Remain In Light by Talking Heads

Not my fave talking heads record but it’s still a banger

Superunknown by Soundgarden
Mar 18 2026

All butt rock vocalists use these vocals as the blueprint. Crazy drums and riffs on top of everything. I recognize more of these tracks after the first minute than I realized I would. Fell on Black Days, Head Down, Spoonman….what’s not to love!! 4/5

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Mar 19 2026

Really delicious synths and of course the hits are worth it but the rest of the album is forgettable on first listen. Witness and I’ll kiss you are fun. I think I’d like to revisit.

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Mar 20 2026

I don’t think I had listened to this all the way through before!! What a rollercoaster of emotions. The skit where she fell off the bed made me LOL. I think my favorite line was “hold your horses I’m about to show you who the king of intercourse is”

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Mar 22 2026

She walked so Adele could run. Literally didn’t know will you still love me tomorrow was a cover until today 💀 Lots of surprise bangers on here

Unhalfbricking by Fairport Convention
Mar 23 2026

Unassuming at first but turns into an epic. A sailor’s life truly swells

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Mar 24 2026

Starts really strong but doesn’t go anywhere in particular

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Mar 25 2026

Not sure what to expect with this one. I think I’ve listened to later works with my dad. First track gives way to some supersonic highway type feelings. Really stunning to think this was done before the 80s. The rest of my notes disappeared but this was a fun one to commute to and a good precursor to a Project Hail Mary viewing later on. Not sure I’ll revisit without the influence of something…

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Mar 26 2026

Approaching this with a perhaps misplaced sense of dread cause this just isn’t my thing. Them Bones has Guitar Hero Nostalgia for me but the rest of this is really dragging Rooster is fine I guess Just unlikeable whining through most of the record. I like the chugging guitar riffs but the vocals often kill it for me. When this ended I said audibly thank god this is over. 2/5 for them bones alone

Loveless by My Bloody Valentine
Mar 27 2026
Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
Mar 30 2026

I loved the piano, Underrated Bowie album.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Mar 31 2026

First ever listen through. Not my usual thing but fun to listen to with undeniable influence

The Age Of The Understatement by The Last Shadow Puppets
Apr 01 2026

Like more orchestral arctic monkeys—slinky but in a cringey way that they were able to wrangle later on in their albums.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Apr 04 2026

More hootin and hollerin.

Apr 05 2026

She is just such a diva Went back and listened to the title track twice A change is gonna come gave me full body chills

Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Apr 06 2026

First track rips I listened to a lot of future funk in my early 20s that this clearly directly influenced. You can tell gorillaz is influenced by this too The rest kind of devolves into cringiness

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Apr 09 2026

So much yelling. Gets really repetitive but the Nostalgia Hits are still really good.

The United States Of America by The United States Of America
Apr 13 2026

Questionable. Good for a quiet listen on a substance. Really hits you over the head

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Apr 14 2026
White Ladder by David Gray
Apr 17 2026

Very guy with a guitar at the party, but this time he’s got a synth and drum machine. First two songs were promising but the rest proved to be forgettable at best, grating at worst.

Apr 19 2026

Mehhhhh. Proto arctic monkeys with a twist that’s more grating than anything else. DNF

Apr 21 2026

I’m never going to choose this style when listening on my own. This kind of music thrives a few beers in, live, with your pals at the pub. I’ve got respect for a big ensemble like this though By the time I got to ‘Fiesta’ I was thoroughly overstimulated

Architecture And Morality by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
Apr 22 2026

Loved souvenir off this and the music video was amazing but the rest was forgettable

Dry by PJ Harvey
Apr 24 2026
Dance Mania by Tito Puente
May 01 2026

This was awesome! Cant wait to drink a cocktail in the backyard to this. Favorites included estoy Siempre junto a ti and Mi Chiquita Quiere Bembe

May 06 2026

HEARTBREAKING this man’s voice has so much soul he’s been through it!!!

In It For The Money by Supergrass
May 07 2026

More hazy Brit rock…there’s a lot of this in this compilation! I’m not wowed

Faust IV by Faust
May 08 2026

I’m too sleep deprived for this

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
May 09 2026

Not their best but there were some undeniable moments.

Scott 2 by Scott Walker
May 13 2026

Hooting and hollering/this man will just say anything and it sounds pretty/a Jazz Club staple

Urban Hymns by The Verve
May 16 2026

Bittersweet symphony is the saving grace on this. I don’t care about the rest tbh!

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
May 19 2026

Not my fave talking heads record but it’s still a banger

Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu
May 21 2026

Just an infectious voice. Kind of slow at bits but the way this album flows is so incredible

Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
May 23 2026

Some strong points but this is more of a blueprint for current rap than something to return to, imp

Stipes voice is a little grating for a full albums worth. Otherwise hypnotizing.

Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Jun 25 2026

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed listening. Top hits were it happened in Monterrey and our love is here to stay
