course I liked it. It's ABBA.
Meh. Just a bunch of covers.
This is a remarkable album. I loved every song
I do not like their music.
Solid album for sultry soul.
Not as good as the other album. This sounded dark.
Good album. I could listen to it again.
OK album. I would not listen to the whole thing again.
I can appreciate the music and their abilities but this is just not my style of music.
It sounded like 1968. I wasn't around in 1968. I have no need to revisit it.
It was not bad to listen to, mainly because I recognized some of the songs.
It was not too bad to listen to.
Meh. Not really interested in listening to it.
I like this album. I don't know how it compares to the rest of their discography.
They will not get royalties from me.
I can listen to Metallica while I run or walk.
I respect the song-writing game. The Fifth Dimension and other artists covered her songs, like Stone Souled Picnic and my favorite, Wedding Bell Blues.
There's a riot going on. It's student demonstration time.
Different style of music for me
It sounds very 70s, something my guitar teacher would be into .
This was pretty good. Old style country music.
I liked this whole album while walking and running. It surprised me.
There were some OK songs.
Half the record was cover songs.
About what I expected, I only liked the songs I know.
I only cared for the two songs I already liked. The rest sounded like a screaming banshee.
This is the BEST Michael Jackson album. Don't be distracted by the hype of Thriller and the rest. I mean, they are excellent, but THIS one is the one.
Great album with great songs.
I generally like Aimee Mann, but this was a little folksy for me.
It gets 3 stars for Hotel California alone. The rest of the songs were easy to listen to as well.
Is there such thing as a perfect album? Yes. I know every song on it and it is a pleasure to listen to and enjoy.
I enjoyed this album. I have never really listened to Janis Joplin before and did not know this would be so good.
I do not care for this type of music.
I prefer this to the folks music he made first
It is music I can listen to.
It is amazing how much traction she has gotten based on one album, but it is a masterpiece.
Classic album. Run Charlie run.
