Let's just say that in "Sledgehammer", he's not actually talking about a sledgehammer...

Ah, I see! So this is what influenced the jazz freak out at the end of Radiohead's "The National Anthem"! "Track B" was definitely my favorite here, but when it comes to the closing track, there are parts I liked (especially in the last 5 or 6 minutes), but I didn't love every second of it. Still a very solid jazz album!

I love the message, but I don't love every single song, so this is a low 4, with the stellar production saving a lot of it.

I thought it was boring the first time I listened to it, and I still do. "The Fairest of the Seasons", "These Days", and "I'll Keep It with Mine" are pretty good though.

Well of all things I could've expected this album to be, this wasn't it. Also Pinky from Animaniacs on the mic in "Fodderstompf"

At it's best, it's decent, but at it's worst it's just boring. This album is just so painfully 90s.

I absolutely loved "Dealer". The rest is fine, but not all of it is really my taste. Great production all around though. It gets a high 3

It can be a bit too repetitive for me at times, but the production is crazy good, and there are some absolute bangers. Also "Lean Woman Blues" is super underrated! It gets a mid 4

It has some of the group's best songs, but it also has some real misses that don't need to be there. Still, so many peak songs, so it gets a mid 4

Okay, so I think this is Bowie's best album. Is it as instrumentally innovative as Low or Heroes? No. Is it as experimental as Blackstar? Also no. But I think this is his most consistent album and has some of his best stuff, with "Five Years" being a top 10 Bowie song for me. This is a very high 4, almost a 5

Okay, I like that Like Clockwork is in the book, but why this? Like if you're going to pick 2 QOTSA albums, wouldn't it make more sense to have Songs for the Deaf? Even Rated R would make more sense. This album is still pretty good though, I'll give it a very high 3

The Fall is definitely a band that I want to get more into, but I've never really loved this album. I hope I like some of their other stuff more. I'll give this a high 3

I don't think it's quite as consistent as The Joshua Tree and I definitely don't like it more than Achtung Baby, but this still has some of their best stuff! This is a mid 4

I'm starting the "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" challenge, and this is definitely not the best start. I have obviously heard worse albums, but this one's still not great. The mixing and production is pretty bad, like I've heard older albums with better production. Alice Cooper also decides to add weird adlibs to several songs which practically ruin those songs for me. There were only really 2 songs that I would actually return to, those being "Hello Hooray" and the best song on the album "No More Mr. Nice Guy".

If this were just the first disk, it would be a 10/10 album. However, that doesn't mean the rest isn't good, because there are great tracks and moments on both Disk 2 and the Apple Jams. Outstanding album, probably the best double album I have listened to so far!

Not quite as good as All 'N All, but it's still got some very funky bangers.

I'm glad we got a garage rock revival in the 2000s, because if this album is a representation of the genre in the 60s, the 2000s bands did waaayyy better. There is literally nothing special about this.

This is good and all, but I just don't think that reggae is really my thing. It's a bit too repetitive and not enough sonic diversity. Well, at least with this album. This is the only reggae album I have listened to, so maybe other albums are more interesting. It's still a low to mid 4.

Would be 5 stars if it weren't for Moonchild, but Moonchild exists, so it gets a mid 4

I think Sea Change is better but this is still really good and has some phenomenal tracks. It does lose steam with the last few tracks though. This is a low 4

My feelings toward this album are pretty much the same to my feelings of the Paul Revere album. Literally just in one ear and out the other. Just a nothing burger album. It's not offensively bad though, so I'm gonna give it a 2

I had a friend tell me yesterday that jazz is the only good genre in the 50s. I'm starting to think he might be right. This is a high 3

Man, the production is muddy even for a 70s album! There are like 2 songs that I think are actually decently produced, those being "Bloodsucker" and the best song on the album, "Child in Time". This is still pretty good for what it's worth, but I think there's a better Deep Purple album than this. This is a high 3

Long jazz pieces are kind of weird for me. Because there are parts I absolutely love, and parts I could care less about. This is still a good album, but it's not entirely my thing. I know it might sound kind of shallow, but I prefer more energetic jazz music. I'm gonna give this a mid to high 3

This is nowhere near as experimental or influential as the banana album (like even "The Murder Mystery" is tame compared to "Heroin" or "European Son"), but it still has some extremely good songs on here! My personal favorites are probably "What Goes On" and "I'm Set Free". This is a mid 4

This is one of the most boring hip-hop albums I have ever heard! The bars are so cheesy and basic that it's painful! I understand this was groundbreaking at the time but that doesn't make it good. All it really does is make me appreciate how much better hip-hop eventually got. There's only one song I liked so this is still getting a 2, but it is probably the lowest 2 I've given so far.

I'm gonna be honest, I think Jeff Buckley did "Lilac Wine" better, but I think Nina did "Wild Is the Wind" better than Bowie did. Like the guy on the piano goes crazy during the chorus. Great album overall though! It's a mid to high 4

Man, I really love the song "Black Sabbath" by the band Black Sabbath from their debut album Black Sabbath. But for real though, this is a great album! Not as good as Paranoid, but I think it's better than Master of Reality. This album does have my favorite guitar performance from Tony Iommi with the crazy guitar solo(s) from "Warning". Yeah, great album! It's a high 4

I actually listened to this for the first time about a week ago, and my opinion on it hasn't changed. It's a good album but my least favorite Cure album that I have listened to. It's a low 4

Turning a pretty misogynistic song into a feminist anthem is an absolute power move, especially in the 60s! This is a mid 4

Oh how the mighty have fallen. This reminds me of when Muse went from Black Holes and Revelations to The Resistance. It's such a disappointing drop in quality. I haven't listened to the two albums before this yet, but from what I've heard they at least tried new things in those albums instead of trying to make another Joshua Tree. Very disappointing. I would give this a 3 if their previous albums weren't so much better, so it gets a 2.
