Never been a Beatles fan. A mix of songs that must have been radio favoutites as I recognise them other hearing for first time. Seems like a bit of a mish mash of songs and styles. Where the hell did country sounding "What goes on" come from?
Not the usual chaotic music I associate with jazz which seems to be instruments fighting for thier place. This is very mellow and chilled, various instruments talking with each other not at each other.
Evokes images of quiet bar or club sitting sipping drinks slowly with the music washing over me.
First saw Polly Jean live in 2025 and this album has similar feeling to that show. Great range of styles from Big Exit to quieter more subdued The Mess We're In with Thom Yorke then back to harder Kamikazee and This is Love.
Requires more than one listen to appreciate the lyrics.
Found lyrics, other than incesent nah nahs, of E-Pro almost imcomprehensible.
Top tracksfor me are Girl and Black Tambourine.
Overall album is listenable but not one I would seek out.
Mood music. Smoke filled club large leather chairs sitting back very mellow mood sipping espresso martinis.
Five Years is a great opening. I have never heard album in entirity before but did recognise Starman and Ziggy Stardust. Suffragette City and Rock and Roll Suicide also favourite tracks.
I have always liked listening to albums with a theme or common thread through them and this gave me that. Now added to Tidal favorites
Lyrically the man can tell a story however I do not enjoy his voice.
Musically certainly falls into soft/pop rock category. A couple of nice guitar riffs and sax solos.👍
Hmm BigBand music not a favourite of mine. Other jazz took me places bit this was just back ground music.
Very blues driven album. Been Down so Long and Cars Hissing by my Windows nice bluesy feel to it
Love her madly, Riders on the Storm are classics.
Hyacith house good.
I have heard of Manic Street Preachers before but do not recognise any of the songs. On first listen very unforgettable .
Zimbra was such a promising opening but I found the rest of the album difficult to listen to. It became somewhat monotonous.
Glimpses of great songwriting talents on show but it seems John was very troubled during writing and making this album.
Rap is not my thing but do have to admire the story telling and rhymes. Definately a drug culture theme.
Much prefer Australian hip hop and rap.
Like the music - great drums in particular but also guitar work.
Also lyrically very good just not a fann of the screamo delivery.
Listenable hip hop but once is enough
I enjoyed the album, short fast and punchy.
Have always found lead vocalist Howling Pelle's voice interesting, particularly on opening track.
Not my prefered genre but have to admire songwriting and story telling in lyrics.
Interesting sounds but obviously lyrics not understood.
More my style of sound than typical British and American pop and rock.
I was 8 when this record was released and watched the Monkees show on TV. Taste in music has changed a lot😊.
This sounds very "manufactured". I am sure there were rooms of poor souls churning out lyrics and music for bands like The Monkees.
Interesting album. Similarities between each of the tracks enough to keep it interesting but still a common feel to the sound. No real outstanding tracks but overall a good listen.
Very chill album. Nice beats and smooth piano.
Stevie Wonder's voice is one of a kind.
Beetlebum great opener followed by Song 2 also a winner. Some tracks seem 'experimental' and I think the experiment failed.
On Your Own became repetitive and boring.
Love this album full of well known songs and even the lesser known tracks enhance the album.
Amazing lyrics with great arrangement and wicked piano playing.
Not sure what my preferred genre or type of music is but this is not it.
I knew only the first song on this album. Most songs are easy listening however have to question some of the experimental songs in "Cerebal" section.
Overall okay for back ground listening but did drag on at times.
At last something not mainstream pop listening.
This album has been a favourite for many years. Interesting lyrically, great musicianship with bonus flute. Aqualung and Locomotive Breath favourite tracks.
My first Hendrix experience was as a teen hearing "All Along the Watchtower' on late night AM radio and been a fan ever since.
What a debut album Are You Experienced must have been in 1967, revolutionary. As expected the guitar work is amazing but so too is the drumming on many of the tracks
Another hip hop album to endure. I guess in the 1990s the lyrics meant something to many.
For me there are big sections of repeated lyrics which just add to the boredom.
So many memorable songs.
Thought I had heard all the songs on the album until up popped Vienna, what a nice surprise.
Very easy listening album.
I guess this album has deep significance for the right audience but I am not part of that audience.
My first time hearing My Bloody Valentine. Some tracks vocals are too low. I enjoyed most of the instumentation however sometimes the guitar fuzz is over done.
Have never listened to GNR album before but some of the songs are memoranle. Favourite tracks Welcome to the Jungle, Mr Brownstone and Sweet Child o Mine.
Good voice, easy listening.
I recognised many of the tracks as covers and have say in all cases the originals are superior.
Least favourite track My Colouring Book also arrangemnet of Mockingbird not enjoyable.
Don't like rap and although he is a very a talented musician and wordsmith he has some serious flaws as a human being.
I tried to listen to entire album but 2 1/2 songs in was the limit.
Jazz and definately experimental jazz as this album is an aquired taste. I enjoyed the listen but am sure those with a more musical background appreciated it much more.
Guitars and drum beats awesome, not so much the some of the lyrics delivery.
Kerosine great track.
Can understand Murder Ballads not for everyone however for me it is an amazing album. Each song a story and the music just seems to fit each one perfectly.
Relaxing, interesting and will listen again.
I have certainly listened to worse since embarking on 1001 albums journey.
Boring. Same beat ovet and over. May have had social messages back in its day.
I do not like his voice or "singing style". Perhaps he should have been a poet rather than a singer.
Certainly not another Rumours but that was always going to be difficult to follow up. Having said that, Tusk is still a great albulm. Best track probably Sara but hard to pick.
Interesting listen, but did get a little monotonous.
Metropolis and The Model were favourite tracks.
First listen to entire album and apart from singles Clint Eastwood and 19-2000 music was a little above average.
First time listening to a Madona album and pleasently surprised. Not the pop sound I expected. Production is so good musically many different sounds and styles to enjoy. I found myself thinking how good it would have been to see this album preformed live.
Had heard School's Out the single before, who hasn't but never the whole album. Loved the two rocking opening tracks then getting into so many other musical genre was interesting.
Apart fromWalk this way I sid not enjoy this album but then I am not a fan of hip hop. It becomes monotonous at times.
Perhaps it a feature of disco music but damn that drum beat is boring, song after song.
Enjoyed this album far more than I expected. A couple of the songs were a bit too traditional "whiney" country for my liking but overall a nice l8sten
Boring background music. If this is Phil Spector's Wall of Sound I dont want to hear it again.
First listen to an Eels album, Susan's House pick of the songs.
Some nice musical pieces and lyrics okay but all just a bit depressing.
So many remixes all so different. I think I found the original 1973 release which is certainly better than the Iggy remix.
The guitars on this are outstanding.
Nothing notable about this album. Lyrics and delivery not inspiring. Some of the music arrangements were fine but not enough to listen to again.
Giggy Smile was first track on album worth listening to and gave me hope but this was soon dashed.
Not for me thank you.
Interesting album, a couple of songs with various styles in the one song.
So many different musical styles. Solsbury hill stand out track.
Opening bars gave me Saturday Night Fever vibe but gladly moved on quickly from that.
Musical style and sound similar to The Cat Empire, fun, lively and entertaining even given I did not undetstand a word of lyrics.
After listening to Iggy and the Stooges I was not excited about this one. However Lust for Life and The Passenger were surprisingly good. Still not quite enough to rate a 4.
Had never heard of Sisters of Mercy and did not know what to expect. Great rock album. Dominion and This Corrosion were standouts.
Love the theatre and big rock sounds of this album not to forget the vocals of Matt Belamy. Starlight, knights of Cydonia and Starlight are all great tracks.
Easy listening but how could this be classified as anything other than soft rock or pop rock? Marakesh Express an obvious classic.
I heard nothing here to make me think Prince is the musical genius others claim him to be.
