1001 Albums Summary

Massive fan of his earlier stuff, still love this album and reckon it will grow on me further in due time. Couple of songs that show he never lost his writing ability even right up to the end <3

Banger. Their best album- 5 of the first 6 songs are fire and the closers have grown on me too.

Cool album, got some really nice songs on it and she’s got a great voice. Love some of the lyrics too.

Couple of cool songs (roll Plymouth rock is great) but overall not really my vibe

“I won’t share you” is a beautiful closer but other than that nothing fully grabs me, could see myself coming back to it though

I went back and forth with this one- had to listen to it 3 times to decide. Don’t buy much of it, but there’s a couple of nice tunes in there. Can’t see myself coming back to it too often

My haiku: My Wave, Spoonman best, Day I Tried To Live best too, How good is grunge rock.

Haiku: This had some nice songs, But nothing fully grabbed me, Maybe I’ll come back.

A haiku: I’m not a jazz guy, So while this was fun to try, It don’t make me cry. 3/10

Le haiku: Not the Beatles best, Yet the tunes are heckin good, I enjoyed it so.

A haiku: Raw Power is loud, Can be fun, or a bit much, Overall not bad. 6/10

A haiku: Never heard of Gray, But knew a few of these songs, Was nice listening. 6/10

Bohemian rhapsody adds a whole point, other than that it’s cool I like the one about the car but other than that meh

Some of the songs were really cool, but the end of the album dragged out a bit for me. 6/10

Some really nice songs (ladies and gents, broken heart) and I liked the start of good cop bad cop but not the last 8 mins or so. Overall pretty good! 6/10

Can’t really decide- it’s a slow burn type of album. Was decent on first couple of listens but don’t know if it burned enough to come back to 5/10

Tom Waits is amazing. Love his weirdness and the songs it delivers, even if this album wasn’t his best 8/10

Not what I expected from a “soul machine”- was alright though, maybe I’ll come back to it. I like the intro 5/10

This is an absolute masterpiece. Leonard Cohen’s lyrics are mystical and transport you to another place. His guitar is haunting- to anyone who says he can’t play guitar- maybe he can’t do a jimmy page solo but he achieves a different kind of aura with his circular style. I still remember going ‘oh I heard of this guy’ and putting the CD on and quickly realising this was something special. A genius’ first work and one of my favourites. 10/10

It was ok, nice to passively listen to 5.5/10

This album bats deep. Love “don’t wanna be a soldier”, “oh yoko”, “gimme some truth”, “how do you sleep”. Some classics too like “imagine” and “jealous guy”. 8/10

This feels like one that’s wrong to listen to on steaming, this was meant for vinyl. Had some good songs, liked H2O gate blues the most. 6.5/10

Better second time around- feels like an album that gets better the more you listen. Pleasantly surprised. 7/10

Masterpiece. Love his poetry. Not as good as his debut (not sure any album is) but is still soooo good 9.5/10

I thought I'd like this more, but other than blackskinhead which was cool and the bound 2 hook which was fun I really couldn't get around it and was waiting for the album to end. 3/10
