His best album as a whole and you fly through the entire thing.
Experimental, different, way ahead of its time.
Did not expect to like this so much
Glad I’ve heard it… to never hear it again
Not bad! I liked the vibe, should give it a second listen tho
Some great songs on there
Love the vibes, poppy and classy but I'm not sure I'll remember this
Fun and joyful pop. Love it!
Okay but not my cup of tea
Loved this! Need to relisten at one point
Funky fun but Le Freak whipes out the rest of the album tbh
Amazing! The first song sets the tone
Another one I'll need to listen to again, loved the sound and his voice but did not pay attention all the way through
I remember listening to this as a teenager and it’s still as good. The Peppers are somewhat overrated imo but there’s good stuff on this.
Me the entire time: is this Pink Floyd???
Instrumentals were fun and I do like Morrison’s voice on this, but it was just kinda boring. Nothing monumental
There's probably something to say about the impact and influence of this album but damn I cannot listen to this. I think this must be the first album I had to stop. First three songs were good but Aumgn took me out of it.
Loved the vocals, the rest not so much. I’m all here for a good and powerful ballad but too much is too much.
Never heard of them but this was a very satisfying listen. I liked his somewhat subdued vocals
Actually surprised I liked some songs on here as I’m no Dylan fan at all. I was somewhat entertained and there were a few songs winning me over until he decides to pull out a nasal note or weird cadence, not for me
I'd probably rate this somewhere between 4 and 5, it is certainly not her best work. But to counter some clearly biased reviews: 5 stars for this iconic album.
The soundtrack for The White Lotus set in Brazil. This is a record to shake!
Obviously I knew a few songs on here, but I was quite unfamiliar with the Pixies. What a shame! This is an album, cohesive, loud, personal, hit after hit. One of my favorite discoveries so far.
Eclectic and experimental
More of this please! This is what I signed up for: world music with power and grit, something I never would’ve discovered without this. Gimme more
Hot take: Hello is the only really good and memorable song on this. The rest falls flat
This was so much fun to listen to, and when you have Suspicious Minds on it. Bonafide classic!
Nostalgia and good beats combined
I feel disintegrated in the best possible way after listening to this album. Spooky, dreamy and sexy all at the same time.
I fell asleep while listening, so should probably listen to it again… but don’t know if it speaks well for the album anyway
It’d probably rate it a bit below 5 but damn, camp rock this well delivered deserves more
Not sure about the vocals, they also get quite lost in the instrumentals most of the time. I did like a bunch of songs though, Bailed Out in particular
Not something I would be able to listen to everyday, but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this. Soft, vulnerable and unique
Wanna hear someone moan for almost 50 minutes straight? No, me neither.
Not impressed. There’s some fun riffs, very Bowie-esque which I liked. But everything in between, lyrically, sometimes spoken word, is not it. Solely for The Passenger it gets another star.
This hybrid screaming-singing-rapping is not for me. It was dreadful but not as bad as I expected for some reason
I love The Stones but there’s absolutely no reason for this to be on this list, except that its their debut… but it’s just bad, it really is. Snoozefest
I liked the first half of the album, the second not so much.
There’s a lot of songs from Bob Marley that I casually knew, but I never dived deeper into his repertoire. What a joy to discover this album for the first time, a master class in reggae!
Why is this the perfect Sunday album?
Absolute top-notch production, combined with the Tears of Fears flair. What’s not to love?
This is the soundtrack for a rock horror flick, in a good way. Vocally I was not enjoying it as much, but the instrumentals and overall atmosphere pulled me in.
Mostly mesmerized by the voice, but I thoroughly enjoyed this listen. The production takes some interesting turns as well so a very engaging and complete record.
There’s a time and a place for this, but it’s not in my ears at 11 PM.
The staple of bossa nova. It’s relaxing and has that long summer night feel, which I love. The vocals mix so well with the instrumentals and really elevate each other. However, this is probably the lightest light of jazz which doesn’t make it all that interesting. Besides The Girl from Ipanema, I couldn't distinguish any of the songs from one another. Solid background music but that’s it.
This clearly laid the groundwork for later Queen but it’s too all over the place for my liking. They were experimenting and I’m glad they did, but therefore the album misses cohesiveness.
This simply doesn’t sound good… objectively. There’s the occasional somewhat decent song but overall just a mish mash of sounds.
This sounds both very old school, and yet super fresh. Truly a trailblazer.
Still not fond of his voice. I read there’s 7 albums from Dylan on here, mentally preparing myself
Pretty generic rock, which is not bad in and of itself, there’s some iconic songs on here. However, the album is heavily frontloaded and the second half did not really do it for me.
Cute lil country album but that’s about it.
I was scared of the duration but props to them, as a concept album this was well thought out. Not every song was to my liking but very unique in their delivery and story-wise.
Third Bob Dylan album I think and nope, I still cannot stand his voice. It’s probably the worst of the three so far, but the instrumentals are fine. Make You Feel My Love is a great song, but it sounds horrendous when he sings it.
I mean I get it, they’re good at what they do. They know how to jam but seriously, it’s interesting for the first two songs and that’s it. Another hour with screams and yapping thrown in between, was not necessary.
Surprisingly, I didn’t completely hate this. I liked the athmosphere they tried to create and the lyrics were interesting (when they were understandable). Not keen on the spoken word and the “vocals” in general.
This album reeks of small dick energy
Highly influential for its sound and flow, rightfully so as there are some gems on here. However hating on other minorities to uplift yourself, is not it and sadly, there’s a lot of that, A LOT!
It’s way too extensive for what it is, but gotta respect the man and his craft.
The fact that this is their debut, is kinda mind-boggling. They really paved their own way, great record from start to finsh.
Not typically my taste but it’s a nice stripped down album.
It needs some time for the engine to warm up, but when it does there’s some amazing tracks on here. True to their own sound.
I didn’t hate the music, it was just there. But for a compilation album of 3 hours to be included on this list, no thank you… skip
Both new and old school stuff from Mr. Gaye, but very raw and emotional. There’s an interesting juxtaposition between the music and his storytelling, I loved it. The soul and funk are still lingering on.
The instrumentals and percussion had me in from beginning to end. The voice reminded me of Anohni, whom I love, so that was only a bonus. Captivating listen!
For a debut album, this is pretty solid and it has Sultans of Swing. They know how to play the guitar but I’m not really thrilled by it, lots of the same and vocally there’s not a lot happening.
They are obviously a “post”-something because wth was that: instrumentals erratic, production abysmal, lyrics inaudible, vocals non-existent… there was not much to like tbh. Occasionally a fun riff I guess, that’s about it.
This felt mellow which I liked, but it loses steam halfway through. Very accessible music and easy to listen to but there’s not much differentiation because of it.
Some interesting themes and topics touched on. The vocals are not the best but I can appreciate what they put out.
As a fellow Belgian, this is a nice surprise. His most famous song wasn’t even on here but that just shows just what a versatile artist he was. One of a kind voice and musician. I probably would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t a live album.
I’m no country fan at all, but this was fun and cute. It’s certainly not timeless, but it has its rightful time and place in music.
I mean, it’s punk rock again. Some fun songs on here but it gets hella repetitive. I liked this more than I would’ve thought, the vocals and instrumentals weren’t as all over the place as some other punk albums.
What a great voice, poignant yet smooth like butter. Son of a Preacher Man is a classic and I’m very glad I got more familiar with Dusty’s work.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this but it was quite surprising. My kind of experimental, it feels kinda ahead of its time. Interesting instrumentals and vocals, not everything got me but it kept me going.
Okay the punk I get it, it has something to it. It’s fast-paced and certainly here, it’s only 22 minutes long which I didn’t hate. Still not my genre overall and the vocals are really off-putting tbh.
I wasn’t all that familiar with Nine Inch Nails but damn this was a good listen. I was very entertained and I think every part of my body at some point was feeling something.
The dreamy atmosphere makes this such an easy listen, was I blown away? No, but it does what it set out to do almost perfectly. Sometimes it feels like floating in Crosby’s thoughts, very ethereal and unique.
Ah Talking Heads, one of my favorites. Don’t know if this album in particular is one of my favorites from them but when they set bar that high, it’s difficult to constantly match it. However, solid 4 stars album!
I liked quite some songs on here but it does get increasingly difficult to listen to the longer the album goes on. Nevertheless, some great music and interesting sounds to enjoy.
Very interesting listen and my introduction to Thelonious Monk. Really enjoyed listening to this with the chaotic and scattered tunes, it oozes jazz.
There’s nothing really memorable about this album. I liked the first half more than the second, but nothing really stood out overall.
I kinda dig this but it’s not a consistent listen. It started off strong but song three then took me out of it and that’s pretty much the rollercoaster I was on for the rest of the album. Some amazing songs but also questionable choices. I’ll rate it on the higher end though because overall I enjoyed the theatrics.
Funky, electronic, experimental with a touch of jazz, is right up my alley so not a lot of complaints. Is it the most memorable? No, but it was just weird enough to capture my attention for the full 40minutes it was on. Apparently he’s mostly known for being in CAN, I did not like Tago Mago at all so maybe I have to revisit it. Although I feel like this has more spunk, pzazz and was just overall more fun to listen to for me.
It’s honestly just banger after banger. Near perfect opera rock to me, I’d say his voice lends itself better to when it gets full theatrical so the ballads are my least favorite. Overall very satisfying listen worth 5 stars on here.
I don’t have very strong feelings about this one. I mean it’s just bland pop, I wasn’t moved or pulled in by any of it tbh.
I didn’t like this as much as Pyromania, once again the delivery is great but overall the songs did not click with me as much. Pour Some Sugar On Me is a worthy standout
