Popular Reviews

Yeah this shit slaps. I didn’t actually realise it was a soundtrack until after I finished but it totally makes now. Really well done and very enjoyable. It was properly intense at the end.

where the streets have no name is an incredible way to start the album and really leans into that moody 80s post punk which is a genre i really love. I still haven't found what ive been looking for and with or without you continued the trend of awesome fucking songs. the rest of the album couldnt really compare to the first three tracks but honestly thats fine: it was all enjoyable

Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective

I’m the flowers was a really strong way to start the album and I loved the spacey electronic sound it was going for. I really loved summertime clothes and the album finished well with brother sport. Overall very epic

I didn’t want to rate this a 5 going into it because I don’t think this is the best album we’ve had and, if I rated it a 5, it would surely steal that spot. However, I’ve been swayed. This thing is awesome. Combining the fast beat and rap vocals with really dramatic backing vocals and other instruments worked really well. Runaway is a classic as well obviously

Queen II by Queen
Mar 22 2024

Wacky queen opening very similar to the national anthem at the end of night at the opera. Father to son was a fucking banger and acted well as the first song of the album. It had me very excited for the rest. I then also really like the accustic guitar on some day one day before being hit round the face with the super loud drums and bass on the loser in the end. The fairy feller’s master stroke was super wacky and the way it transitioned into nevermore was awesome. Overall very yummy and pure queen wackiness. Well done Freddy Jupiter 8.5/10

25 by Adele
Mar 25 2024

Did not really want to listen to this. Hello had a strong chorus but felt a bit uninspired apart from that. It was definitely heavily carried by her voice. Miss you was pretty catchy as well. The whole album was a bit of a bore but I did appreciate that million years ago felt slightly different with the focus just on the acoustic guitar and her voice. It felt refreshing and especially with all I ask afterwards which felt like a song written by a human not an ai. it definitely picked itself up a bit for the last three songs but not by much. Overall quite boring, uninspired and unambitious but was carried by her strong voice and a few good tracks.

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Mar 26 2024

Bathtub was a weird way to start an album but then launched right into it with G funk intro which started the album off really strongly. Gin and juice was then SUPER catchy and ran into the shiznit in a wacky manner. The album then just kept coming and every track was equally interesting and enjoyable with stuff like murder was the case and Lodi Dodi. It seemed that a lot of fun was had making this album and it definitely shows. Awesome listen

Marquee Moon by Television
Mar 27 2024

First track is good if a little generic but the second picked it up and was quite jaunty. Then friction was really great with its funky guitar riff before leading into the epic title track. Very awesome. However elevation felt super janky and repetitive 👎. It ended pretty well though.

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Mar 28 2024

I love this album and have done for a while. It’s the smiths at their best creating the most melancholy atmosphere with such awesome songs. I do not like some girls are bigger than others though. That’s the only one

Woodface by Crowded House
Mar 29 2024

Started really strongly with chocolate cake which was pretty wacky and pretty enjoyable and then continued like this with it’s only natural and fall at your feet. It didn’t sound like something from the early 90s honestly. I found all I ask was really quite relaxing without being laboriously repetitive which i appreciated. Overall this was good fun

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Apr 01 2024

The first couple tracks feel overly cluttered and the singing is just silly. Nude was better but not overly inspiring. I found myself enjoying all I need, faust arp and house of especially house of cards a bit more but they weren’t revolutionary. As most other people, jigsaw falling into place was the highlight for me. Ultimately, it did get better as the album went ok but it was too little too late honestly.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Apr 02 2024

The first couple of tracks were decently entertaining while not being super ambitious. I then really enjoyed crazy love- thought it was just quite sweet. Overall pretty Good

Heartattack And Vine by Tom Waits
Apr 03 2024

First track really hooked me: I loved both his voice and the baseline and I thought breaking up the album with an instrumental next really worked. I also really enjoyed the slow and relaxed pace of jersey girl. Same with on the nickel. They’re just really nice songs to listen to. Overall very nice. I also love his voice.

Fucking incredible. Classics like starman, moonage daydream, suffragette city and Ziggy stardust obviously all make this incredible but for me the cherry on the top is how its book ended. The opening of five years perfectly sets up the concept of the album with the impending doom of the end of the world, which is awesomely contrasted with the rock and roll of Ziggy and the themes of fame and ego. The closing of rock and roll suicide then ends the album perfectly with ziggy’s fall from grace. The track starts with just the guitar strumming and ends with the repeating “you’re wonderful” and the way it builds is just incredible and gives the album a lasting impression.

Apr 05 2024

I mean it’s a classic. What more is there to say. Every track is yummy. I’d have to say my favs are Lucy in the sky with diamonds, the first title track and getting better. A day in the life is a great song but I don’t personally feel the connection with it as much as others do. Idk if I’ll give it a four of a five. I’ll see how generous I’m feeling in the morning

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Apr 06 2024

This was pretty good but my main gripe with it was just how short the songs were. It didn’t really give me time to get into them and meant the whole album just kind of came and went. The one exception was ain’t no way which I found a little boring. 60s soul also doesn’t overly interest me to begin with but the songs were catchy and I could get behind a lot of them.

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Apr 07 2024

The title track is obviously just iconic. After that the tracks kind of just whirred by. I enjoyed touch too much but apart from that THIS SHIT WAS BORING. Either a 2 or a 3 I’ll see how generous I feel in the morning

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Apr 09 2024

Man when I saw this was 70 minutes long I kind of sighed but this was so awesome. I am just such a sucker for elo. The guff that sounds like violins is awesome and along with the backing vocals it just totally defines their sound. The album had classic elo tracks like turn to stone, sweet talking woman and obviously mr. Blue sky but the other tracks carried their own weight really nicely as well. The album was broken up very well also with shorter more instrumental tracks like believe me now. Overall super strong stuff

Liege And Lief by Fairport Convention
Apr 10 2024

Honestly quite enjoyed this. It didn’t try to be absolutely mind blowing and out of this world but that was fine. It was just generally quite relaxing with the songs being quite slow and long without being boring. I also appreciated the random studio recording bits at the end of the last track.

Something/Anything? by Todd Rundgren
Apr 12 2024

Iummmm I did end up listnentinf to the whole thing but I may have been a little bit asleep for some of it so can’t promise my rating will be perfect however I enjoyed what I got. The intro was funny and I enjoyed it and then all the tracks were well done in of themselves. I just don’t understand why it was double the length of a normal album

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
Apr 13 2024

I hadn’t listened to this one in a while and just the first track reminded me why I loved it. I just love the police: I think they make really catchy songs. The title track was also then quite fun and a break from the faster stuff. Overall I do love this album but I don’t think I can honestly give it higher than a three, even though I want to.

Car Wheels On A Gravel Road by Lucinda Williams
Apr 14 2024

This is so chill and I love it. The title track was slow and yummy and I loved it and 2 kool 2 be 4gotten was pleasing to the ear as well. It then ended well with still I long for your kiss and joy, which were both very different and enjoyable, before leading into Jackson. This is SWAGS before it was cool.

Apr 15 2024

Yeah this shit slaps. I didn’t actually realise it was a soundtrack until after I finished but it totally makes now. Really well done and very enjoyable. It was properly intense at the end.

Dummy by Portishead
Apr 16 2024

First few tracks were epic but then it could be sweet was fucking dog shit. After that I started to get into the weird moodiness of it even if it did feel a bit repetitive. Glory box was great obviously and ended the album well BUT HOLY SHIT THE FAKE RECORD CLICKS WERE SO FUCKING ANNOYING. Mixed bag overall.

Apr 17 2024

Not giving it a one bc the last track kind of reminded me of Matilda the musical at parts which gickelt my ummy bone.

Apr 19 2024

where the streets have no name is an incredible way to start the album and really leans into that moody 80s post punk which is a genre i really love. I still haven't found what ive been looking for and with or without you continued the trend of awesome fucking songs. the rest of the album couldnt really compare to the first three tracks but honestly thats fine: it was all enjoyable

Aja by Steely Dan
Apr 20 2024

Really love this thing. The first two tracks were the highlight for me but the rest of the album was also super enjoyable. I appreciated that the songs were longer than most of their other stuff and think it worked quite well. Also the production was very good. Felt like a very clean album

Apr 21 2024

The first track was fucking badass and I absolutely loved it. Does anybody really know what time it is was then super jolly. It felt very of its time but in such a wholesome way that you just had to love it. Free form guitar was cool but just sounded bad though. Ultimately this was an awesome awesome album but just a little too long for me.

Apr 23 2024

Just straight fire. Benny and the jets and goodbye yellow brick road are obviously classics but even the other tracks were awesome. Also the opening instrumental was delicious

Apr 25 2024

I actually loved this one. Short but sweet. I think I preferred this a lot to something like lady soul bc it was live and you could really feel the energy and the songs were also just great.

Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Apr 26 2024

Long and boring and felt very pretentious

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Apr 27 2024

Yeah this was quite good. Early hip hop album I guess and it all works quite well

Scott 2 by Scott Walker
Apr 28 2024

I love this guys voice so much. It’s just delicious to listen to. The music is also pretty good, especially next but honestly it wasn’t revolutionary. It sounds like it comes from a decade before the 60s really but it does work in the albjm’s favour

Moon Safari by Air
Apr 29 2024

Delightful. This was such a pleasure. The long ass instrumental opening was awesome then followed by the BANGER that was sexy boy had me hooked. I loved the weird 90s electronic sound this had. Brilliant

Who's Next by The Who
Apr 30 2024

Awesome listen. Had some proper classic tracks on it and I especially enjoyed it finishing with wont get fooled again. Baba O’Reilly was defo my fave. Such an iconic opening

Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos
May 01 2024

This was a mixed bag. The first two and last two tracks were fucking awesome. Crucify and girl began the album great but then it was a bit boring going through it. Me and a gun was very interesting then the title track was a great way to end it. I can see what people mean when they say she’s a wanna be Kate bush but I love it honestly.

McCartney by Paul McCartney
May 03 2024

Just didn’t hit. Started playing it then 35 minutes went by and it was over 🤷‍♂️

Van Halen by Van Halen
May 04 2024

Very epic album. Enjoyed the kinks cover

Nothing's Shocking by Jane's Addiction
May 06 2024

I enjoyed up the beach as the opening track and it lead really well into ocean’s size. It was then a bit 😴😴 but summertime rolls and Jane says worked well to break it up. Overall this was good shit.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
May 08 2024

I enjoy rap. I like metal. I don’t like rap metal. This felt more like a toddler having a tantrum than anything else and artful lyrics such as “fuck you I wont do what you tell me” and “no more lies ugh” really sold that image to me.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
May 09 2024

good. I like mick jaggers voice and under my thumb.

Dust by Screaming Trees
May 10 2024

Good

Live And Dangerous by Thin Lizzy
May 11 2024

Enjoyed very much. Just a good time. Best tracks were southbound and the boys are back in town

May 12 2024

I love heavy metal and loud vocals at the best of times but this album is just so uninteresting and seems to rely on being loud and intense instead of actually being music that’s good to listen to.

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
May 13 2024

I’ve been meaning to listen to this one for a while and I did quite enjoy it. Didn’t TOTALLY vibe with it but I enjoyed I don’t want to go to Chelsea and pump it up

I Against I by Bad Brains
May 15 2024

Yum. This slaps

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
May 20 2024

I mean it’s incredible. It merges a kind of African sound with the new wave of the early 80s and with eno’s electronic sound and it comes together so well and sounds so fucking cool. Houses in motion, once in a lifetime, listening wind and born under punches are all highlights for me

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
May 21 2024

So chill after a day with so many thoughts

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
May 22 2024

Straight fire. So chill and so hype at the same time somehow. Highlights would be money for nothing, why worry, so far away and the title track

Dr. Octagonecologyst by Dr. Octagon
May 24 2024

This was a lot of fun and also fucking great music. Literally loved it

Green by R.E.M.
May 27 2024

This was really good. A good number of strong songs and I really enjoyed Micheal stripe’s voice

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
May 28 2024

Yup this was some music. The guitar was pretty nice

Meat Puppets II by Meat Puppets
May 30 2024

This wasn’t super enjoyable. The songs felt quite disorganised and I didn’t really like the lead singers voice. I did enjoy Plateau and what to do though

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Jun 03 2024

Incredible. Each song is written with so much charm and they’re all just delightful to listen to. Even ones I don’t remember liking as much like song for Bob Dylan and fill your heart I found myself enjoying. Life on mars? Is a classic and the way he hits the note at the end of the chorus is unbelievable and I love it every time. It also ends with a super underrated track the bewlay brothers which is really quite creepy with the voices at the end.

Giant Steps by The Boo Radleys
Jun 05 2024

This was awesome. A very enjoyable album

Phrenology by The Roots
Jun 06 2024

This was good. I really enjoyed break you off and complexity. The second half was definitely stronger than the first for me

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Jun 10 2024

I do love the doors and while this isn’t their finest I still really enjoyed it. Waiting for the sun was my fav

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Jun 11 2024

This was super enjoyable and I really wasn’t expecting to like this at all. Either a four or a five I’m not sure I’ll decided tomorrow

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Jun 13 2024

LOVED this. I’d been meaning to listen to some kraftwerk for a while now and they did not disappoint. The model was a highlight

A Walk Across The Rooftops by The Blue Nile
Jun 14 2024

Really enjoyed this one. Tinseltown in the rain and heatwave were great but Easter parade was a little boring.

Hotel California by Eagles
Jun 17 2024

Title track is a classic but I honestly found it all quite boring. Nothing caught my ear

21 by Adele
Jun 20 2024

You can’t set fire to the rain. It’s made of water

Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective
Jun 21 2024

I’m the flowers was a really strong way to start the album and I loved the spacey electronic sound it was going for. I really loved summertime clothes and the album finished well with brother sport. Overall very epic

Rio by Duran Duran
Jun 24 2024

Peak 80s pop

Be by Common
Jun 25 2024

This was really great. I thought the guy had a great voice and the last track was very wholesome imo

Superfuzz Bigmuff by Mudhoney
Jun 26 2024

Kind of ass. Just boring short songs with nothing to them

Like A Prayer by Madonna
Jun 27 2024

Was not expecting to enjoy this so much. it’s 80s pop at its finest- catchy songs with an appearance from prince. Delightful

Brown Sugar by D'Angelo
Jun 28 2024

Really did not enjoy this one. The music felt so purposeless and each song just seemed to repeat the same idea monotonously throughout. Not for me

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Jul 01 2024

This album is incredibly impressive and a pleasure to listen to

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Jul 02 2024

This was fun. I domt normslly like led zep but i preffered this to led zep 4 and also communicagion breakdown is my favourote song by them. Overall wuite good

Jul 04 2024

I didn’t want to rate this a 5 going into it because I don’t think this is the best album we’ve had and, if I rated it a 5, it would surely steal that spot. However, I’ve been swayed. This thing is awesome. Combining the fast beat and rap vocals with really dramatic backing vocals and other instruments worked really well. Runaway is a classic as well obviously

Jul 09 2024

I do prefer little dark age but this does absolutely slap.

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Jul 11 2024

This was such a pleasure. Great songwriting and while I found the harmonica droney at first it grew on me and I really enjoyed it. Ending with desolation row was great and despite its length it didn’t have me bored at all

Viva Hate by Morrissey
Jul 12 2024

This was ok. I don’t really like morrisey but tried to not let that get in the way of me enjoying the album. Despite this it felt quite boring and uninspired. I did like every day is like sunday though

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Jul 15 2024

Good 00s rock. Mr bright side is a classic and for good reason and I also enjoyed somebody told me. Either a 3 or a 4. I’ll see how generous I’m feeling on monday.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jul 16 2024

This was good but a bit long. I enjoyed give it away and under the bridge

The Clash by The Clash
Jul 22 2024

This was really enjoyable. I love the clash and I love joe strummer’ voice. While it wasn’t as creative or ambitious as London calling or combat rock, it was still a very well done punk album.

Kid A by Radiohead
Jul 26 2024

I really love this album. opening with everything in its right place is great and slightly eerie then the album has a lot of good songs to follow. Despite this some of the more ambient stuff does feel like time wasted in the album. Not quite a 5 for me.

Jul 29 2024

Yeah this was very good. Considering it was released in ‘88 I presume it was pretty influential and rightfully so. Got some great tracks, 12 of which don’t contain a homophobic slur

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Jul 31 2024

Not a fan of the cure generally and while this album didn’t change my mind I didn’t hate it. Was more chill than other albums by the cure I’ve listened to

Parallel Lines by Blondie
Aug 05 2024

Delightful. I just love Blondie and I love this album. Every track brings something slightly different, the instrumentation is always interesting and her vocals are so expressive and it all just comes together to form a brilliant record

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Aug 06 2024

This was good. Weird album cover though

The Real Thing by Faith No More
Aug 07 2024

This was VERY COOL. Enjoyed it a lot. The first half was a bit hit and miss but the instrumental slapped and I really enjoyed underwater love and war pigs.

Make Yourself by Incubus
Aug 08 2024

This was alright. Didn’t grasp me

Kollaps by Einstürzende Neubauten
Aug 09 2024

This is for sure going to be the hardest one for me to rate. While the music itself is horrible, it does get to me somehow - more so than a lot of other albums I’ve rated low on this website. It’s certainly 56 minutes that makes you question what we mean when we say music is ‘good’.

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Aug 12 2024

This got so boring so quickly. Each song felt near indistinguishable from the last and the rambling guitar playing did not enamour me. Either a 2 or a 3 I’ll see how im feeling when it comes to rating

Bluesbreakers by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
Aug 15 2024

This was fine but no one track particularly grabbed me. It happened then it was over

Countdown To Ecstasy by Steely Dan
Aug 16 2024

Lovely little album. Bodhisattva and show biz kids are my favs

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Aug 19 2024

Solid.

The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy
Aug 20 2024

I feel like I’m in a ‘90s dance club. while that’s probably the vibe it’s going for, currently I am not in a dance club nor is it the last decade of the 20th century.

Mott by Mott The Hoople
Aug 21 2024

I really enjoyed this one. Loved all the way from memphis

Revolver by Beatles
Aug 22 2024

Not a controversial opinion to say that this is a very strong album. For me it’s not quite a 5 but when this album is good it’s great. Fav track is for no one

Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Aug 26 2024

I was so glad when this was over. The most annoying cluttered music we’ve had on this website. None of it really had any value for me

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Aug 27 2024

Excellent metal album. Having coincidentally listened to ride the lighting very recently I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to decide which is my favourite but I don’t think I have to. They’re both monster records and both deserving of 5 whole stars. My favourite tracks are battery, title track, disposable heroes and lepper messiah. I have just listed half the album but I suppose that just shows how good they are.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Aug 29 2024

This was actually very good. I enjoyed the instrumentation and the songwriting was interesting and varied. I didn’t like how edgy the lyrics were and how the audio quality seemed to dip on some of the vocals. HOLY SHIT IT’S THE RICK AND MORTY SONG

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Sep 02 2024

This album was genuinely just a lot of fun. A lot of bangers on it

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Sep 03 2024

Too edgy. Music was alright I guess but not very enjoyable

Bert Jansch by Bert Jansch
Sep 04 2024

This was very nice

1989 by Taylor Swift
Sep 05 2024

I was honestly quite interested to listen to this one. She’s the biggest pop star in the world and I’d never sat down and listened to a full album of hers before. I was really disappointed. It just sounded like such lazy songwriting. The unimpressive synths and computer drumbeats were so boring. Very safe music which didn’t do anything for me

The Next Day by David Bowie
Sep 09 2024

I really love this album. (Shocker). Coming after a 10 year hiatus I think this album knocks it out of the park. Despite not taking a leap into particularly unfamiliar genres, which Bowie is known for, this album is just a demonstration of great songwriting and performing. The instrumentation feels just as important and as interesting as the vocals and I don’t think this had been the case for Bowie since low/ heroes imo. However, it kind of feels less like an album and more like a collection of songs. No one track shines, more there are many 8/10 tracks that are all great by themselves not cohesive when put together. Also heat is boring and pretentious. Sounds like a strange leftover from heathen

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Sep 10 2024

Pleasant

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Sep 17 2024

A collection of great pop songs. I love shout and everybody wants to rule the world and the transition from broken into head over heals was great

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Sep 18 2024

What was this about then. Every song just slapped? How did mr Springsteen do this

You're Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr.
Sep 20 2024

I’m being generous by giving this a 2. Honestly just got worse as it went it started with the most boring typical alt rock songs and by the end it was just the most horrendous guitar sounds. Even the cure cover was ugly as hell.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Sep 30 2024

It was great when I first listened and it was great when I listened again. Great songwriting but personally nothing I connect with enough to warrant a 5

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Oct 01 2024

Very enjoyable listen. Sultans of swing is a classic obviously but I also really enjoyed water of love and southbound again.

Smile by Brian Wilson
Oct 03 2024

Very nice. Very pleasant

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Oct 07 2024

If someone told me this was actually really groundbreaking and clever then I’m sure they’d be right but man it was boring to listen to

Oct 08 2024

Kinda boring honestly. Not much differentiated one song from the next. The little classroom sections were interesting and felt organic but it was still 77 minutes long with not much happening

Tommy by The Who
Oct 09 2024

Kinda boring honestly. Not much differentiated one song from the next. The little classroom sections were interesting and felt organic but it was still 77 minutes long with not much happening

Heroes by David Bowie
Oct 10 2024

Not sure this is quite a 5 for me. Title track is phenomenal Ofc and some other tracks stand out to me like the secret life of Arabia (which is great at the end of the instrumentals) and sons of the silent age but apart from that it just doesn’t quite do it for me. 9/10

Dookie by Green Day
Oct 15 2024

Be quiet

The White Album by Beatles
Oct 22 2024

stellar track after stellar track. For me the highlights are back in the USSR, while my guitar gently weeps and I’m so tired but almost all of these songs are just excellent. Makes me glad to have done the Beatles’ discography

Achtung Baby by U2
Oct 24 2024

I started out enjoying it but then it got old pretty quick. Generally quite good though. Loved zoo station

Doolittle by Pixies
Oct 28 2024

Absolutely Peak alt rock. Wasn’t expecting to give this a 5 but on a relisten there’s just banger after banger.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Oct 29 2024

Absolutely brilliant. Every song is SUCH A TUNE and seemingly effortlessly as well. Peak glam rock and I can’t say a bad word about it
