Me Against The World
2PacFor all that I'm aware of Tupac I have never really listened to him. This album is good and tough and real.

I started with the Iggy mix and switched over to Bowie. Maybe Bowie is rounded out a little more, or maybe getting more into the album I got into it a bit more. I can hear how this is the precursor of punk, but also I couldn't get over how unbearably white and "my dad being a rebel" this feels to me? But also to be fair, Iggy Pop is not exactly my style anyway.
Wow this is such a solid 1970s sound. I think once I realized I was listening to psychedelic rock I was more open to the songs, which are silly and weird. But I guess this also classifies as proto-punk? It's a lot to get this right on the tail of Iggy Pop. Anyway, I fully laughed at "Pablo Picasso." What a perfect encapsulation of the self-righteous ridiculousness of a young person. My parents would have been preteens when this album came out and I wonder what they thought of this group, or if they listened at all. I could imagine my dad being into them, but maybe they were too weird? I think I'll ask.
Somehow both nostalgic to high school and not for me
