Back In Black

Even in albums I enjoy, there's always one or two songs that just don't live up to the rest of the album. In The Court of The Crimson King is an exception. It's an album where I genuinely cannot pick my favourite song (Sure, there's only 5 on the tracklist but they're divided into parts so technically there's more). Even the improv part of Moonchild, which fans tend to dislike and which I found boring at first listen, is amazing once it transitions to the title track, and I can't imagine the album without it. That's really one of the many strengths of ITCOTCK: each new song part ends up complimenting the last one. The majority of the album is actually quieter and more peaceful than 21st Century Schizoid Man and the title track might make one think; it starts off with the angry but anthemic first song, then becomes more mellow and introspective, gradually building up to the climactic final track. That's not to say any of the 3 tracks in the middle are in any way worse; they're just as perfect as the opener and closer. I'd like to point out the absolutely fantastic instrumental work on this album (just like all future King Crimson albums, of course). Michael Giles' drumming carries the entire album and the whole thing would be significantly lesser if the band had a less talented drummer. Ian McDonald's (rip) flute parts are simply perfect too. In conclusion, listen to this album. Or I will find you.
This is so boring. This album has no right being over an hour long. There's so much pointless noodling it makes me want to bash my head against a wall. The vocals are bad too. Why Does Love Gotta Be So Sad is a pretty good song though. I think if the songs ended sooner it would be a much better album.
some good songs but most are just mid
H
The vocal arrangements and melodies on this album are really pleasant. Production is really good too. The songwriting isn't that great though and it gets boring despite it being less than 30 minutes. First song is definitely a highlight. Also Bull Session is really weird but I enjoyed it for some reason?
kinda cringe
Rolling in the Deep is a great song and Adele is undoubtedly a talented vocalist, but the rest of the album just falls flat. It's nothing special and a bore to listen to.
Not as good as some of Bowie's other albums, but Young Americans, Somebody Up There Likes Me and Fame are classics.
Yeah it was pretty good I guess. Most of the tracks are repetitive but there's a few that really stand out, even though I'm normally not a huge fan of the Stones.
funky :) My favourite songs are I Want to Take You Higher, Everyday People and Sex Machine (best song on this album tbh, 13 minutes and it doesn't feel too long at all)
A Girl Like You is a pretty fun little song. I like the psychedelic rock influence on Find Somebody. All the songs after that are boring and forgettable though. A Place In The Sun is the worst one, it just drags on for too long
Ugh,.I want to like this album because the instrumentals are really great (especially the acoustic guitar) but Sinatra's voice just ruins it. It's not that he's a bad singer, I just don't think he fits this type of music. If it was just thr Portuguese parts it would honestly be better. The lyrics are quite boring too and most songs sound very similar to each other.

I have to admit this is probably the first hip hop album I've listened to fully. And this one is pretty good! The lyrics can get silly at times but the beats are great and the flow is always there.
It's pretty good. Not all tracks stand out but the ones that do (Like Gasoline, Ms. Jackson, Red Velvet) are really good.
siouxise is such. a vocalist yaes queun slay (´∩。• ᵕ •。∩`) (♡ω♡ ) ~♪😍😍😍
The riffs are surprisingly catchy. B-Side is a bit weaker but it's still all very solid. Shoutouts to Phantom of the Opera which is probably the best IM song.
While the songs that are good are VERY good, most don't really do much for me. Also it gets pretty repetitive at times. There's only so much Depeche Mode i can listen to in one sitting. Still a solid synthpop album, but feels a bit dated.
Man the vocals here are really an acquired taste. Everything else is pretty good but I just can't get over the parts where she sings high. The second half is better than the first one though.
doors more like MID
It's good background music. Gets boring if you actively listen to it but I guess that's kind of the point.
First two tracks and Soul Surfing are pretty good, the rest is kind of underwhelming. The vocal samples can get annoying at times.
I don't really like the lyrics but the beats are pretty good.
While My Generation is still the best song on here, the others aren't too bad either. They don't sound too original but they're pretty fun.
The beats are chill I guess but it doesn't do anything interesting. It's decent. I think the ambient parts are better than the more downtempo ones, like on The Monkey King.
I really like the piano playing. I don't listen to jazz a lot but in my opinion this is a good album.
Not really my thing but it's a fun listen. The lyrics are also surprisingly dark.

Yesh it's pretty good 👍
Dumb, Lake of Fire and Where Did You Sleep Last Night are so good
All the songs kinda sound the same
some good songs but most are just mid
Crappy 80's arena rock. There's a few kind of listenable songs but most are just obnoxious filler.
Fun, even though almost all the songs sound the same
Pretty fun, but nothing special. Girls Just Want To Have Fun and She Bop are pretty good, but I'm tired of Time After Time by now after hearing it on the radio so much.
Surprisingly, a lot of the songs here were familiar to me. Pretty good album, fun and atmospheric.
Not really a fan of trip-hop... most of the songs are just boring and lifeless. A few are actually pretty good (like Glory Box and Roads) but they don't make up for the rest of the album.
It was better than I expected actually
Her voice is beautiful, and the lyrics are touching too
Really smooth. Great production on this one
Good as background music, but gets a bit repetitive. Nice textures though.
Some of the instrumentals are nice, really not a fan of the singer though. Kind of corny
Shit
Some nice hooks, but the singer isn't that great and it really doesn't stand out in any way
Nice atmosphere and instrumentals, kind of boring and repetitive aside from a few stand-out tracks though.
Really nice mixing and instrumentals, but the vocals sound a bit dated.
Kind of repetitive, production is good but not enough to make it interesting
Penis Music Falls off in the second half, but the first few songs are really really good
Her voice is nice but the songs are kind of boring
Good
kinda mid
obnoxious. also every song is the same
goes hard
Really ahead of its time
this makes me want to Sea Change to a better Beck album
If albums had a smell this one would smell like sweat
Pleasant to listen to but I feel like I'd appreciate this more if I was older and liked this sort of pop Also most of the songs are really similar, sorry :(
Cool :)
amazing spooky atmosphere
I like the sound texture of the instruments
W
epic
great soul album. I especially like the longer tracks
boring
some songs (like the aerosmith feature one) genuinely slap but others are pretty boring
she slayed on this one
Great instrumentation and vocals. Probably the best chamber pop album I've heard yet
I hate Kiss but this is catchy and not terrible. Just a bit boring
Surprisingly good. Very chill (except for the last track obviously)
Becomes boring after like the 3rd track or so
It's decent enough
An actual "rock classic" album that doesn't suck. I listened to the 17-track version which is better in my opinion, as it flows much better and has some iconic songs.
Least insufferable Oasis moment
Really boring album, literally no songs stand out. If this is one of U2's best ones I don't think I'll like them very much.
I was expecting to be disappointed after Back in Black, but I was pleasantly surprised. I guess AC/DC weren't always bad.
I like the lyrics
haha weed not much variety in the songs, but it's decent as background music
The lyrics and concept of the album is brilliant and the arrangements fit the songs really well. I liked this one
Moonshake is the song ever
Incredible
I only really liked the last song (Answering Machine) tbh
it's ok. none of the songs really stand out but the title track is decent
good
wowie zowie
it's fine. their best album but not really interesting
highlight of this album for me is the first song, the next 4 songs or so are pretty good then it becomes mediocre. also the reggae song is just bad
on first listen i think i like this less than Let Love In but it's still really fucking cool. love the lyrics
dance music for nerds
pretty repetitive, which wouldn't be a problem if the songs had more energy
