1001 Albums Summary

Ive been aware of this album all my life. Its been constantly praised as an excellent album, and Fast Cars as an amazing song. I never gave it a listen as it is not my style of music. When it popped up as my first album, I thought I would finally give it a listen. After two songs, i thought ok this isnt for me but I guess this is a classic album, I will give it 2 stars, and continue listening. I just couldnt. I cant stand it. It doesnt just bore me, it irritates me. I simply do not like it.

Another album that I have always been aware of, but never really given the chance, as it isnt my type of music. After listening fully... I was right. It is not for me. Dull. Before listening, I was ready to give it a 3. I cant see going back and listening though. Solid 2.

I grew up with Razor's Edge on cassette. That is my #1 ACDC album. I am a huge fan of about 5 others. This is my 2nd favorite.

On the experimental side for 60s psychedelic rock. Enjoyable.

This is a good album, but its just not for me. Good production. I just dont listen to RnB, so the more songs I listen to, the less I like it.

Dull.

I knew this was coming. I have disliked this band as long as I have known about them, and their resurgence as one of the most popular classic rock bands in the last 5 years is mystifying. This is yet another album I was pretty sure I didnt like, but I gave it a chance. Had i not given it a chance, I probably would have given it at least 2 stars out of respect. But I cant now, after listening its a clear 1

This is exactly why I started this. A band I have always meant to give a listen, but havent gotten around to. Loving this.

Not great. Not bad. Just kind of there.

I tried. I know i dislike the Smiths and Morrissey, but I still tried. .....and I just cant. This is awful. It's not just that I dont like it, but listening to it for any length of time makes me want to rip off my ears and scrub my brain with bleach. I cant stand his voice. I cant stand his intonation. I think the lyrics are terrible. And the music isnt anywhere near interesting enough to make up for the vocals. Is there anything lower than a 1*?

Back in high school I hated the Grateful Dead. It was punks vs hippies, and I landed squarely on the side of punks. Over the years, this divide has lessened, and I am more open to listening to them. And I did. I did not love it, but at no point did I think that I needed to turn it off. This was perfectly pleasant background music while I work.

If the music were only boring, it could get by with a 2. But the singer gets increasingly annoying as the album progresses, and I just couldnt make myself finish the songs.

This album is good, but far from Megadeth's best.
