Arc Of A Diver by Steve Winwood

Feels like listening to an album of 80’s movie montage songs but not in a bad way

Station To Station by David Bowie
Mar 16 2026

Melodic and magical and full of soul and life and sadness and glee. This was a journey I really enjoyed taking.

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Mar 17 2026

Legendary wails, iconic vocals, funky beats...the song 'Changes'. Absolutely mental that this album came out 50 years ago because if it came out today it would be just as iconic. Trailblazer for the metal genre. What an absolute dream of an album.

Mar 18 2026

great sound, lots of soul, and overall very funky and enjoyable. butttt i did find the songs a bit repetitive and long at times. long album.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Mar 19 2026

Money for Nothing is SUCH a banger but the whole album is really enjoyable

Tapestry by Carole King
Mar 20 2026

didn't realize 2 songs I knew of were on this album! Wonderful listen.

Copper Blue by Sugar
Mar 22 2026

sounds like all of the 90's music I never listened to because I didn't care for it. Technically it's very good, but I don't like the singers voice very much and I didn't find the album very compelling.

Roots by Sepultura
Mar 23 2026

what an absolute treat to discover 30 years after the fact. Incredible album incredible band. Absolute banger.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Mar 24 2026

exactly what I needed to lift me up

We're Only In It For The Money by The Mothers Of Invention
Mar 25 2026

I found this enjoyable in a different way. Very funny and interesting. I laughed out loud several times and really appreciated my time with this album. That said - I don't really see it as a casual listen that I could find myself putting on for normal enjoyment. Overall quite a trip.

Vulnicura by Björk
Mar 26 2026

Sometimes chaotic, sometimes beautiful, sometimes kinda annoying. But overall a pretty unique and interesting package that makes me want to try out some more Björk.

Smash by The Offspring
Mar 27 2026

absolute banger of an album and i cannot get enough of it

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Mar 28 2026

so boring i could barely get through it!

Moby Grape by Moby Grape
Mar 30 2026

Quintessential old school rock vibes. This album sounds like how a thrift store record smells.

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Apr 01 2026

Classic blues. Just what I needed on a rainy dreary Tuesday.

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
Apr 03 2026

It sounds great but it’s just not for me. I don’t love how it often felt like one long, boring song.

Penance Soiree by The Icarus Line
Apr 05 2026

Unexpectedly rips! Never even heard of this band but I dig it

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Apr 06 2026

Fun and upbeat I dig it and will try out more of their stuff

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Apr 07 2026

This rocked way harder than I was expecting. Not the dad rock I anticipated

1999 by Prince
Apr 08 2026

My stepmom loves Prince so I've heard a lot of his stuff over the years and always thought it was decent enough. I wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did though! Funky and fun, technically impressive, and overall a very good time listening to this.

Space Ritual by Hawkwind
Apr 09 2026

One single drum beat over and over across an entire album full of 7+ minute songs, with uninteresting vocals, and a few solid guitar riffs. I definitely did not need to listen to this album before I died.

Apr 11 2026

Pretty good, I liked it enough to potentially listen to it again if it comes up in a playlist

Imagine by John Lennon
Apr 12 2026

As much as I’d like to give it 5 stars, ‘Jealous Guy’ is kinda messed up knowing what I know about John Lennon, and ‘Oh Yoko!’ is a big miss for me.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Apr 14 2026

Quite an operatic experience overall, which I always find myself appreciating. There's such a weird dichotomy, though, between the badass cover and album title and the artists name being Meat Loaf and being a guy who does not appear to be badass at all.

Murder Ballads by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Apr 16 2026

It took a couple of songs for this to grow on me, but grow on me it did! Loved the storytelling throughout the album.

Slippery When Wet by Bon Jovi
Apr 17 2026

Full of classics even if I’m not a huge Bon Jovi guy

Document by R.E.M.
Apr 18 2026

Some real lame shit if you ask me

Modern Kosmology by Jane Weaver
Apr 19 2026

It’s not terrible but also not memorable and not really for me

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Apr 21 2026

I really enjoyed my time with it but 17 songs felt like a lot at times

Mott by Mott The Hoople
Apr 22 2026

They’re solid enough but they do also sound like several other better bands all at the same time

Apr 23 2026

This album is like being in a wonderful dream until Jamaican Jerk-Off rips you out of that dream and then you have to spend the next 10 mins trying to fall back asleep

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Apr 24 2026

Classic rock and blues sound

So by Peter Gabriel
Apr 26 2026

Surprisingly a banger!

Jack Takes the Floor by Ramblin' Jack Elliott
Apr 27 2026

As a white stripes lover I really enjoyed hearing the influence Jack had on Jack

Van Halen by Van Halen
Apr 30 2026

What’s not to love??

Sound Affects by The Jam
May 03 2026

It was fine but not super memorable for me

B-52's by The B-52's
May 04 2026

I wanted to like it more than I actually liked it. The vocals can be grating and their shtick wore thin by the end. Overall not a terrible band in small doses, but listening to the entire album is not the way.

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
May 05 2026

Love Zeppelin but curious why this album is on the list. Are there more? Zeppelin II is better.

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
May 06 2026

This is some cocktail hour mingling music. Some conference call hold music. Department store music. Pre-dancing wedding music.

Savane by Ali Farka Touré
May 07 2026

I really vibed with this

My Generation by The Who
May 09 2026

Im sorry how many songs was it? 30? Good lord. I enjoyed it for the most part but that’s a bit much for any band

LP1 by FKA twigs
May 10 2026

Cool vibes I like it

Real Life by Magazine
May 11 2026

I wasn’t expecting much and I was pleasantly surprised!

Elephant by The White Stripes
May 12 2026

Best Stripes album. Listening to it is like putting on a comfortable old hoodie that smells like home. I can’t possibly count how many times I’ve listened to this album over the years but every time I do I am reminded of how brilliant it is.

Triangle by The Beau Brummels
May 15 2026

Very Beatlesy which is kinda interesting I guess

Repeater by Fugazi
May 17 2026

More punk than expected

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
May 18 2026

I thought I knew what I was getting but I was wrong this was fun

May 19 2026

Exactly the kind of fancy boy dramatic rock music I live for

Miriam Makeba by Miriam Makeba
May 20 2026

Beautiful and enjoyable tbh

May 21 2026

Not 100% my thing but I enjoyed it well enough

Nixon by Lambchop
May 22 2026

Snoozefest

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
May 23 2026

This was enjoyable and prior to listening this I wouldn’t have been able to name the band that played Lovefool but now I can!

Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves
May 24 2026

Not a country guy but I am a Kacey Musgraves guy

Django Django by Django Django
May 25 2026

Started off as a 3 and worked its way down to a 2 with its repetitive songs without much energy

Parachutes by Coldplay
May 26 2026

Coldplay isn’t my jam

Fisherman's Blues by The Waterboys
May 27 2026

I liked the sound mostly but a double album of something I don’t love felt like a little much at times and the whole thing also felt kinda like county fair music

Closer by Joy Division
May 28 2026

I wanted to like it more than I actually liked it

Two Dancers by Wild Beasts
May 29 2026

I listened to it but it made no real impression on me

Ctrl by SZA
May 31 2026
In Our Heads by Hot Chip
Jun 01 2026

It’s ok alternative dance type music but I’ve heard better

Arc Of A Diver by Steve Winwood
Jun 03 2026

Feels like listening to an album of 80’s movie montage songs but not in a bad way

I'm Your Man by Leonard Cohen
Jun 05 2026

Did not expect to like this at all but I found it interesting and kinda haunting

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
Jun 06 2026

I almost like them more than I do. Almost.

Arular by M.I.A.
Jun 07 2026

I’d love to separate the art from the artist but she’s way too Trumpy for me to ignore

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Jun 09 2026

It just kinda phased in and out of existence as I listened to it. A whole lot of not much.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jun 10 2026

More Chili Peppers sounding like the Chili Peppers. Not sure what else can be said.

Fever Ray by Fever Ray
Jun 11 2026

Surprised by how much the chill melodies and vocals landed with me. I actually listened to it while lifting instead of switching to an audiobook or podcast like I normally do.

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Jun 12 2026

7 songs, 1 hour 46 minutes is diabolical. I guess I just don’t really like Miles Davis very much. This is my 2nd attempt to like him and 2nd failure.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Jun 13 2026

I’m a simple man, I see white stripes I give 5 stars. I remember being disappointed by the softness of this album after it opens heavy with blue orchid, but it grew on me over the years. Iconic imagery. Love this.

Slanted And Enchanted by Pavement
Jun 14 2026

This album oscillates between “slice of white bread” and “this is the most annoying thing I’ve ever heard”. It’s a good thing the mixing is shit because if I had to hear the singer say “AND IM TRYING IM TRYIN IM TRYIN” any louder I would’ve driven my car off of an overpass to make it stop. Seriously why is that a song? Who wants to listen to that? Every single person in this band sounds like they’re intermediate level at what they do. Was it really this easy to be in an alt band in the 90’s? Every time I see alternative 90’s come up I know I’m in for some lame ass bullshit. I was a kid in the 90’s and it turns out I was right all along for never liking the alt music of the time. This list oftentimes feels like it should just be named “a list of 1,001 albums” because I absolutely did not need to listen to this.

Underwater Moonlight by The Soft Boys
Jun 19 2026

It’s fine I guess this project is getting stale I think

Butterfly by Mariah Carey
Jun 21 2026

Solid pop album but 1 hour 40 mins is crazy

World Clique by Deee-Lite
Jun 22 2026

Didn’t find it interesting or engaging
