1001 Albums Summary

It is good, but not their best. Or maybe just not as much to my taste. I think it needs more listens from me to give a thoughtful review.

Iconic

So good and iconic but not really my taste as an entire album

Already listened and loved

It's not my typical genre so I think I would enjoy it more after more listens. But really good stuff

Some of the songs are already masterpieces on their own, but together in this album it just becomes the most magical and transcendent experience. Some of the smoothest transitions and gnarliest riffs, while also managing to tell a compelling story evoking childhood, loneliness and emotional trial. Doesn't quite reach the same height as DSOTM but very nearly; to me it is pretty much a perfect album.

Not my favorite genre but I appreciate it for what it is and how it's influenced modern artists

Gothy 80's goodness but nothing special for me in this moment

This is fucking groovy. I have been overlooking this band for way too long and am now a fan

Thought it was the same singer as either Cake, Pavement or Wilco. Is it a requirement to have this kind of voice to do hipstery alternative rock in a band named after a single word? I liked it but I couldn't stop thinking about this and comparing them

I actually think this is a good album musically with some great beats and smooth grooves, but it's just not my style and I would not listen again. And my ratings are for Me :)

The type of album I would bump if I was a single woman in the 80s coming home to my high-rise apartment after a long day at my office job

Stones are not really my thing + they have better albums

This one feels a little ahead of its time, very 90s grunge. A lot of emotion in his voice

I don't really have an ear for jazz yet but this is fire for sure

Not enjoyable. Forced myself to listen. Sounds like the soundtrack to an unknown video game from the 90s

At first I felt like the sound was kind of outdated, but by the second half of the album it had grown on me and become more charming. Still, it does feel a bit repetitive throughout and there was not really any standout songs

Love Joy Division and their sound but this album is a lot weaker than their first, not really any standout songs. Still enjoyable overall

One of my favorite albums of all time. Listening to this feels like ascending to a British heaven of indie rock yearning. I wanna be adored is a masterpiece song and a crazy opener, those first few chords get me every time

I feel very white giving this a 4 but it's just good

Maybe the most beautiful album in the world. She is the blueprint

I think this is the kind of album that needs to marinate over a couple listens

Kind of life-changing. Why am I even listening to other kinds of music

Such a corny and outdated sound. The coverart is borderline clickbait lmao. Every one of these songs has it's place on the soundtrack of some 3-star family movie from the 80s, in the worst way possible

This was more complex and intriguing than I expected. Nothing crazy or mind-blowing but a step above still. In general for music I think there must have been something magical in the air in the late sixties-mid 70s

Giving Bjork amongst others

I think a key word for this album is intriguing. The cover art, the lyrics, the sound; All of it is very intriguing but falls just short of enticing

I mean this is basically a Best of Bob Dylan album

I got Springsteen 2 days in a row so I guess he was mad about my previous rating. Fine, this is alright. Not my favorite genre but it has emotion and a solid sound

This is cool, I wasn't blown away but I'm interested in looking into the rest of their discography

This artist disturbs me because he is very similar looking to an evil man I was involved with once. But the album was good, like a dreamy living poetry session

Aretha is like a goddess of music, I don't know what else to say. I like some of the songs more individually than as an entire album experience hence the 4

Call me crazy but this album is kind of average as far as the Beatles go if you take out I Love Her and Can't Buy Me Love

She has a great voice and everything it is just very outside of my usual taste so not so enjoyable
