To Be Continued...
Let's just say that in "Sledgehammer", he's not actually talking about a sledgehammer...
Ah, I see! So this is what influenced the jazz freak out at the end of Radiohead's "The National Anthem"! "Track B" was definitely my favorite here, but when it comes to the closing track, there are parts I liked (especially in the last 5 or 6 minutes), but I didn't love every second of it. Still a very solid jazz album!
I love the message, but I don't love every single song, so this is a low 4, with the stellar production saving a lot of it.
I thought it was boring the first time I listened to it, and I still do. "The Fairest of the Seasons", "These Days", and "I'll Keep It with Mine" are pretty good though.
THE ONE PIECE IS REEEEEAAAALLLL!!!!!
This is by no means perfect, but I love the atmosphere on this album
Well of all things I could've expected this album to be, this wasn't it. Also Pinky from Animaniacs on the mic in "Fodderstompf"
At it's best, it's decent, but at it's worst it's just boring. This album is just so painfully 90s.
I absolutely loved "Dealer". The rest is fine, but not all of it is really my taste. Great production all around though. It gets a high 3
It can be a bit too repetitive for me at times, but the production is crazy good, and there are some absolute bangers. Also "Lean Woman Blues" is super underrated! It gets a mid 4
It has some of the group's best songs, but it also has some real misses that don't need to be there. Still, so many peak songs, so it gets a mid 4
I mean, he's got a good voice, but that's all that this has going for it. It's a high 2
This album is pretty good, but it is a little top-heavy. It's a mid 4
*insert joke about his nickname being accurate* It's a high 2, I only liked 3 songs and the rest wasn't good
Yay, a 60s psych rock album that I can enjoy without drugs! Mid 4
What a niche band, I hope they get big some day... This is a very high 4
I find it insane that both Pixies and Sonic Youth have female bass players named Kim. I'll give this a mid 4
I think the only song I really don't care about here is "Yellow Submarine". Other than that, phenomenal album! Very high 4
I have nothing funny or insightful to say about this album, so I'll just say that this is a good album. I'll give it a mid 4
Well given the fact that Bowie couldn't remember recording this album, this was in fact the side effects of the cocaine. This is a mid 4
You know, I ultimately believe drugs are bad for you, but I can't deny that without them, Jimi Hendrix wouldn't have played as crazy as he did without them. This is a high 4
KNOCK KNOCK WHO'S THERE??? THE DOOR!!!!!! This is a mid 4
Okay, I like that Like Clockwork is in the book, but why this? Like if you're going to pick 2 QOTSA albums, wouldn't it make more sense to have Songs for the Deaf? Even Rated R would make more sense. This album is still pretty good though, I'll give it a very high 3
The Fall is definitely a band that I want to get more into, but I've never really loved this album. I hope I like some of their other stuff more. I'll give this a high 3
I'm starting the "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" challenge, and this is definitely not the best start. I have obviously heard worse albums, but this one's still not great. The mixing and production is pretty bad, like I've heard older albums with better production. Alice Cooper also decides to add weird adlibs to several songs which practically ruin those songs for me. There were only really 2 songs that I would actually return to, those being "Hello Hooray" and the best song on the album "No More Mr. Nice Guy".
If this were just the first disk, it would be a 10/10 album. However, that doesn't mean the rest isn't good, because there are great tracks and moments on both Disk 2 and the Apple Jams. Outstanding album, probably the best double album I have listened to so far!
Not quite as good as All 'N All, but it's still got some very funky bangers.
I like the first 3 tracks. The rest are boring though.
I'm glad we got a garage rock revival in the 2000s, because if this album is a representation of the genre in the 60s, the 2000s bands did waaayyy better. There is literally nothing special about this.
This is good and all, but I just don't think that reggae is really my thing. It's a bit too repetitive and not enough sonic diversity. Well, at least with this album. This is the only reggae album I have listened to, so maybe other albums are more interesting. It's still a low to mid 4.
It's good. but definitely not my favorite. It's got a nice atmosphere, but I think other albums do it better. I'd say it's a mid 4, because I still like a handful of songs.
There is some great vocals and guitar work on this album, but there are some moments (especially in the second half) that kind of just fade into the background. Still, not a bad album. It's a mid 4
Genuinely the most underrated Talking Heads album. It's a high 4
This would have been a good glam rock album if the vocals weren't so annoying. Like bro is not Robert Plant. It's a high 3, because at least the instrumentals sound good.
he opening track is easily the best one here. The production is great overall and there are some great beats, but any song with MC Det is ruined by some annoying vocal manipulation. It's a mid 4
None of this sound bad, but it's definitely not going to stick with me. Kind of a in one ear and out the other album. The opening track was pretty good though. It get's a mid 3
This was good, but I think MBDTF impressed me more and has some higher highs. I think my favorite song on here is "Two Words". This is mid to high 4
One of the best produced 60s albums I have heard! It's a very high 4
The first 2 tracks and "Halloween" are absolute bangers, but why on Earth did they decide to cover The Velvet Underground like that? I'm gonna give this a high 3
Of course this is the album the 1001 album generator gave me. And honestly, this is pretty underrated. It's not as good as Jolene, but it's still a pretty good country album. Again, rest in peace Dolly Parton. I'll give this a high 3
Don't really have much to say about this other than it's good, and it gets a mid 4
Fun fact:"Mrs. Robinson" was my parents' wedding song. This is a low 4
She may not be paranoid, but she is definitely an android. Very high 4
Guys, I think her name is Latifah. I can't be sure though. I'll give this a high 3
SCRAM!!! IT'S THE PO-PO!!! This is a low 4
