Janis Joplin with her most known song (for me) on this record. Rough, raw and rocking, great record.
No Woman No Cry great song (but not the best version). I don't really care much for Bob / Reggae otherwise
Great stuff, hadn't heard it before
Most sold album of all time for a reason. Top-notch pop rock.
Incredible, epic, one-of-a-kind operatic rock album.
I had no clue most biggest hits of ZZ Top were from this album: Gimme all your lovin', Shard Dressed Man, Legs. All blues-rock bangers, which make this a great record.
Great record I hadn't even heard of. Raw alternative / indie / punk rock that could've been released a decade later than it did. A couple of real bangers with catchy melodies like 'Blister in the Sun' and 'Gone Daddy Gone'.
Catchy middle of the road pop from the 60s. Fun, but nothing mind blowing.
Early 80s synthpop record
Great alternative indie rock, loved it!
Amazing record, Neil Young's first solo album. Love every song on it, pure, raw rock gold.
Just an old man singing (old) songs. But what a unique, incredible voice, and a great selection of songs.
Hip Hop / Rap is usually not my jam but this is a great, diverse double album with some big hits, great songs, and some stuff I didn't care for. I preferred Andre3000s The Love Below part.
Noise
Incredible accoustic guitar-focused folk rock. May you never is an all-time-favorite
Timeless masterpiece.
Michael Kiwanuka is great but this is not his best music.
Blueprint for later synth pop followers
Decent, nothing special. Doors lite.
Very smooth R&B / Jazz / Soul. A bit too smooth, it doesn't really stick with me. Very relaxing music though, removing all stress.
Very 80s pop record, with some (smooth) jazz elements among others. Not great, not bad.
Very atmospheric, quite intense electronic music. I liked it quite a bit.
I had never heard of this record and that wasn't a bad thing. Too much punk / raw noise for me to really enjoy.
Very poppy 60s stuff
Great album by an incredible folk singer/songwriter. Beautiful (string) arrangements accompany dark, mystic lyrics. Not the album I knew the best of Nick Drake's, so glad to find it in the list.
Pleasant, easy to listen to alternative rock / punk rock. I like the music style, but the album is really nothing extraordinary.
Wilco's alt-country / rock sound, and was very happy to find after the 10th track that this is in fact a double record.
Pretty good 90s pop / rock, but also pretty generic and forgettable.
Three top class singers, a great record full of country with amazing harmony singing
Track title alone is so killer it's worth 5 stars. Plenty of other songs on the record are also great.
Pretty solid record of 80s pop/rock filled to the brim with synthesizers, with the smash hit 'enjoy the silence'.
Very pleasant, fun, punky alt-rock record that's so clearly from the 90s
Reggae is really not my thing.
This really isn't my style of music and I wasn't even gonna finish listening to it but the intellectual, political lyrics against problems in modern society are great and captivated me!
Great record, mix of rock, country and singer songwriter is right up my alley. Too bad he appears to be a massive dickhead.
Good old Coldplay, their 2nd record with a couple of truly incredible songs (Clocks, The Scientist), but also not a bad song on it.
Great metal record I wasn't very familiar with. Solid sings and easy to listen to.
Noise indeed. Repetitive, and not great.
Quiet, calm atmospheric music. Quite pleasant to listen to in the background, but not really my thing.
One banger of an Elton John classic (Tiny Dancer). Rest is solid, bombastic piano pop but not his best work.
Incredible, one-of-a-kind record, full of funk and all kinds of psychedelic music. 5 stars
Great early hiphop. Plenty of groove, funk and actually interesting lyrics.
Clearly a great influence to any indie rock and many other genres of the 90s and after.
Great surprise for someone who loves any music from the 70s. Never heard of this band, but great rock, pop, folk and soul all in one package.
Terrific classic record, many easy to listen to tracks that I can enjoy time-after-time.
Bit boring
I quite enjoy country and Sheryl, but wasn't too impressed with this record. Middle of the road, generic country for most of the tracks, and one big hit (All I wanna do) with a nice groove but nothing amazing.
Legendary live album by a legendary live, jamming band. Exquisit record.
Too much screaming
Completely unaware of this band and record, it was a nice surprise. Not usually a big fan of punk, but this was hard, melodic, with funk and reggae and rock all in the same mix. Great stuff!
Classic of the nineties. Hardly a below-average track on this record.
Love the Black Keys. Raw, banging and rock solid.
Nearly impeccable record that I've listened to many times. It has lots of tight, classic tracks with great composition, jazzy licks, incredible musicianship and produced to perfection. I was shocked to learn it was actually their debut album.
Splendid harmony singing, stellar song writing. This album is a timeless classic.
Better than I thought, electronic music is not exactly my favorite. Banging record, solid tracks.
Trip hop not my thing.
A good reminder that I should listen more often to Stevie Wonder. What a musical genius. This isn't his best record, but plenty of great songs and lots of variety in musical styles.
Solid debut record, gangsta rap / hip hop that's easy to listen and nod your head back and forth to.
Quite depressive, melancholic music. A couple of very nice, beautiful songs, but overall often annoying and definitely 2 discs too long.
Listened to this record several times. I typically love early 90s grunge and indie rock, and some tracks were great, but overall it seemed too random, too punky with poor singing and random harmonicas. No top 1000 record for me.
Annoying noise. Not for me.
Very chill music, and pleasant to listen to. Some beautiful songs but everything is also quite similar.
Great surprise. Had never heard of this band but this is a very high energy, fun, glam rock record!
Looking at the track list this album is perhaps just a solid record. But put it in its own time, it is genre defining, ahead of it's time, a timeless classic. And listening to it (again) it's still SO good.
Not quite a masterpiece in my mind, but a banger of debut album. The whole concept of the digital band is great, well executed and it's no surprise they're still around 20+ years later. Great record musically, with still one of the best songs of the 2000s on it (Clint Eastwood).
Bit of a messy live record, but love the spacy psychedelic yet straight to the point rock from a band I had never heard of before.
Wish I could give 6 stars. Mind blowing, timeless, forever changing electric guitar.
Muse is great, and this record is solid as a rock. Really good stuff.
Quite pleasant to listen to, and I liked the 'Songs of Love' track, and a few others, but overall it's rather boring and unremarkable.
Love Traffic, adore the talent of Steve Winwood. Wasn't too familiar with 'John Barleycorn must die', so I was glad to give it a listen. A bit more folk on this record, and not really memorable for the lyrics, but the music and the psychedelic, jazzy jamming are great.
Paul Simon is incredibly talented as singer, songwriter and guitar player. This is not as good as some of his later work or records together with Art Garfunkel, but still great.
Neil Young is a legend and this record is one of his finest, a masterpiece. One of four high profile albums in 1970 that followed the massive success of CSNY's Deja Vu, and the best one in my book. Lyrics cover a wide variety of topics, and overall the album contains more fragile songs and ballads, with the clear exception of southern man. Title track is a perfect song.
