Purple Rain by Prince
Dec 29 2025

First rate. No sleeper songs. Good variety

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Dec 30 2025

Heard of Mr. Drake but never heard his music. Mellow jazz-folk works for me.

Hotel California by Eagles
Jan 02 2026

Earlier Eagles albums better. HC lacks the edge of On the Border, the freshness of the Eagles, and the heart of Desparado

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Jan 03 2026

Fine setup for Revolver & Sgt Pepper

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Jan 04 2026

The #1 headphones album of my youth! So many great songs. Forgot how awesome 1983 is. Jimi is still king of the wah-wah pedal.

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Jan 07 2026

Love Her Madly, LA Woman, & Riders on the Storm crush it. Now I wish I’d bought it back in the day. Loved The Doors first album

Tommy by The Who
Jan 08 2026
Alien Lanes by Guided By Voices
Jan 09 2026

A couple of these guys also recorded with Boston Spaceships - I dearly loved their Let it Beard album.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Jan 10 2026

Prefer OK Computer & the Bends, but this is fine Radiohead, too

Your Arsenal by Morrissey
Jan 11 2026

First few cuts had heavy guitar to offset that voice, then not so much

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Jan 12 2026

My favorite cut was the Orc Battle Hymn - just kidding. Most cuts sound like Orc Battle Hymns. Disposable Heroes was interesting. Well-executed metal is still angry af music and just doesn’t appeal.

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Jan 13 2026

Good variety. Jack by himself or with Meg is far superior to Raconteurs

NEU! 75 by Neu!
Jan 14 2026

Never heard of Neu! Like their sound

S&M by Metallica
Jan 16 2026

The orchestra brought it up from one star. Hope they had excellent hearing protection

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Jan 17 2026

Classic! Light years beyond some chick with a guitar

My Generation by The Who
Jan 18 2026

Well, I did NOT die before I got old, but I still loves me Who!

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Jan 19 2026

Never listened to Springsteen until I met Cindy. She played him all the time! E Street sounds so good..

Viva Hate by Morrissey
Jan 21 2026

Dude’s got pipes!

The La's by The La's
Jan 22 2026

Never tired of hearing There She Goes on the radio, but didn’t know the artists’ name. Solid album worth more listening

S.F. Sorrow by The Pretty Things
Jan 23 2026

Suppose these folks listened to the Beatles? Wish I’d known of them in ‘68 - Jr. High me would have given them 5 stars

Out of Step by Minor Threat
Jan 25 2026

Couldn’t make it to the end - awful!

The Coral by The Coral
Jan 28 2026

Where have you folks been all my life???!!!

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Jan 31 2026

Awesome!

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
Feb 05 2026

Zappa gonna Zappa. Some fine stuff intermixed with “other”

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Feb 08 2026

I could listen to these folks all day

Exile In Guyville by Liz Phair
Feb 09 2026

Love this record, especially F**k and Run. Sorry I never listened to her before now

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Feb 12 2026
Fisherman's Blues by The Waterboys
Feb 13 2026

First heard the song Fisherman’s Blues covered by The Slambovian Circus of Dreams and really loved it. Happy to hear the original. These folks are good!

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Feb 14 2026

Old Charlie stole the handle and the train it won’t stop going. No way to slow down

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Feb 17 2026

Dark Side of the Moon wins, but pretty good. Seemed like some filler tracks to fill out the double album

Truth by Jeff Beck
Feb 18 2026

His album Jeff was stuck in my CD player for a long time. This is not as good. Rod Stewart vocals are distracting

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Feb 27 2026
Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
Mar 01 2026

Belle & Sebastian team up with Fountains of Wayne, George Harrison on guitar. Meany replays on this one!

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Mar 07 2026

The Stones’ best. Gimme Shelter & You Can’t Always Get What You Want - way to start and finish an album!

A Northern Soul by The Verve
Mar 09 2026

Sorry I’m just hearing these folks for the first time

Playing With Fire by Spacemen 3
Mar 19 2026

Had some moments, long drones dragged it down

Elephant by The White Stripes
Mar 21 2026

Cindy & I saw Meg & Jack at the Masonic in Detroit a couple of times. Loved this band!

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Mar 22 2026
Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Mar 25 2026
Moby Grape by Moby Grape
Mar 27 2026

One of those bands from my youth that I’d heard of, but never heard. Wish we had streaming back in the day!

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Mar 28 2026

Blew me away on first hearing and it still does

OK Computer by Radiohead
Mar 31 2026

Back in the day I had a CD player in my office cubicle. I gave Charlie my supervisor Bright Eyes’ Digital Ash in a Digital Urn & I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning to have a listen. He came back the next day with OK Computer for me. That disc was stuck in the player for a long time! Still blows me away to this day, especially Paranoid Android. Charlie didn’t like Bright Eyes (too liberal for him, I’m sure), but he also loaned me Radiohead’s The Bends which is also quite good. Nate, another office music lover asked what I was listening to and responded “Figures!” when I said Radiohead. What a nice compliment

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Apr 04 2026

E Street & the Boss at their peak

The Message by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
