Always thought Lou Reed was overrated. This album confirmed my thoughts.
Fun to listen to. Beck is a musical chameleon. I have zero idea what the lyrics are about though.
Some timeless songs. More like a 4.5 than a 4
Duran Duran= So So. Hungry Like The Wolf is a good song; Rio is a great song. The rest of the album sounds like background music at a club in the early '80's (which it was).
Was not familiar with the artist or the album. After listening, I realized I did not miss much after all these years. Unmemorable.
It's a shame I can't give it 3.5 stars- some pretty well crafted tunes
There are a couple classic songs on the album, but I found it very uneven. I know CCR and this album are highly regarded by many. I just feel that there were a lot of bands in this era and genre that were better (The Band, Allmans, Skynyrd, etc).
A moody album with great songs that seem to flow together lyrically and musically. It feels like a rock opera. The two brothers in Arcade Fire are from The Woodlands in Texas, where I have a lot of family. It is a huge planned community- I can understand their melancholy.
Depressing monotone music. I couldn't wait to get this album over with.
Uneven and very basic songwriting but I give them an A for effort - The Police always bring a lot of energy.
Not as bad as I feared, but completely forgettable.
Different strokes for different folks. Not my thing
I was optimistic after the first song and then it went downhill fast. An assault on my eardrums.
Last Goodbye is a great song. The rest of the album is histrionic (been wanting to use that word in a sentence for a while).
I am not a huge country fan but this is a special album. Every time I listen to songs from it I try to visualize the scene where it was recorded.
Peanut butter and jelly are better together than apart. So were Lennon and McCartney.
Easy listening but a snooze
Meh. BTW, the album linked on Spotify was too long because the rerelease combined Born to Be With you with another album, Streetheart.
