This album is pretty darn good. Had some nice recognizable hits on it. Was fun to listen to. Here are my individual song reviews...
Welcome to the Jungle (8/10): Such a banger. The Axl Rose moans are classic.
It's So Easy (6/10): Sounds like a Guns N Roses song, but didn't have anything special to set it apart. Pretty solid but only slightly above average.
Nightrain (7.5/10): I liked the feel of this song. It was pretty upbeat and felt like more of a feel-good song.
Out Ta Get Me (5.5/10): Decent feel, didn't really stick with me in any way.
Mr. Brownstone (5.5/10): I believe this song is about some sort of drugs, so I can't really say I relate. Had a nice sound to it though.
Paradise City (9/10): TAKE ME HOMEE absolutely love this song.
My Michelle (6.5/10): I got into this one a little bit, I didn't really expect to. Pretty decent.
Think About You (7.5/10): I never heard this one before, I really thought it was kinda good actually.
Sweet Child O' Mine (8.5/10): OK yeah this one is a little overplayed but still a beautiful song. The riff on this one is a classic.
You're Crazy (8/10): This one had me up and dancing! Did not expect this so be such a banger.
Anything Goes (7/10): I liked it! Not out of this world or anything but it was a good song.
Rocket Queen (7/10): Great song!
Never heard of this band before.
The lead singer sounds a lot like the lead singer from Coldplay, and the sounds had a lot of similarities to the early Coldplay as well. However, this album did not quite reach the level of some of those classic early Coldplay albums like Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head.
I liked the album but it isn't something I think I need to hear more than once. I love the album cover though that is very cool. 3/5 stars to this album!
SO MANY HITS ON THIS ALBUM!! what a classic
Not really my style, but I respect how amazing this album is and it absolutely deserves 4 stars.
Whatever this style is, I didn’t like it. The sound, the instrumentation, the rhythm, it did not fit my taste
However, I respect the fact that this was David Bowie's last album and it faces a lot of deep topics like death. So I will bump it up to 2 stars because of this. I think the whole thing just went over my head a bit, not really sure.
Before listening to this album today, I had only heard Thunderstruck, Back in Black, and Highway to Hell.
This album was literally 40 minutes of Highway to Hell, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, they could've been a little more creative, but what works works. What can I say. 4/5 stars easily.
Okay this was super interesting to listen to actually, never heard of this guy before, was really intrigued by the impact he had.
Of course I don't think I would listen to his stuff every day, but it had a nice jam and it was pretty good! 3/5 stars.
This album had a nice beat, not my style really. Very similar to the album I had yesterday so I was kinda tired of it. But it will get the same rating. 3/5
Man I really wanted to rate this guy higher, but he just wasn’t at the level of my other 4s. I was surprised to get such a recent album on here. His voice was impeccable and it isn’t the style I usually listen to so it was interesting. While there are no half stars I would like to give this album a 3.5/5 for the record
Wow I am going to hate myself for doing this. I usually am NOT a pop fan. I find it generic and shallow. But I am rating this one 5/5 stars.
Is it because I haven't gotten a 5 star album yet and I really wanted one? Possibly.
Is it because I am familiar with Adele and already know her sound? Possibly.
Is it because this album was impeccable, with so much feeling and insane vocals? Possibly.
Adele, I don't know what you did, but that was an amazing album.
Their guitar sound is amazing!!! The songs did kinda all sound the same but I love the guitar
I did not know this was the white stripes guy! I was super impressed with the guitar sound and the keys were amazing as well. As a piano player I definitely smiled when I heard the keys come in mostly on the second half of the album.
I was pleasantly surprised by this album. By the album cover it looked like folk or something but turned out to be some cool rock tunes. 4/5
Meh it had a nice groove but I didn’t really vibe with the lyrics.
This album didn't sound horrible but at the same time there was absolutely no purpose or direction whatsoever. It sounded like the artist was playing with random sounds. And the songs were so long for no reason.
If you can’t sing, then maybe stick to instrumentals. The first couple songs were kind of nice until the guy started singing. It does not deserve a 3 or more. 2/5
Solid album. Not something I want to listen to again perhaps because not really my style but then again I’m glad I listened to it once!
They had a pretty good sound and I was happy hearing piano. Kind of mid though with lyrics
I've never had an album give me literal anxiety before. Like what the hell did I just listen to. That being said, this album is either a 1 or a 5, and there is no in-between.
Screw this, I'm giving it a 4. Does it sound like children messing around with random sounds and bashing on drums? Yes, yes, it does.
Jazz is awesome.
Yeah no this album sucked. Like how did it even get here.
This album was really repetitive but there is no doubt that Jimi Hendrix is amazing at guitar
It's similar to Radiohead but slightly worse. Radiohead is great so this will get a 3.
Kinda mid, sounded like an average rock band. Not too bad.
Fats Domino is very good band. Yes, very good. Much fun.
I have to admit today, I didn't make it past the second song. This guy cannot sing.
The instrumentation was nice, but the voice was cringeworthy.
Not horrible. Not amazing. Solid album.
A 3 for 3+3
First of all, this album is absolutely amazing. Second, I'd like to take a second to appreciate the creative and unique sound of ELO. I mean they are so recognizable anywhere because they have created a sound that no other artist has replicated. Well done on this one.
I can see how this album could be nostalgic for some but it's my first time listening to it and I just don't really see myself listening to it a lot. The singer has a nice voice though.
This is the only kind of rap that I actually like. Solid album
This album carries so much nostalgia for me that I cannot give it any less than a five. Foo fighters has been a family favorite since I was born.
Yes! I love this album's vibe. Too good to give it a 3 so I'll give it a 4, but just barely.
I wish I could rate this one higher because it is better than most of my 3s but I think it just fits here. Some of the songs are really good but some just aren't.
Another average one - not too shabby
YAYY we got a queen album amazing very good yes.
This guy's voice kind of got on my nerves haha. Not my kind of vibe.
I've only heard of The Prodigy through their collaboration with Tom Morello. This is not my usual vibe but I honestly dig it.
Had a really futuristic vibe to it. Pretty impressive stuff but really not for me.
Better than Blackstar? Honestly. I don't get the hype around Bowie.
No, I really don't see what is good about this album LOL
I really like Morrisey's voice. I know it isn't for everyone! Cool album, fun listen.
OKAY go off girl this was actually really good.
Dolly is a queen. A gem. I love it. Just listening to her wonderful voice is enough for this album to deserve 5 stars, but her messages are really sweet and powerful.
Really good album. I have never heard it before. I love the elements of jazz.
Okay I actually really liked this. She's no Lauryn Hill and I don't know how she earned a spot in this book but I really liked her vibe.
I did not expect to like this album as much as I did. There are so many hits. I love Champagne Supernova and Don't Look Back in Anger. Yeah Wonderwall is overplayed but this album is great.
No I don't like it. Not one bit. Instrumentation was basic and the vocals were actually horrible.
I love me some good old-fashioned rock and roll. Nice guitar soloing!
Awesome album!
Favorite Track: Highway Star
Not bad per se, just not my thing!
The sheer length of this album just threw me off. It wasn't a bad album but I don't think it belongs here? Anyway the band had a nice sound.
Felt kind of immature to me, I don't really know why it struck me that way but I just didn't love the vibe.
The organ was really cool. They kinda reminded me of The Doors but a little heavier.
Very chill and groovy. Not something I would purposely put on, but I can see how some would really appreciate this.
Man I wanted this album to be higher but it really wasn't for me. Some much better rap albums are out there.
Sounds like your average 60's band.
I like The Killers, and there are some KILLER songs on the album :)
Has a lot of great songs like Everybody Hurts and Man on the Moon, but not enough to carry the album to a 5.
Eric Clapton is just really good at guitar and that is all I have to say.
Yes I like the country infused rock vibe it was very awesome.
Sounded good but very average. This clearly is not what made The Rolling Stones big.
A little funky for my taste but a great album!
I liked this sound and even though I couldn't understand it I was definitely vibing.
This does NOT deserve to be on this list! Like at all!
Didn't feel like good music to me but it wasn't bad.
Good techno beats. Not something I would ever listen to but its still pretty cool.
Mini mini money mics money mini
Jokes aside, this wasn't bad.
Laid-back and chill stuff that I was kinda jamming to ngl.
I'm not sure where the appeal is with this album. That being said, it is rock, so I don't dislike it necessarily.
U2 is a really great band! I have heard some of these songs before and I just love the genre.
I was actually SO surprised by this album. I loved it!! I'm going to go listen to more of their songs now!
I am surprised I haven't heard of this guy. Interesting psychedelic album.
I like this style a lot. It is mostly love songs which is not always my thing but I'll give it a good rating.
Had to admit I was jamming a little but not my thing really
Wow did not expect to like this album so much! Love the jazz elements and what a voice!
Solid rock album. Some top hits on here.
I love Stevie. His voice is just so smooth like butter and the instrumentation is so immaculate.
I liked the upbeat vibe, I kinda needed it today. Not a bad album.
Seems like a really talented guy. The band was pretty tight! But not something I would add to a playlist.
The only redeeming quality is the fact that it is in the rock/indie genre.
I love Radiohead. Period. This isn't their best album but honestly I was pretty surprised at how good some of these were. This should be the soundtrack to the 1984 movie honestly. 2+2=5? That would be super cool. I loved the piano in We Suck Young Blood. Amazing album, 4 stars.
Not my style but she’s pretty talented.
I wish it wasn’t so whispery but I really liked all the songs. Favs were Alameda, Ballad of Big Nothing, and No Name No. 5.
LOVE this album so much. Not a new one for me, I've loved it forever and could listen to it on repeat all day long.
I love this genre a lot! But this album didn't really have anything special.
Fun album. Great guitar playing! Some unexpected favorites were Hot for Teacher and House of Pain.
Obviously Bridge Over Troubled Water is a well made song and incredible song. The rest of the album was meh
More Van Halen! Just had 1984 a couple days ago. This one is going to get 4 stars as well. Great stuff!
Weird southern gothic vibe. IDK not my thing really.
NOPE. The world may be sound but I don't want to hear your sound ever again.
I really don't know why this record is here. Oh well.
Wow. This was so unexpectedly powerful and incredible. Only giving it a 4 because I think it isn't something I will put back on. However it was such a deep and amazing album, so poetic. Favorite track was Leaving the Table.
The Doors are great! Love this music.
This really felt like what a perfect album should be. I thought it was pretty incredible. Like really incredible! I shouldn't give it a 5, but I really want to. So I will!
Cool album, I had heard of Rush but never really explored their discography.
Just felt like an average metal album. Not a lot of diversity in the tracks.
Wow I was not expecting this to be instrumental. Lucky for you, 1001 albums, I actually really appreciate instrumental tracks. 4/5
Meh. Sounds like elevator music or something. Not bad, just not good.
Nice message but not my style
A good album. I just didn't really like the guy's voice that much.
I think there's potential here and some great moments, but just the overall feel of this album I didn't really vibe with to be honest.
This was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the instrumentation and the vocals. Plus, rock is my favorite genre. Solid 4/5 stars.
Incredible. I wish I could play jazz like these guys. They didn't miss a beat with this album.
It worked pretty well as background music but I don't see much potential otherwise.
Interesting, but no. There's just too much going on and I really don't like it.
