Not big on the old groove.
Proto-riot grrl. Kind of annoying though.
Not for me.
Easy listening. Not terrible. Not amazing. Good background for writing.
2 Stars. Not interesting.
5 stars
A true classic.
Pretty good. 4 stars
Awful. A true Worst Of the 80s
Synthy 3 stars
The synth keyboard is horrible. 2 stars
Very groovy. 3 stars
Starts strong but really drones on after a while. I wanted to like this and just couldn't quite get there. Felt like a poor man's Bjork or Rasputina. Better in small doses, one song at a time. 2 stars
A gem among gems. Disparate songs that nonetheless work. 5 stars
Really cool, groovy album, just not for me. 3 stars
Not bad, but not amazing
Really annoying voice. Didn't care for.
I like the classic industrial beats, and want to like the sludgy, guttural vocals, but they just don't quite work for me.
3 stars. Very good, but I'm not that into it
An interesting and funky first half, but the second half gets really schmaltzy and I got bored.
A really good one. A nice mix of their slower, more mournful stuff, and fast, frenetic songs. Jigsaw Falling is my favorite Radiohead song, followed by Weird Fishes, so I'm not even going to pretend not to be biased, though I do think some of the slower songs drag on a bit and don't do much for me. The good ones are enough to outweigh those. 4/5
Not my thing, but I can admit it's very catchy. I had a good time until I realized there were like 11 more songs and then I was just tired. I like the triphop beats and groove, but man I just find their voices annoying. Even if I do appreciate their wordplay and patter.
I wanted to like this, but the singer is truly obnoxious. There are vocalists out there who could have made this work, and I liked the eclectic feel to the music, but this ain't working as-is.

Really good voice and lyrics. I think the last couple fall off a bit, but the first 3/4s I really liked. Like a jazzier Joni Mitchell. 4/5
Very funky. Lot of funk on this list lately. This one grooves along and doesn't wear out its welcome. 4/5.
Sad drinking alone music. Not very interesting to me. 2/5.
I'm finding pretty much all the britpop on this list disappointing. Lead singer sounds weirdly like Damon Albarn, and the music reminded me of Flaming Lips. I appreciate what they're doing here even if it's not for me. 3/5.
Great voice held back by some very dated sounding songs and an overlong album. Tbh, I don't know if a cover album even belongs on this list, and that cost it points from me. I'll give Dusty another chance on another album or some singles in the future (You Don't Own Me is quite catchy), but this album is a miss. 2/5.
This was a letdown. My reaction was "THIS is what Kraftwerk is?" I appreciate the deliberateness of the notes and pacing, but that doesn't make it not plodding and interminable. It was interesting to see how the genre has evolved since this early pioneer into electronic music, but still. 2/5.
New age-y type album. Not really much to say. It's mood music. Good for studying or something where you aren't really listening to it. But it doesn't really excite or do anything amazing or even distinguish the songs from one another. Completely toothless. 2/5.
2/5 A couple winners, but the overall mix feels disjointed and doesn't quite maintain the cool James Bond sort of feel of the early tracks.
Bob Dylan's voice is unbearable.
Too much guitar screeching
It's ok. 3/5
Energetic, but a bit forgettable on the songs. 3/5
A classic. 4/5
Good but not my favorite grunge album. 3/5
Some real gems in here, but way, WAY too long and didn't finish it. 4 stars on My Sweet Lord and Apple Scruffs alone.
I like the music, but I just really hate Sting's vocals. 2/5
3/5. Fun energetic album that bogs down a bit towards the end. Didn't love the vocalist's voice, but liked the vibe.
A nice punk album, but not a lot of standouts. The sincerity of it really elevates the tracks. 4/5
Banger. 4/5
Chill 90s electronic album. Not my fave of the genre, but a good time. 3/5
Chillllllll
4/5
1/5. I don't like Bob Dylan, and this is much worse than Bob Dylan.
4/5 banger album
It's okay. Not my favorite of his albums. 3/5
Sort of a pixies sound, but not quite as good on the songs. 2/5
Music to fall asleep to. 2/5
Some gems in here, but a lot of very long songs that don't make much of an impact. Great study/work album though. 3/5
Good but very long. 4/5
Has the problem of a lot of albums of this era where they start really strong and funky and get really sappy and ballady in the second half. Still a great first half. 3/5
We have the Beatles and Bob Dylan at home. 2/5
I didn't realize Flava Flav was so political before he became a reality TV guy, but this album is pretty good. 4/5
Got to the cheery song about being molested by your uncle and saw that there were like 65 more minutes to go and that was enough for me. The Who are a good band, and I can understand why people would like this album but it is just not for me. 2/5
What if Bruce Springsteen was really really boring?
2/5
It's ok, but I want a bit *more*. Very controlled and measured, and I really miss that sense of verve and energy you get from jazzier stuff. 3/5
3/5. When it's good it's pretty good, but the tracks that are middling make it a bit repetitive. Needs a bit more variety in the sound.
1/5. This is the demo tape your buddy's alcoholic friend gives you at a bar. This band legitimately must have had blackmail material for the people making the list in order for this muddy, droning mess of an album to get a spot. A ten minute opening track?? Get outta here.
2/5. I genuinely couldn't believe how bad this one was. Hotel California is a good song, but the rest of this is dreadful. 2 ok songs doomed from 40 years of use on TV commercials, and then like 6 more sappy ballads.
28 minutes of nothing to write home about. There are some old albums that really show you why they influenced and paved the way for what came after. This is not one of them. 2/5
There's nothing truly wrong with this, but it's the most Dad of Dad albums ever to play in a garage. 3/5
A true gem of 2000s pop. Three absolute bangers with Kids, Electric Feel, and Time to Pretend, which are fully good enough to carry the album even if the other tracks aren't quite as good. It's just a fun time. 4/5
Smoooooth 4/5
The music you use to fill gaps between better songs at a club. There is just nothing here. 2/5.
2/5. The opening track is really good, but a lot of these tracks are just not very interesting. I had this playing for a while, checked the playlist and realized there was still another, interminable hour, and turned it off. If this was pared down to like... The five best songs, I think there would be a solid 4/5, but I'm not listening to 23 songs for a handful of gems. The original 47 minute album would be one thing, but the second half with all the added songs and remixes... I don't think so.
4/5. Great first half that's strong enough to carry an okay second.
A lovely album that I think overstays its welcome a bit. Of similar sounding albums, I liked Kate Bush better. 4/5.
Became very worried when I saw Bob Dylan mentioned in the details, but this was actually a very nice folk album. 4/5, no complaints.
2/5 An album I can muster no strong feelings about, positive or negative. Room temperature.
Really liked the opening couple songs and was gearing for a solid 5/5 but the latter half falls off into knockoff Bowie and just didn't grab me the same.
I can't. 2/5
Okay but not great album with a really stupid name. Not a bad listen-while-you-work album though.
3/5
4/5
LC has a handful of truly great songs, and then like 30 that sound like slow dance at a wedding soundtrack. This album is mostly the latter. Not even Cohen's poet's cadence can make this one work. 2/5
Sort of punk garage band, sort of rockabilly, sort of elvis. It's harsh, and the deliberate discordance keeps your attention, even if it crosses over into being deliberately annoying too much. 2/5
Got bored halfway through. Bjork has some absolute 5/5 albums and songs, but I don't know where they were on this extremely unremarkable album. This is the epitome of 2.5/5. Nice sound, no highs or lows, and nothing that I'll remember in a day. It feels very measured and deliberate, but that verges into plodding and trudging, and I find myself missing the rawness of things like Pagan Poetry.
1/5. I wish I was in a mediocre British punk band in the late 80s so I'd have a guaranteed spot on this list for some reason. An album with all the musical rhythm of thudding down the stairs at the pub.
I'm sure this has historical value, but it's one of those classic punk/rock albums that just sounds like nothing now. Not their fault, but 2/5
Yeah, I get why Bowie liked them. They sound exactly like him. 3/5.
Starts off really strong but falls off as it goes until it's just okay. 3/5
Is this the same song for 55 minutes, or just 9 songs that sound the same? You decide. 2/5
