Fun album, not my typical fare. Really enjoyed the storytelling throughout.
What can I say? This is an absolute classic of songwriting. Loved it throughout.
This is a great album, one of their best. But maaaaaan it's long.
The first album I bought on physical media! This is such a highlight from front to back. It really became them coming into their own, and leaving their standard style behind. A lot of experimentation, and a lot of absolute bangers.
Am really enjoying this. I've heard his hits, but never really listened to his music at large. The other songs seem to just be an extension of the hits. Great songwriting, probably misunderstood at the time, but in these times most of these songs hit hard. Definitely "working man's tunes"
Pretty good album overall. Not really my thing but I can see why it’s up there. A good mix of blues and rock.
It was okay. I didn’t sense anything groundbreaking but it was I suppose very good for the mid nineties. Didn’t hate it, but don’t remember much of it either.
Man this was so good. From the Beatles cover, to the two major hits, it's a great R&B album from one of the most prolific artists in the 70s. I don't think I'd ever listened front to back, but it was a great listen with no bad ones in there.
This is in my top 25 easily. Her songwriting is extremely unique, and moving. This took everything from Pure Heroine and bumped it up. I've not been as big on her more recent releases, but this one never fails me.
This needs no introduction. It’s a timeless classic that hits differently in different eras of life. The 50th anniversary remaster in Dolby Atmos breathes fresh life into it. I think I went ahead and listened three times. So damn good.
This was the most forgettable album I’ve ever listened to. I honestly don’t remember a thing about it.
This was a decent blues album. There were some really good grooves here and there, but overall it was kinda middling to me.
No. Just ... no.
This was great. Rock opera, lots of themes, and just good jams.
Punk rock opera. Energy from start to finish. It tells an amazing story that was extremely relevant in 2004, and even more so in modern times. This is a 5/5 album, and always will be.
This was actually really good. I can completely understand how it got lost in the mix during the era - Beach Boys, Beatles, Bowie, Dylan - they never stood a chance. But it was a good half hour of music. Nothing groundbreaking but solid front to back.
This was a great jazz album, perfect for listening at work. Nothing outstanding, but good, solid music throughout.
This was a great listen. It started off really weird, and I don't speak French, but the music was fantastic. Can definitely hear them in later NIN, Ministry, and Rammstein. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Yeah this was fun - so many classics on here. Crazy that this was one of three LPs for them that year. But yeah, thoroughly enjoyed it.
This was a great folk-punk album. I had never heard of these guys, but being a fan of the likes of Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys, this was a treat. It was maybe a bit long - Apple Music only offered the expanded edition - but I really enjoyed it.
This was a classic gangster rap album from the early 90s. Had his typical feel and flow, really good stuff. I am not typically a huge fan of it, but this one is great.
This is nothing short of a classic. I listened to this on repeat during my youth. The haunting performances were made even more visceral after the months afterwards. A great collection of covers and originals, including a collaboration with Meat Puppets. Definitely must listen material.
Eh, it's 70s power pop. It's good, but fairly forgettable. His voice definitely grates on the nerves after a bit.
Such a fun album. Pre-grunge alt rock. Such an influential band, and this one really shows those influences in spades. Easy win here.
There's so much emotion in this album. You can tell he was either going through some shit, or was playing it tongue in cheek for some of the songs. All in all, a fantastic singer-songwriter record.
This was good listening. It blended into the background as I worked, which I think was the goal he was aiming for. Nothing special, but just solidly good music.
This was a fun listen. I just let it roll over me, and enjoyed it thoroughly. I've never been one for folk music, but this journey has me enjoyinig them almost most of all.
This is a great album. He's a pissed-off-at-the-man version of Dylan. Great storytelling and a fun listen.
Ass a bass player, this album is a wet dream. It's also some of the best R&B/soul/funk I've ever heard. Fantastic album.
I mean, it was okay. I'm just not a huge fan of his, never have been.
Great progressive rock album. Got weird at points which I loved. Reminds me I need to do a deep dive on them.
I really enjoyed this. Clapton and Allman really went all out. Great rock album, fantastic guitars, expressive lyricism.
I truly enjoyed this one. Great indie rock, that has an obvious influence of so much 90s alternative rock. Absolute blast.
This is, from start to finish, a pure masterpiece. It really shows their growth as a band, as a continuation of OK Computer. Every song is perfect, and it's just a dream to listen to.
I really liked this. Definitely a unique piece for its time. Lots more bass features than I remembered, but then I've never really given BS a chance. It's so nice to hear all of the influences that other artists I love have taken from them - I need to do a deeper dive on their Ozzy-fronted library.
Man, I just can't make myself like AC/DC. I've tried many times, and gave it a good shot this time - but I just can't. This ain't for me.
This was a fun bluesy-rock album. It fell into the background for the most part, but I found myself humming along regardless.
This is obviously an extremely influential album. Funnily enough, not for black metal, but for thrash such as Slayer, Metallica, et al. Regardless, this was a fantastic album, front to back.
This was fantastic. It was brazen, outlandish, and flamboyant - exactly what you'd expect and want from Queen. Front to back, just a spectacular spectacle.
Man, what an album, from a certain time in my life. Seven Nation Army has been abused by sports, but that solo still gets me. Ball & Biscuit, all of it - just so damn good.
Great psych-rock album. Has all of the hallmarks of the Bay Area from the late 60s. Not typically my genre to enjoy, but I liked it well enough.
I just couldn't on this one. I tried for a good 4-5 songs, but it just was meh. Maybe I'll come back to it.
His was a fun, fresh album. I enjoyed it throughout and now want to explore their other music. Very good
One of my all time faves. Hits a certain nostalgia button, but is also just a great example of 90s alt rock. So many timeless classics.
Easy 5 star. This album is so light and fun, yet has strong undercurrents of existential dread and cynicism. I can listen front to back, back to front - it's just that good.
This was pretty fun, although definitely sign of the times. I can see the influence on other bands that I've come to love. Nothing spectacular, but for sure a foundation for later pop punk.
This was a fun 90s alt rock album. I remember some of the tracks from MTV. There was nothing standout here, but definitely fun to listen to. Hits nostalgia just right.
This was an iconic 80s pop album. It maybe went on a bit too long, but I actually enjoyed jamming to it.
Yeah, not a fan of this. It's ok, but there are so many better records of the era. Just feels generic.
Pretty decent, good to go back and hear some of these in original format. Overall a middling to good album
Having been a Placebo fan for many, many years - HOW HAVE I NOT LISTENED TO THESE GUYS BEFORE? This was a fantastic album, and I now realize Placebo are just a fantastic extension of them. The noise, the beats and melodies - all fantastic.
This album makes me sad that we didn't get more Ian Curtis. In the same vein as Bauhaus, She Wants Revenge, it is gothic dance music. A truly fun album front to back.
They crawled so Pulp could fly.
Man I loved this. Great new wave punk mix. Fun from start to finish.
Man, this was so good. The sexual energy, the guitars - DAT BASS. And of course, his amazing lyrics and vocals. Super good listen.
No ... just, no.
Man this was such a great 90s hip hop album. So many good beats and tracks, and the flows were great too.
I absolutely loved this. It was unapologetically 90s gangster rap. The beats were great, and his songwriting is something not often found in the genre.
Really enjoyed this album. It was at the height of the Britpop era, but you can feel at times where Damien would eventually go with Gorillaz. Overall a really fun romp in one of (IMO) music's finest eras.
This was an exceptional album. From start to finish, the mix of pop and punk/rock just had me going. Loved every minute of it, and of course Psycho Killer is just an absolute banger.
This was fine. 70s folk rock. I had more fun learning about them and their history.
