1001 Albums Summary

Incredible album. Monumentally important for rock, alternative, garage, noise, post-punk sound thereafter. A rouge’s gallery of Billboard smash hits.

Pivotal post-grunge pioneers. Took the angst from the 90’s and repackaged it for the 2000’s. Elements of folk harmonies, delta blues melodies, and garage band fuzziness. Jack White is a master songwriter and a virtuoso on the guitar…I just don’t know who told him he could sing.

This is a V I B E. Some serious good-time music. You cannot help but smile while listening to this album. This is the soundtrack to me kisses my wife while we laugh on the couch. Stevie Wonder is a literal angel sent to earth to heal us.

This whole album is a groove. Perfect to throw on the stereo while cleaning the house. A musical journey of joy and celebration.

Versatile, vulnerable, and vibrant. My first perfect score for this project. WOW, what an incredibly dense and diverse album. Heartbreak and hedonism woven throughout this album. Sensational.

I’ve loved this album for as long as I can remember. The orchestral movements on this album are immense and grand. It’s a landscape of sound and emotion.

The back half of this album is sublime. You have so much joy and celebration front loaded at the start that when the blues hits they really hit.

An incredible time capsule of the 90’s and a snapshot of a band that was on the brink of collapse.

Radiohead sits in a realm of experimentation and innovation. It begs to be interpreted and analyzed. Is this the greatest album? The soundtrack heard overheard at an alien DMV? You decide and make peace with your choice.

Good but sounds like the same song sang many different ways. It’s a song that I love, but can understand how people would tire of this album.

The superior White Stripes album

No thanks

Had never heard of this band/album but it blew away whatever assumptions I would’ve had about it. 2004 rock and roll at its core. This was at a time when there was a resurgence in straightforward rock music. The perfect cruising album.

I wish this was the Radiohead album I had started with for my listening journey. There’s more structure and coherency in this record than their future projects. Really enjoy the grungy-rock influences and experimental detours.

This is pure NY rock

I’ve never heard of this band or album but upon first listen I am hooked. Just a crazy good album.

Muppet music in the most sincerest form.

An alt-rock folk hero clad in flannel print and doc martens.

I get the idea.
