Grace by Jeff Buckley
Mar 06 2026

Somebody in a 1 star review referred to this album as a self-indulgent wankfest and while I'm inclined to agree I also think self-indulgent wankfest is my literal favorite genre. IDK everything about Jeff Buckley just works for me. He's so extra and leaves it all out there but it feels 100% honest. His vocals are unmatched but you can hear his influence in a ton of people that came after him. In a world full of sadbois he is forever my #1 sadboi. As an album it feels really cohesive and fluid. The fact that he can weave together original rock with jazz standards and hymns without that feeling disjointed or too try-hard is kind of amazing. No skips but fav by far is Lover You Should Have Come Over. I can't think of a better breakup song and it makes me cry if I listen too hard. Love love love

It makes me a bad American but I just can't get behind RHCP. A few songs I like but still you hear them twice a week just existing in society because they get played so much. I find the vocal performances kind of annoying, album was a bit of a slog to get through.

She is a sorceress. The range on this album is great. Some feels so intimate like she's singing softly directly to you. The bigger moments have such awesome angsty buildup.

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald

A little too sweet and cutesy for me. Love her more scaled down stuff with more improv though.

Searching For The Young Soul Rebels by Dexys Midnight Runners
Mar 26 2026

A couple really fun songs on here. The vocals border on ridiculous throughout the album and made it hard to enjoy as a whole. I think I'll stick to dancing to Come On Eileen at 1 wedding per year and otherwise skip these guys

I am reasonably confident this was added as a joke.
