Not the type of music I would seek out. Good background music when sitting in front of the fireplace reading a book or having a quiet evening with another person. A little bit boring and repetitive

Rather boring, unoriginal indie rock. I do not recommend. So boring you won't even fall asleep to it.

Surprising interpretation of Jimi Hendrix's Little Wing. Layla reminds me of FM radio when I was growing up as well as the scene from Goodfellas.....

Tina is very talented and an icon in the music world. That being said, I am NOT a fan and would never have listened to this album if it wasn't for this app. I knew a few songs. I listened to the expanded edition with extra tracks. Will probably never listen to this record again..... it's not bad, just not my thing.

Surprisingly good! Progressive and new wave elements. Albums like this paved the way for albums like 90125, Discipline and Abacab.

An enjoyable listen. I enjoyed the rendition of Parchmen farm. I only knew of the version by cactus, as well as the version by Mose Allison.

Definitely some drug-induced garage rock. Neo-Psychedelia. Hints of Velvet Underground, The Rolling Stones, The Stooges mixed with Oasis/Beatlesque vocal harmonies and Pink Floydian effects. Some influence from trance & electronica as well. Intrigued on the first pass..... Going in for second run now, this time my mind is slightly "altered"😜

An interesting album. If the Beatles did a rock opera. Sort of a Sergeant Pepper's lonely hearts Club Band done by somebody else that sounds like the Beatles. I enjoyed this record

...Not bad. I like the actual music but the vocals in another language ruins it because it overpowers the music by being way to loud in the mix.

Reminds me of being in a bar in Woodside, Queens with a bunch of drunken NYPD and FDNY guys after a line-of-duty funeral. (I'm retired NYPD and have lived in those moments)

Typical, predictable but enjoyable indie rock. I like this record better than their Hotel Yankee Foxtrot album. This is a good album because it is what you expect to hear when listening to Wilco! Nothing strange, no new recording techniques, just what you come to expect from wilco. Being predictable and being typical is not a bad thing sometimes. I enjoy this record more than I thought I would.

Good voice. Not the type of music I listen too. Did not like anti-white message of the song "Interlude: Tina Taught Me". The constitution gives this artist the right to compose and write whatever she feels. That same constitution says I can rebuke her message if I so choose. Instead, I'm not going to continue listening to her racist drivel.

Ramstein but without the industrial sound, distorted metal guitars and heaviness, with the lyrics sung in French. I was a bit surprised by how much I enjoyed this strange record.....

Call it post-punk, new wave or extremely juvenile DIY garage rock.... No matter the tag, it's a fun, early 80's record. Enjoyable! Add it to my "guilty pleasures" list.

An excellent classic punk rock record. It sounds like if the Ramones were from Ireland and were heavily influenced and wanted to sound like Buzzcocks and Sex Pistols. Excellent record that is a lot of fun to listen to! Highly recommended..........

The only SOAD I like. Got into them when I saw them on Ozzfest '98. They were different, they were weird and they were heavy..... Great album!

Not a fan of kings of leon but I am familiar with their music. They are talented group of musicians, the red good songs and the production on the record was overall very good as I said I'm not a fan but I can appreciate what they do.

Heard the songs on this album more times than I care to remember. An overrated band but this was actually interesting. I did enjoy the different takes, the unplugged the acoustic versions of some of their most overplayed songs.

Proto-Shoegaze music. Not a big fan of the very trebly production and tinny sounding vox.

Classic! I was turned to Little Richard by Lemmy from Motörhead. Little Richard was Lemmy's biggest influence... 5 stars out of respect for Little Richard and his influence on Lemmy. This influence contributed to some of the greatest music ever recorded by bands like Hawkwind and the immortal MOTORHËAD

Boring indie rock. They don't live up to all of the hype I've heard about them.

Another boring indie-rock release. Why does this app give me nothing but shitty indie bands to listen to? More like "1001 shitty indie records to hear before you die with one or two good records"

Not my style. Relaxing, chill background music. It kinda grew on me. A retro-feel, whilst released in 1992, it has a 1940's feel at times.... is it just me or is that intentional?

Relaxing & mellow. A nice combo of folk, jazz and soft rock. Acoustic Steely Dan type stuff. Enjoyable, feel good tunes.

As a HUGE fan of Metallica from their inception I always have thoroughly enjoyed this album. Any of the songs from their first 3 albums (Kill'em All, Ride The Lightning, Master Of Puppets) done with an orchestra is cool with me......

Terribly boring indie rock from an overrated band. This band never delivers. Their reputation among fans and critics does NOT live up to their musical output. This record sucks. Boring snoozfest..... They are intentionally sloppy which makes things even worse. Being a shitty musician is cool to them. I wouldn't recommend this to anybody unless you're one of those retarded hipster types.

Great record. A few well known tunes with a few "deep tracks" that are amazing.

Wow! Was not expecting to enjoy this record! The cover is quite deceiving and does not accurately reflect the contents of this album. It has the classic 60's folk sound as well as some "heavy" songs (heavy for the time period... don't expect to hear anything like Slayer or Celtic Frost) that dabble in proto-punk/metal. A very nice surprise indeed!

Normal 70's pop-folk rock with a classic rock radio staple to open the record. Not something I'd reach for but definitely listenable.

Peter Gabriel always provides and eclectic mix of styles on his records. Progressive rock, symphonic rock, new wave and electronica as well as World music makes everyone of his albums a listening adventure. A journey to distance lands at times!

Dolly's music always makes me smile. Her good heart was carried in her voice. RIP Dolly....

One of the best of the Circle Jerks catalogue!

No matter what you think of The Boss these days, it doesn't remove any of the greatness of this record. EVERY song is amazing! This is a record that many people in the later Baby Boomer generation, most Gen X'ers and the older millennials own no matter what your favorite music genre happens to be. If you never listened to Born To Run you absolutely need to....

Calenture is the fourth album by The Triffids. It was released in the fall 1987 and explores themes of insanity, deception and the feelings and results of a nomadic lifestyle —the title refers to a fever suffered by sailors during long hot voyages. Great album of typical 80's new wave/pop mix. An enjoyable record that as a former 80's kid I'd highly recommend.

Not my thing

Shitty, run-of-the-mill indie rock. I read their bio and it said they formed in Brooklyn so I was excited! 3 great bands that I love came out of Brooklyn... Type O Negative, Biohazard, Life Of Agony... and there are still a bunch that I could rattle on about. My family and I are originally from the Canarsie section of Brooklyn so I was psyched! Boy, was it a let down. Tepid, unoriginal indie rock with crappy production. Even worse, I come to find out these guys are actually from Ohio and I ly moved to Brooklyn as part of the hipster gentrification of places like Bushwick and Bed Study. Don't waste your time.......

Predictable music. Just what you would expect from David Bowie. That is not a dig, that is a good thing for me. I listen to David Bowie for specific reasons and he delivers all those reasons on this record.

Utter sh*t!

Strangely captivating, sometimes haunting mixture of chamber/avant-pop, soul, electronica and art pop. The longer I listened, the more I enjoyed it. As soon as the first listen through was completed, I went right back to the beginning. Some reminders in certain songs of neo-prog. bands (Marillion, Spock's Beard, Aisles) when they have done concept albums and included piano or chamber ensembles for the quieter parts (songs) of the concept (story). Quite a surprise that I am enjoying this record as much as I am..... On my 3rd consecutive spin as I write this.

The only song I still like from this album is The Beautiful People. When this album was first released I would have rated it about a 4.5. Now as a revisit this a few weeks shy of the 30th anniversary of its release, I can say I do not really enjoy this album anymore, except for the track The Beautiful People. Not so much because it is a good song, but because there are so many wonderful memories attached to that time period.

If you have to read a review about Blood sweat and tears then you know nothing about music. Classic album with classic songs. Spinning wheel is amazing you make me so very happy as another one. Funky rhythms and sick brass!

Not my thing.

Wow! A surprisingly awesome record! I did not know what to expect. I was thinking one of those run of the mill indie/alt rock bands that were a dime a dozen in the 90s. I cannot even begin to explain to you this record, you just need to listen to it. It's got spoken word, it's got prog, it's got idie, it's got alt rock... as well as post-punk, post-rock and even some post-metal. Some parts and some songs would not be out of place on an album by an atmospheric black-metal band like Agalloch or Wolves In The Throne room, yet they sound nothing like them. This is a record that you must experience for yourself and see what it is all about in order to understand it or grasp it. As I said, it completely took me by surprise!

A decent commercial pop punk record that had a couple of big hits. You couldn't turn on the radio in 1994 without hearing Longview, Basket Case, When I Come Around or welcome To Paradise. Before the musical landscape was overwhelmed by the pop punk of bands like Sum 41, Blink 182, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan or Offspring. Nothing groundbreaking here, just a good album of catchy tunes

Can this be considered the first progressive rock album? I personally believe it to be one of the greatest albums of all time across all genres! It is in my top five classic progressive rock records, and falls within the top 10 of my all-time favorite albums. The musicianship, the compositions, the production still sound relevant today. I do not believe it sounds dated as many other of the classic prog bands' albums from this time period like Camel, Starcastle, Vander Graff Generator or Gentle Giant do these days. 5 out of 5 for sure!!!!!
