This is great! I remember it all but it's been a really long time since I listened to the whole album. Most of the songs are lyric free which I like, as it's hard to sing along to Zappa without feeling awkward. I'm not a Jazz expert but I find this accessable.
Laid back, fun, low fi. I've never listened to this before. I can hear how it has influenced subsequent artists. Very good.
The band is tight and the lyrics are true and bleak, I know they were poor suburban kids in my bones. I was worried for these guys at the time, but I think they have made it to a good place. I'm glad as it makes it easier to enjoy the album.
She is very good! Her voice is amazing and the songs are great.
It's good - I worry the songs in the middle get lost but I can't see a way to repackage it three normal sized albums, I respect the artist's choice to make a big statement. The grunge/ alt rock labels from the time obscures it, I think the harder songs are more like Prog Metal. It's cool!
It's good. It's better the second and third listen through, the first time I didn't pick up on all the subtleties, it's only a bit arena rock, underneath the hood there is alot more going on. I need to hear more from these guys.
It's good, but not as good as Blood Sugar Sex Magik. The lyrics are better, the music is good but somehow not quite as good.
Very good, reminds me of Lou Reed. 4.49 stars.
Glam punk. The missing link between glam rock and hair metal. Sort of like listening to Guns and Roses for the first time, or Kiss without knowing it's Kiss. The music is good without biographical distraction 3.49 stars
Owns his older voice, bold synth use. I love his early stuff but it's rare for an artist to create something so new in their mid 50's.
It's very good, but I have listened to it too much. I wish the Band could have found a way to stay together and stay creative. I'm sad about how it ended up. 4.49 stars.
A great, original record by a great original band. Too good to last.
The samples / music is great, funky. The words and lyrics are not for me. 2.75 stars.
Very good. Jazzy blues with piano. 4.25 stars
Post Punk Indy Rock. 4 stars.
Great! Pretenseious but cool.
It's really good. It might be better than Blur, top Britpop.
It's better than I would have guessed. Bluesy. 3.7 stars.
I love most of Ryan Adams albums. The sexual misconduct allegations are so incongruous with his lyrics that it's hard to accept the music on its own merits, but on its own merits I really like it. 4 stars
This is great! I will check out more from this artist.
Kate Bush is pretty pretty good. Art Rock. 4.49 stars
The arrangements are beautiful. The 1970's were a long time ago, the world was different - sometimes the music seems so mild, but this was the sort of music you could listen to with your older relatives and it's still really good. I wish Karen had a happier and longer life
5 Stars. Maximalist band, hi-fi wall of sound with fairy tale lyrics. Strongly rooted to a mythical time and place. This is the centre of the Springsteen-verse, everything else can be related to this album.
It's metal music with rap lyrics... Its ok but it doesn't stand out for me.
A fine Album by a great singer.
Good! A bit heavier than some of their later stuff. Hard Rock Harmony. 3.9 stars
This is great! Reminds me of Tori Amos.
It's pretty good. 3.75 stars.
Good! Well executed anthem/ arena rock
Really cool. This is totally new for me, will listen again. 4.25 stars
Really really good. 4.33 stars
Delivers what it promises, but a bit too heavy on the murder ballads for my taste 3.85 stars
Jazzy! Reminded me of late 70's Joni Mitchell and sure enough, she used most of this band on a few of her albums. Pretty mellow but still very interesting.
This is awesome 4.49 stars... Very interesting.
It's an interesting concept, but the violence in the lyrics becomes hard to carry. Dispute being quite good, I couldn't listen to this very often.
Awesome lo fi indy rock. Very cool.
Way better than I would have guessed 4.75 stars
Interesting band. Avant Garage:) 4.4 stars
Mellow blues rock. Really great.
