There's a couple 10/10 tracks on here, and Clint Eastwood is a 12/10 for me, but the quality is not consistent, so a lot of the album feels like weird experimental Albarn filler. Bonus star for the entire virtual band concept.
the energy and guitars on this are incredible, but I cannot get into the rush guy's voice
You can call me unimpressed
this album is really good. these guys should do another one like this
I think I still prefer Doolittle but this is better than I remember. Lots of fun songs. Pixies are just not really something I would ever put on as an album personally.
now this is jazz! loved it but have to dock a star for the last track which completely killed the vibe for me
you gotta hand it to em
this one's just not for me!
it's fine. lorde is fine.
The Manyika tracks are the highlight for me. The rest is crazy bland and boring.
OK, look, it's a really good album. But for me this lives in the uncanny valley where it's too old to be novel but too new to evoke nostalgia. I can't separate it from the twee hipster bullshit of the late 2000s, and I've personally heard enough Sufjan for a lifetime already. If you're hearing it for the first time I'm happy for you. Maybe listen to it 1000 times this year and then come back in 20 years and see if you're still giving it 5 stars or whatever.
felt familiar even though I've never heard it
FINALLY a british rock band
damn 2007? this has been in regular rotation for years. certified classic.
this album is like learning a villain's origin story and then you feel bad for them
not beating the allegations that the editors ran out of albums and were scrambling to hit 1001 with this one. perfectly serviceable 70s folk rock, if you're into that. some of these songs are depressing as hell. +1 for the fun medieval horn, -1 for including a christmas song.
crazy that this was as influential as it is unlistenable. "can't listen to this sober" ok that's because it's bad. every album is better on drugs, that's why people like drugs.
Important depression music
would be 5/5 as the soundtrack to metroid prime

doesn't get much more 80s than this. we should all aspire to be tiny turner at age 45.
if you think you're too good for coldplay you should see a doctor
Remember Pandora? I used to play this game with an ex-partner where we put on a samba station while we were cooking and kept track how often it would just re-play Girl from Ipanema, or Só Danço Samba, or any cover of those. Usually once every 5 or 6 songs.
I tried to listen to this while working and it stressed me out too much.
I don’t get the hype.
the sun listens to this to get motivated to rise on a cloudy day
this is hands down one of the best albums about being horny
this is the meeting-that-could-have-been-an-email of albums
this kicks ass, these guys rule, and I will never listen to this again. 1 star, but like, in a good way. 1 star is what they were going for.
I'll admit sometimes an album gets a better rating from me because I was high
the backing tracks feel kinda dated
this is like, the best you can hope for in terms of soundtrack music
for the record I was moderately stoned.
well my name's COFFEETRON and I'll MAKE SOME NOISE I gave five stars the BEASTIE BOYS
this shit works on me. it's the kind of music that makes me do a little dance in the kitchen while I'm making breakfast. maybe give my partner a lil kiss. I guess I'm a swingin lover! with that said I don't think sinatra works in an album format.
I dunno man, there's flecks of gold in there but it's really hard to listen to in 2025.
elvis? more like “shelve this” album. I got bored.
RIP David Bowie you could have been an incredible vtuber
I didn’t care for this much back in the 2010s but listening now I get a different vibe. Beautiful album to sleep to.
fitter happier walked so that nano could call himself a dirty little bitch
wow. the chance to discover albums like this really makes the whole 1001 list worthwhile.
what if they made the whole plane out of solos
this is what they used to prescribe for low T in the 70s
