Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Sep 21 2023

Little Umbrellas was kind of cool, but not for me

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Sep 22 2023

Every rolling stones album seems to be a couple of the greatest songs ever written, and a handful of basic blues tracks that would be done better by your local bar band.

Be by Common

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Sep 28 2023

Killer, I think their best early work. Going from Since I've been Loving You, with an incredible vocal performance from Plant, to the groove and riff of Out On The Tiles. Hat's off to Roy Harper is the weak point on the album, would be better not as the final track.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Oct 03 2023

"Around the World" kicks off the album hard. Great opener. I would love to see a remix/remaster of this album, because it's peak "loudness wars" - just very little dynamic range, even though there's opportunities for it in the songwriting. Just a killer album though, everyone on top of their game. Chad Smith can hold down a groove.

I'm Your Man by Leonard Cohen
Oct 04 2023

Better than expected but I'm still not a Leonard Cohen fan. First we take manhattan is good, others felt forgettable to me.

Luckie - song is kind of all over the place. Great vocals, but a lot of changes All the songs are similar - almost like a free-form approach to time and changes. Hard to hook onto a melody, it changes so quickly. Feels like listening to stream of consciousness songwriting. Really not digging it.

Still a great album. Great performances, and even though I did get sick of the songs when it was new, they still hold up after not listening for a while.

The Scream by Siouxsie And The Banshees

Hejira by Joni Mitchell

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Nov 02 2023
Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds
Nov 03 2023

Still impressed that they managed to make a whole career with a single guitar sound. Really got a lot of mileage out of a 12 string rickenbacker. Some great tracks, some forgettable ones.

School's Out by Alice Cooper
Nov 10 2023

Actually much better than anticipated. Wasn't expecting the West Side Story quotations.

Harvest by Neil Young
Nov 14 2023
The Nightfly by Donald Fagen
Nov 17 2023

Basically a bonus Steely Dan album

The Sensual World by Kate Bush
Jan 04 2024

This was great. David Gilmore screams on a couple of tracks, neat mix of 80s sounds with traditional Irish instruments, loved it. Will listen to again for sure

Step In The Arena by Gang Starr
Jan 05 2024

Classic East coast hip hop. Some good grooves, some good lines, very mellow.

So by Peter Gabriel
Jan 22 2024

Perfect album, really.

Imagine by John Lennon
Jan 23 2024

Better than I remember, TBH. GimmeSomeTruth is a personal highlight.

Station To Station by David Bowie
Jan 24 2024

Solid bowie. Should listen to this more, some good tunes.
