Very good musically and right up my alley. Still sometimes iffy on music in another language. But this was great background music for driving around doing errands today.
I know this is considered one of his best albums, but I'm not the biggest Dylan fan. Really have to be in the mood. For some reason, never gave this album a good listen. We'll see how this listen goes. 1. A Classic. Top 5 Bob Dylan Song 2. Pretty good song. Just a typical Dylan song that stays the same the whole time and could be a little bit shorter. 3. Got the slow blues on this one, which I like. 4. Solid song. You can see how it's the least listened to song on Spotify. Nothing special about this one. Still a decent song though. 5. I've definitely heard this song before. Slow Blues again with a haunting tone to it.
Not my kind of thing. But I did learn about how many songs she wrote for other artists, so appreciate this site giving me some music knowledge today.
I know Ironman and Supreme Clientele but for some reason never got around to Fishscale. As someone from Staten Island, grew up a big Wu-Tang fan. How did I miss this? Definitely will be keeping this in rotation for more listens.
Grew up on Classic Rock, so I'm biased, but this is one of the best Rock albums ever. Bargain has one of my favorite outro's ever with Keith Moon's drumming. Baba O'Reilly is overplayed now but still a great song. It's got some of my underrated favorites My Wife, The Song is Over, and Going Mobile. Then Won't get Fooled Again to end the album. Fantastic album!
I grew up listening to essential classic rock albums that my Dad showed me. Somehow never even heard of this one. I can see why, my Dad didn't like this type of stuff, and he was probably deep into the English Prog scene instead of this at the time. You also don't hear anyone referencing this album as a greatest all time. I was glad to check out a new album from this era. I didn't mind it when I was listening to (only skipped one song after it got on my nerves), but I probably won't be going back and listening to it anytime soon.
Know of John Grant just keeping up with the indie scene + he put out a new album this year. Didn't know any of his albums were on this list. I listened to it but will need to give more listens to this as I feel like this album is a grower.
I was afraid to look at reviews for this, and I was right, so I have to leave one on this one. I'll give this 5 stars but this is nowhere close to the best Verve album or what they sounded like on previous albums. This is like half a Richard Ashcroft solo album. I always liked this album, but it's a chore to listen to due to the length of it. And yeah, there biggest hit is on here so it was a top selling album. Always loved Catching the Butterfly on this album, and Lucky Man is a great secondary hit on this album. Sonnet and Drugs Don't Work (while good songs), ruin the album flow for me. Would highly recommended A Northern Soul and A Storm in Heaven if you want some good psychedelic 90s rock, that doesn't sound like generic "Britpop" that you reviewers describe. A Storm in Heaven is in my top 10 albums of all time and highly recommend smoking some weed before starting that album.
It's alright. Maybe in the right mood I would want to listen to it. But just was never the biggest Patti Smith fan, but that's just my opinion!
For some reason, never listened to the Sex Pistols. Just didn't that I would like it for what I grew up listening to. No one I knew really exposed me to punk at all either. Never really liked Anarchy in UK so that probably didn't help. Now that my mind has expanded and trying to be open to be listening to anything, I actually quite liked this album. Funny that Anarchy ended up being one of my least favorite songs on the album. Solid 4 stars which could go up to 5 overtime, and will keep this new discovery in rotation for sure. Will also check out some more Punk music for sure
If anyone looks at my profile, my reviews will be all over the place. I love this album and grew up with it. Coldplay has dropped off in recent years, but this album is great from front to back. I understand the hatred for the band, but I'll put my personal opinion out there and say that this is a great album for my music tastes. That's all
I had never heard of this before. Went to wikipedia and it really has nothing significant on the album. So I don't really think this should be on this list at all. Upon listening, definitely reminded me of Oasis a little bit and thought it was way to generic for the first few songs and didn't hear anything groundbreaking. However, it did get a little better as the album went on. Really liked the Captain's Table song. Couple songs in the middle were pretty good. Overall, I'd give it 2.8 and round up to 3
Perfect album from one of my favorite bands.
As much music as I know, I never got Tom Waits. And I love some of the weirdest shit out there. I'll admit, I gave it a try again. But I just don't get it. Maybe I never will. Funny seeing the reviews are either 1 star or 5 stars on this. I guess it's a guy you either love or hate. I wish I could see what the 5 star rating people liked in this, but I just don't.
