1001 Albums Summary

I can see why this is one of the foundational jazz albums, as someone wanting to get into jazz but not knowing where to start this was great! A really easy listen and could really pick out each individual instrument and hone in on the playing

forgot how many incredible tracks were on this record, the sounds is unmistakeable however it is a bit samey

this is an absolute treat. I was initially concerned at the run time but it is so worth it, it's such a rewarding listen when you get to 'Diminuendo in Blue' and you hear the crowd shift into excitement, then frenzy. The remainder of the record after the sax interlude is pure gold, with the audience willing the band on, and muffling out the organisers calls for the end of the performance. So happy to have been able to listen to this

it's fine, has a fun sound and a few great tracks but i found myself wanting a bit of variation, Good Golly Miss Molly helped to break the album up a bit. definitely groovy but not really for me

I just don't really get it, can see how some tracks are considered anthemic but I just found myself underwhelmed

it was fine, a few great covers but overall not massively enjoyable, I expect there will be better Rolling Stones albums further in this project

It was a fun listen, have always enjoyed Muse but stacked up against other similar artists during that period it isn't as consistent

Decent rock album, seems to be a theme with the 90s/00s rock I keep getting, just nothing massively interesting

Couldn't get on with this, found the vocals a bit annoying

amazing production and scratching let down by an inconsistent flow, the skits seemed to last a bit too long too

it was alright, never expected my favourite part of any album to be an Eminem verse

This was an easy 5/5, one of the greatest hip-hop records of all time

What an incredible rock album. I was expecting just standard dad rock but I was so wrong! John Bonham is incredible.

I hadn't listened to this all the way through before, love The Suburbs and found Ready To Start alright but never made it much further each time I tried to listen to it. This time I did listen all the way through and there are some great songs on here - Rococo, Empty Room, Wasted Hours. Just dragged on a bit for me

What a luscious indie folk album, Fleet Foxes create some gorgeous music

Such a groovy album!! Immediately recognized "That Lady" as the sample for "I" by Kendrick Lamar

All songs basically the same, but all songs sound great so can't complain!

I just love jazz!!

Definitely feels like an album where Gorillaz are trying to find their sound, lots more rockier tracks, a few bangers but overall felt like a bit like Damon trying to shake off the Blur sound

clearly iconic, lots of bangers, but VERY 80s, so not massively my cup of tea
