Imagine by John Lennon

I really didn't like this album. The first three songs were fine, I mean, Imagine is a classic for a reason. Jealous Guy had great instrumentation and was by far the highlight of the album for me. It was mostly downhill from there for me, excluding Oh My Love. One particular low light for me was I Don't Want To Be A Solider Mama. That song just dragged on and on and is the worst song I've heard in a while. The album felt like it was a lot longer than it actually was.

Clube Da Esquina by Milton Nascimento

This is a perfect example of music being a universal language. I have no idea what Milton Nascimento or Lô Borges are singing about, but I loved this. While I didn't understand exactly what they were singing about I could get an idea based solely on the emotion in their voices. The instrumentation and Milton Nascimento's voice is just a chef's kiss. Lô Borges's solo songs on the album were also good, but I didn't enjoy them quite as much as Nascimento's.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Jan 07 2026

Not the type of music I willingly listen to. My father does though, so I do know some of the songs from the album. It was alright, but I probably wouldn't listen to it again.

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Jan 08 2026

I'd already heard the 1st two songs on multiple occasions and enjoyed them, so I had some pretty high expectations coming into my listening session. The rest of the album didn't quite hit the highs of the songs "Band on the Run" or "Jet", but I still enjoyed it, particularly Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five. I'd definitely revisit some of the songs on this album.

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Jan 09 2026

I enjoyed it a lot. I would have to be in a specific mood for it, but I would definitely revisit this album.

Imagine by John Lennon
Jan 12 2026

I really didn't like this album. The first three songs were fine, I mean, Imagine is a classic for a reason. Jealous Guy had great instrumentation and was by far the highlight of the album for me. It was mostly downhill from there for me, excluding Oh My Love. One particular low light for me was I Don't Want To Be A Solider Mama. That song just dragged on and on and is the worst song I've heard in a while. The album felt like it was a lot longer than it actually was.

Jan 13 2026

I enjoyed this. It's one of those albums where I wouldn't really listen to just one song. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The instrumentation and harmonies were great. A downfall of it is that the only place you can listen to it online, at least as of now, is YouTube. I did get an ad in the middle of Promentalshitbackwashpsychosis Enema Squad The Doo Doo Chasers because of how long it is (which is a bit too long, in my opinion).

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Jan 14 2026

This was hit or miss for me. I really enjoyed the folk songs on it, but didn't really like the more rocky songs.

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
Jan 15 2026

I don't really listen to that much hip hop, so I didn't really know what to expect. Some of the songs were really catchy, although I probably wouldn't listen to the album again. I just couldn't get into it. That being said I enjoyed the song Light Another a lot.

Giant Steps by The Boo Radleys
Jan 16 2026

I hated this. I don't know if it was partially bad timing for me to get this album, because I did have a headache the day that it was my album to listen to. Upon 9th And Fairchild was hell to get through because of that. That being said I also don't enjoy this type of music in general, so the headache factor probably only played a very small part in my dislike of this album, but it's still something to keep in mind. Wish I Was Skinny was a highlight for me, at least it was until I got to the last couple of seconds of it. A similar thing can be said for Thinking of Ways. For a lot of the songs there's a good song in there somewhere, but then a guitar screech will come in (and I do mean screech) or some weird effect and it just ruins the whole thing.

Synchronicity by The Police
Jan 19 2026

I was honestly expecting to enjoy this more than I actually did. I mean, Every Breath You Take is basically inescapable if you listen to a station that plays any 80s music. While I don't necessarily love that song, I also don't mind it. King of Pain is a much better song and also one that I've heard on the radio every so often, as well as the other singles. The problem is those songs just don't reflect what the rest of the album sounds like. One of the best examples of this is Mother, which is an absolutely god awful song. I was really tempted to give the album one star, but the singles made it get bumped up to two stars.

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Jan 20 2026

I just really don't like rock music that much, some of the songs were fine especially when they had more of an acoustic sound to them. Disarm, Sweet Sweet, and Luna were by far the best examples of that.

Vincebus Eruptum by Blue Cheer
Jan 21 2026

I don't have much to say about this other than I didn't enjoy this. The album would have been slightly better if the songs weren't so long. Doctor Please was especially a slog to get through.

We're Only In It For The Money by The Mothers Of Invention
Jan 22 2026

This was weird, but not bad. I really appreciated that most of the songs were short because I imagine if they were any longer it would have made me enjoy this a lot less. The Chrome Plated Megaphone of Destiny is a great example of that.

High Violet by The National
Jan 23 2026

I'd heard of The National before this, but had never heard any of their songs before. Honestly, while listening to the first song, I was anticipating not to like this album. I thought that the instrumentation was fine, but I didn't really like the singers voice. After hearing the rest of the album I decided that it wasn't that I didn't like his voice, it was just how his voice sounded on the first song that I didn't like. I loved the rest of the album.

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Jan 26 2026

I am in fact, California dreamin' on such a winter's day. I liked this album. It's a good listen for when you just want something more chilled out. That's not what I'm always in the mood for, but when I am, I probably would listen to this again. However, after California Dreamin' the album did start to get a bit boring. I just didn't like the last 5 songs that much. I mean they were fine, but when they're compared to the first half of the album, they just aren't as good.

Raw Power by The Stooges
Jan 27 2026

I don't really have much to say about this album. I didn't really like it other than the song Gimme Danger. A lot of the other songs just sounded like the same song over and over again.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Jan 28 2026

Some of the slower songs on the album were okay I guess, but I really couldn't get into the rockier ones, especially You Shook Me. I hated that one. I felt like it was kind of pointless for some of the songs to be as long as they were.

Post Orgasmic Chill by Skunk Anansie
Jan 29 2026

Based on the first three songs, I really thought that I wasn't going to like the album. However, when I got to Tracy's Flaw I did start enjoying the songs, at least until I got to Good Things Don't Always Come To You. While there are only a handful of songs I really liked, for a lot of them there were moments in them that I did like. The only song that I truly disliked was On My Hotel TV.

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Jan 30 2026

This was alright, but I can't really picture myself listening to it again. I don't really know what else to say.

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Feb 02 2026

I'd heard snippets of some of these songs before, so I had somewhat of an idea of what this was going to sound like. Honestly, I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Feb 03 2026

This was the first time I'd heard a Prince album in full, but of course I knew several of his songs. I knew going into it that he liked to experiment, so I wasn't really sure what I was getting into with this. It was alright. I liked Disc 2 significantly more than Disc 1.

Feb 04 2026

This was alright. Lauren Hill has a beautiful voice and a lot of the songs were pretty catchy.

Clube Da Esquina by Milton Nascimento
Feb 05 2026

This is a perfect example of music being a universal language. I have no idea what Milton Nascimento or Lô Borges are singing about, but I loved this. While I didn't understand exactly what they were singing about I could get an idea based solely on the emotion in their voices. The instrumentation and Milton Nascimento's voice is just a chef's kiss. Lô Borges's solo songs on the album were also good, but I didn't enjoy them quite as much as Nascimento's.

Club Classics Vol. One by Soul II Soul
Feb 06 2026

This was disappointing for me. Based on the name of the album I was expecting late 80s/ early 90s house music, which is one of my favorite genres. I mean the album did have a bit of those elements in it here and there, it just wasn't what I thought it would sound like so it was a bit of a let down. It wasn't bad by any means, but I just couldn't get into it.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Feb 09 2026

My brother had a phase where he was obsessed with Elvis's music, so I knew a lot of his most popular songs just because of that. I enjoyed them at the time and I did enjoy some of the songs on the album. It's kind of interesting to me that he was considered the "King of Rock and Roll" because, at least on this album, I hear more of a country influence on a lot of the songs than I do a Rock and Roll one.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Feb 10 2026

This was nice background music.

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Feb 11 2026

When I first started listening to this I thought it was just okay. Around halfway through it, I started to enjoy it more and by the end of it I was really starting to like it. I think that if I'd listen to it again, I'd probably enjoy it more right from the get go.

Music by Madonna
Feb 12 2026

I really liked this but Music (the song) is one of the most annoying songs I've ever heard. Madonna's cover of American Pie also isn't that great.

Eagles by Eagles
Feb 13 2026

This was pretty forgettable besides the songs that were released as singles and Take the Devil. It was by no means bad just forgettable.

Mothership Connection by Parliament
Feb 16 2026

I thought that the songs were pretty catchy and in the moment I enjoyed them, but it was pretty much in one ear and out the other. I couldn't really tell you what any of the songs actually sounded like after maybe a minute after listening to them.

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Feb 17 2026

I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. It was alright. I didn't hate it, but I can't really see myself listening to it again. Although I thought it was fine I was also starting to get bored towards the end.

Feb 18 2026

I feel conflicted about this. There were some songs that I really loved, but the majority of them I just couldn't get into. I think giving this album two stars is too low, but giving it three stars is too high.

Only By The Night by Kings of Leon
Feb 19 2026

There wasn't really anything that memorable about it though, actually it was fairly boring. But overall it was alright I guess. I've definitely heard worse but it was a chore to get through it because of how bored I was listening to it.

The Band by The Band
Feb 20 2026

I think this is the first album I've listened to for this project where I had to take breaks to listen to something that I actually like. That said some of the songs were okay and I could see why someone would like this. It just wasn't for me.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Feb 23 2026

I was honestly kind of stalling when it came to listening to this. I ended up liking it a lot. The production on it is fantastic and the songs are super catchy. It's kind of funny that one of the songs has Drake on it.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Feb 24 2026

It's been a very long time since I've heard this album, and it did bring back good memories. I kind of forgot how good it actually is. However, some songs are more memorable than others

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Feb 25 2026

This was kind of a weird album. About half of the songs I really loved, but the other half I hated. I think the track that stood out to me the most was Long Promised Road and I can see why it was released as the first single from the album.

Live / Dead by Grateful Dead
Feb 26 2026

I legitimately felt annoyed listening to this. There were bits here and there that were okay, but only for a few seconds at a time. The longer it went on, the more annoying it got. I feel like albums like this are really only meant for people who are already fans.

The Clash by The Clash
Feb 27 2026

The instrumentation was catchy on some of the songs, but I really didn't like the lead singer's voice. I just felt sort of meh about the album.

Murmur by R.E.M.
Mar 02 2026

I had fairly high hopes for this album. While I'd only heard R.E.M's most popular songs, I liked all of the ones I have heard. I'd say that the album met my expectations. It was good, but I didn't absolutely love it.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Mar 03 2026

Some of the songs were okay, but the only songs I would actually choose to listen to are Easily and Porcelain. The songs that weren't okay were just outright terrible.

California by American Music Club
Mar 04 2026

I liked this for the most part. Although I absolutely hated Bad Liquor. It just felt so out of place. California felt like an album that was ahead of its time. If you would have told me that it was released in the early or mid 90's, I wouldn't have been surprised. But, that could just be because of my lack of knowledge when it comes to indie rock.

Home Is Where The Music Is by Hugh Masekela
Mar 05 2026

This album made me realize that I think trumpets can be annoying. This was fine for what it was, but a lot of the songs were just longer than was necessary. I can just personally handle jazz in small doses.

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Mar 06 2026

I liked this, actually I thought that I'd like it more than I did. Somebody to Love was by far my favorite song on the album. Comin' Back to Me and Go To Her were other ones that I liked, but the rest of the album was just fine. I didn't hate any of them, I just didn't really love any of them either.

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Mar 09 2026

I'd only ever heard two Bob Dylan songs before this, at least that I know of, and one of them I loved (I actually didn't even know it was him for the longest time). The other one I thought was fine. However, I can't say that I really liked any of these. The instrumentation was fine, but once Dylan started singing it went downhill for me. He just sounds so smug and I found it incredibly annoying.

Mar 10 2026

This was alright, but nothing spectacular. I finally understand why people call Coldplay sellouts, so at least there's that.

Immigrés by Youssou N'Dour
Mar 11 2026

I liked this, but I especially loved Pitche Mi. The instrumentation of that song was just beautiful. It was almost hypnotic and was the highlight of the album for me.

Fun House by The Stooges
Mar 12 2026

I don't quite understand the appeal of this. The first couple of songs were okay, but then by the end it was just grating to listen to.

Scott 2 by Scott Walker
Mar 17 2026

I loved this and I don't exactly know why. I think it might be because it sounds like these songs could be part of a musical, which I love musicals. However, when I was listening to it I was doing some other stuff and when I looked back to see what song I was on, I was only on song four. I truly thought that I was way farther into the album. The album felt a lot longer than it actually was, which I didn't mind since I did like the songs.

Songs Of Love And Hate by Leonard Cohen
Mar 18 2026

I liked the first song on the album, but after that I just couldn't quite get into it. I absolutely hated Dress Rehearsal Rag and Diamonds in the Mine. The rest of the songs were fine.

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
Mar 19 2026

The Mothers Of Invention is such a weird band. I liked the album, but I just can't see myself listening to it or any of the songs again. It was starting to get a bit old by the time I got towards the end of it though.

Low by David Bowie
Mar 20 2026

I know that Bowie changed his sound a lot throughout his career, so I was kind of excited to hear what direction he went in for this album. It was interesting, but I just felt sort of meh about it overall. I wasn't expecting there to be so many instrumental songs. There were a couple of songs I liked though.

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Mar 23 2026

I like how the album sounded, but the actual songs felt pretty wordy. Which, I guess makes sense since people say she has a "poet's spirit", it's just not really for me.

Smash by The Offspring
Mar 24 2026

I didn't like it for the most part, but I also didn't think that it was absolutely terrible. I did like the song What Happened to You? and could see myself listening to that one.

Sea Change by Beck
Mar 25 2026

For some reason I was convinced that I wasn't going to like this, but I actually really enjoyed it. I don't know how often I would revisit this album, however there's several songs that I would listen to again.

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
Mar 26 2026

This was fine. About halfway through the first song I was starting to getting bored of it though.

Out of Step by Minor Threat
Mar 27 2026

I had a feeling that I wouldn't like this album, and my feeling was 100% right. At least the album was short. Having said that, I actually didn't mind Cashing In. I would never listen to it again, but I didn't dislike it, so I guess that's something.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Mar 30 2026

This album is pretty solid. I don't really understand how The Girl Is Mine made it onto the album, yet alone being made the first single. And I'm going to be completely honest, this may be controversial, but I'm never like P.Y.T.

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Mar 31 2026

This was relaxing. I could see myself listening to this for background music when I'm painting.

Time Out Of Mind by Bob Dylan
Apr 01 2026

I like this slightly more than Blonde on Blonde. Emphasis on slightly. Really, I feel the same way about this one as I did with Blonde on Blonde except that I thought Dylan's voice wasn't quite as annoying. I still don't really like his voice though. The longer the album went on the less I "liked" it.

Sincere by Mj Cole
Apr 02 2026

I thought this was fine. There weren't any songs that I absolutely loved, but I didn't hate any of them either.

Beautiful Freak by Eels
Apr 03 2026

I liked this significantly more than I thought I would. Based on album artwork I was fully expecting it to be hard rock. This is more similar to the type of rock music I like.

Apr 06 2026

This was so close to a 4 star album from me, but I just don't really like the lead singer's voice that much.

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Apr 07 2026

I'd heard of The Zombies before and knew that I'd heard one of their songs before, but couldn't remember what the song was called off the top of my head. I also knew that their band name doesn't really match with the type of music that they made, so I figured that I would at least like this, but I ended up loving it. However, I enjoyed some songs more than others.

All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot
Apr 08 2026

I hate this. If I could give it 0 stars I would. This is really the only genre of music where I just don't understand how anyone could like it. Why do you like being screamed at? Are you okay? The moments in songs where the lead singer wasn't screaming at me, I thought it was slightly better, but I didn't like the instrumentation. I just felt like there was so much going on and it was overwhelming to me. Snuff is the only exception to everything I've said.

Next by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
Apr 09 2026

I liked this more than I thought I would. The songs were pretty catchy, but The Faith Healer kind of started to get boring.

Femi Kuti by Femi Kuti
Apr 10 2026

This was nice to listen to. It's one of those albums that just puts you in a good mood.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Apr 13 2026

I don't know how I feel about this. It's like one minute I like this and then the next I don't. Sometimes it would even happen mid-song.

I'm pretty into true crime, so I'd heard of Sex Pistols before purely because of Sid Vicious, but I hadn't ever listened to any of their music before. It was better than I thought it would be, however, I still didn't really like it that much. There's not even a slight chance that I'd listen to any of the songs on this again.

Goodbye And Hello by Tim Buckley
Apr 15 2026

When the album first started I thought it was fine, but then Pleasant Street started. That's the best new to me song I've heard in a while. I also liked Phantasmagoria in Two and the chorus of Goodbye and Hello, but I just couldn't get into the verses. Overall, my feelings were similar to how they were when I began the album. It was fine, but there were some standout tracks.

Dig Me Out by Sleater-Kinney
Apr 16 2026

The instrumentation was fine, but personally, I think that the lead singers voice was a bit annoying at times. I don't really know what it's called exactly, but the closest thing I can compare it to is when someone is talking and their voice is shaky.

Moving Pictures by Rush
Apr 17 2026

This was so hit or miss for me. I've never been the biggest fan of Tom Sawyer, but Limelight is one of my favorite classic rock songs of all time. I thought the rest were either fine or just sort of boring. I did sort of thing that I would like this more than I actually did.

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Apr 20 2026

While I hadn't necessarily heard a ton of The Cure's song before this, I did like all of the ones that I had heard. In general I do enjoy new wave, so I figured I would at least like this. My expectations for the album were exceeded. I don't think I would listen to any of these songs on their own, but I would absolutely listen to it as a whole again.

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Apr 21 2026

I've been meaning to listen to a Janelle Monae album, so this was perfect. I've heard a couple of songs features she's done and I enjoy her voice. I loved this even more than I thought I would.

More Specials by The Specials
Apr 22 2026

Some of the songs were fine and other were just bad. I actually was helping my mom with something and asked her if we could listen to this. She said that we could about halfway through the album I asked her what she thought and she said "great" very sarcastically. I told her I could turn it off and she said that she'd just tune it out.

Some people will say "today's music is terrible" or "my generation had better music" and an album like this is a great reminder that you can find terrible music from any decade. Sometimes it was even popular at the time of its release. In all seriousness though, I typically hate metal music, but I didn't absolutely hate all of these songs. Just most of them. The One was tolerable and Hold On was actually decent. Rollin' is iconic and I couldn't listen to My Way without thinking about the Neil Cicierega song that samples it.

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Apr 24 2026

I really thought that I'd hate this, probably because it wasn't really what I was expecting at all. I thought that LCD Soundsystem was more of a rock band than a dance band with some rock influences. To my surprise I really liked this.
