Antichrist Superstar
Marilyn MansonThis whole album (cover art, lyrics, instrumentation) gives me the creeps, and not in a good, fun way
This whole album (cover art, lyrics, instrumentation) gives me the creeps, and not in a good, fun way
Not nearly enough synth or fun to call itself new wave
I loved the depth of the instrumentation on parts of the album, especially the closing track
The album vibe is not really for me; favourite track is probably the titular one
I hear a lot of Led Zeppelin in this album, but I can't tell if that's because I listen to only Led Zeppelin in this genre, or if they are that influential. Either way, I like Led Zeppelin and therefore I like this album.
My favourite track is the opening one; feels very similar to Parcels and their debut. A very solid synthetic sound throughout the album
The album vibe is not really for me; favourite track is probably the titular one
Top notch album, title track is once again my favourite
Obviously a hugely influential album, but my weakness is that I don't have an appreciation of some older hip-hop records. This will be one I have return to once I'd be able to understand it more.
I liked this one, especially the track 'Behind the Wall'
The whole album just feels too long and pretty discontinous. However, I did enjoy a few of the tracks, such as 'Bodyrock', 'Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?' and 'Machete'
A decent heavy rock record, and a Kinks cover is always a good touch
I loved the depth of the instrumentation on parts of the album, especially the closing track
A solid, groovy, funky LP
That opening track is like a Wonderwall jumpscare. Overall I don't think this a genre that lines up well with me. However, I appreciate the presence of a hidden track
Great flows on the album. Some songs may drag a bit, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed the listen
Very solid double LP. Obviously Mr. Blue Sky is the standout track, but I really enjoyed the opening run of tracks too
I hear a lot of Led Zeppelin in this album, but I can't tell if that's because I listen to only Led Zeppelin in this genre, or if they are that influential. Either way, I like Led Zeppelin and therefore I like this album.
The album is very atmospheric, super vibe-y, great background noise. It doesn't really surpass that for me, but is fits that role very well.
This whole album (cover art, lyrics, instrumentation) gives me the creeps, and not in a good, fun way
This album rocks; the context behind it all is suoer crazy too
This was a very good listen, although I wish the whole album carried the energy of the first song
I really enjoyed 'Last Day of Our Acquaintance' but I didn't understand the appeal of the whole album
A fun album that doesn't take itself too seriously. In the words of the great Tyler 'The' Creator, "God I love this sample"
Yeah, it's alright. Maybe it was ground-breaking and/or innovative in its time, but unfortunately to my modern ears it just sounds a dated
The crowd work done by Cash really carries this album. The vibe is almost haunting to me
Once again, there's one stand out track, everything else is a bit less memorable
Favourites were 'Be-In' and 'Whipping Tree', I wish the whole album sounded like them
Uhh, those vocals were sleazy af, not in a fun way. I enjoyed the guitars though
Low-fi songs to nap and sit on a plane to
The tracks are really long and scary to drag and become repetitive. I liked sections, but I'm not scrubbing through 70 minutes of music to go find them
Not a big country fan, but this album is a good listen
Not nearly enough synth or fun to call itself new wave
This feels like the soundtrack to a very boring musical
After hearing some bad albums that claimed to be "the answer to Brit Pop", it's refreshing to hear what none of them could recreate
A solid solid-rock LP, it's crazy the kind of star power behind this album
Another fun, heavy rock album! I much prefer this streak of generated albums compared to what was being dished up last week
I had to listen to the album with the Genius page open for each track, because I knew I didn't want to lose the narrative of the album. It's an touching story, woven together through some amazing songs.
I just don't see the appeal of THIS specific live rock album compared to the many others out there. What makes this one special?
No strong feelings
It's alright, some nice vibes, nothing special though
This album will be the soundtrack of my autumn, I think
I struggled to connect with some of the earlier soul albums that I reviewed - but psychedelic soul? Sign me up!
I liked it, part grunge, part Beastie Boys. I'm not big into the punk scene, but this album was good
Nothing in this album spoke to me, my biggest takeaway was that I'm better at recognising Thom Yorke's vocals than I thought I would be
Two albums for the price of one, and both feel fresh, innovative and funky.
Woah, this album was beautiful, 'Old Whore's Diet' and all!
I dunno, didn't seem too special as a live album
Ah yeah, it's fine. The first half of the album just sounds like a less interesting Beach Boys album, but the final few tracks feel much more unique
This album is not really my vibe
I don't really know how to judge an album where it's covers from front to back. I'm not well versed enough to say if the instrumentation and arrangement are comparable to other versions of the standard. What I can say though, is that I enjoyed listening to this album
I think the out of tune opening track really sets the tone for the whole album - it's kind of good and also annoying
Similarly to Ray Charles, I don't know how to judge an album full of covered, especially a live one
Nothing super special but nothing downright bad. Just not for me
Obviously this early record, and others like it, were a huge influence on what our music is today, and I respect that. But at the same time I'm not really coming back to listen to it again
Yeah, it's pretty good, but Blue Monday has the whole album covered
This one was punchy, heavy, and a fun listening experience
I love the punk of this album
I very much enjoyed my night at the opera. Although, I don't feel like I was dressed appropriately
Listening to a few of these heavy rock albums thanks to this website has shown me that I can really like this genre.
Some cute, lighthearted fun, with the absolute banger Dancing Queen thrown in too.
I really like this one!
I liked this album, especially the opening track and its weird sounds
I love the swing of this album, the third track was my favourite
Maybe I would have preferred it with some vocals attached, but you can't deny how good that organ is
The music put me in a great mood straight away, I even enjoyed giggling at a women 'mourning' her dead husband
Nothing special sauce about this album to me, a lot of the songs were just too same-y
Felt a bit same-y compared to their follow up. Still a decent listen, favourite track probably Columbia
Kind of over the top and showy in an un-fun way
I think this album might be an acquired taste, good thing I like the Beastie Boys
Really enjoyed this one, especially the dig at LBJ for some reason
There's not much I can say that hasn't been said before, the albums is basically perfect (although I usually skip Territorial Pissings)
It's an alright late 60s rock album, could be more experimental or progressive for my taste, but that's being nit-picky
This album is too long, and probably caught me on an off day for heavy rock
Powerful singing / vocals, I really liked it
Atmospheric, empty but full, echoes. I like the sounds on this album, reminds of "The Division Bell" (positive connotations)
I do own this album picked it up for a couple dollars second-hand because I liked 'The Scientist' and 'Clocks'. 'Politik' always surprises me as a good opener, but there's nothing particularly special about this album.
She has a fantastic voice, loved this
I love the range of 70s rock you can hear on this album. Something for everyone and lots for me
It's fun, a bit noodle-y, probably more impactful in it's time
The closing track was probably my favourite, overall I really enjoyed this album.
Some of the tracks are good in isolation, my favourite being the drum solo to close out 'Blues for Hughey'. However, I don't think I'll be coming back to a 70+ minute long mostly instrumental album with nothing much else going for it
This album really reminded me of 'Sometimes I Might Be Introvert' from Little Simz, lots of interludes, spoken word, mixed into a RnB album. Both great records.
It's fun, a little silly, a good time
Every track cannot be 'Blister In The Sun', unfortunately
I've heard it said before, 'The Wall' is a lot. I really enjoy the music, and I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan, but to an outsider this album can be very difficult. Everyone should listen to Comfortably Numb though, that's the best song in Pink Floyd's discography
Listening to Riders on the Storm without Snoop Dogg feels weird, but that's I played so much Need For Speed: Underground 2 when I was younger. Still a good song and album though
No strong feelings, some odd tracks
Obviously by Beatles standard, this album is nowhere near their best. However, it's still a pretty good mid-60s pop-rock album, and the opening track is fantastic. I just wish this album gets the "Giles Martin" treatment soon, because the 2009 remasters can be a struggle.
Woah, that opening track is crazy good. Not what I was expecting from this album and unfortunately the rest of the tracks don't really deliver anything else like that or as good as that. Stolen Car - 4 / 5
An alright prog-rock album, but I've heard better 20+ minute tracks
It's short, that's a positive. However, this certainly is not much genre, so I'm pretty low on Buck Owens and his Buckaroos
