Its very soft, yet enthralling. It does a very good job at building up the momentum in their songs and its a very smooth and calming listens.Extremely catchy too 7.7
Fuck this website for giving me a 2 hour album with his nasally ass voice. If i get behing his vocals,i would really, love this record. Will relisten in a while.Good mix of genres but goddamn billy open your nose 6.7
Honestly didnt expect much going into this, but its insanely groovy and calming and bound to get you in a good mood.An absolute staple of the disco movement and one ill be returning to if im in the mood to dance 8.1
Damn, the beatles really overshadowed other bands in the 60s.Honestly prefer some of this psych to em.Also,GOKU?? 8.7
Definitely some filler but overall, its pretty groovy and just a fun listen ngl.I do think its a lil overrated tho 8.1
On this,he talks more about home than politics, and it has a wholesome and emotional feel to it as a result. His vocals are really good and simple, idk why i always expect to hate em.I think thats also why i love this, its the simplicity of it.Hes not trynna do anything hes not capable of 9.5
Ella here is great here dont get me wrong, and its clear gershwin is a great songwriter as you can tell from these beautiful tracks, but its just way too long.I get that back then it probably wasnt seen as a casual listen type thing and in reality it was a 5 day show where she performed these songs but for the sake of this im gonna take the length into account. It took me about 2 days to finish surprisingly enough tho, thought it would take longer tbh.I dont wanna hear vocal jazz for a while yet now iwl.but if its not as long i will persevere. Some of the songs toward the end honestly js suck tho which is interesting cause i havent really heard a vj song which i havent liked. Also, those instrumentals were, pretty unneeded Skill:8 Actuality:6.5
Such a raw and honest voice and one that was taken from us too early 8.7
Sm more creative than the smiths, such a dreamy and ethereal project, kinda suffers from its length tho 9.6
Honestly the only thing that brings this down at times is the vocals, not to say that i dont like them cause i do.and god the lyrics,i like dirt i like dirt i like dirt 8.5
Nice spin on elvis to the new era at the time, some stinkers in here but also some absolute bangers.Overall pretty all over the place but enjoyable 7
Though it doesnt reach the highs of their sophomore effort, that dont matter cause its mf black sabbath, theyre almost perfect regardless 9.4
Just a calming listen, didnt really pick up on the african elements though apart from that trumpet in the first song sounding like an elephant 7.5
So fucking cinematic and genre bending when i was js expecting a traditional rnb album. She honestly infuses every single genre here except for maybe metal or country but thats still a crazy amount of genres.Such an amazing concept as well which i definitely need to delve more into 9.0
Jesus on skateboard No but seriously this guys vocals are so emotive and might be some of my favourite out of the grunge scene 9.0
