Black Sabbath
Black SabbathNot really my thing, but I get it. RIP Ozzy
Not really my thing, but I get it. RIP Ozzy
The first track, "Whole Lotta Love," is obviously a radio classic I've heard a number of times. The guitar melody is thrilling, the vocals are great, but the drum break about a third of the way through the song is what really sets this song apart and a great example of what's makes Zeppelin who they are Another great guitar riff in Lemon Song, accompanied by a bass strumming just underneath that keeps the melody flowing while cymbals clash Ramble On represents another radio classic and example of what makes Zeppelin great, with it's rhythmic percussion and easy vocals Finishing with the instrumental Moby Dick followed by the bluesy harmonica of Bring it Home, II ends on a high note that makes me want to listen to more Zeppelin
This one absolutely did not work for me, which kind of shocks me because I consider Born to Run, just a few years earlier, to be an all-timer
Obviously Pump It Up is the major hot from this album, but the whole thing is full of bangers. Not necessarily something I'll revisit, but I wouldn't be mad if this came on. Great party music
For one reason or another, hip-hop has never been my genre, and for some very specific reasons Kanye feels hard to get into in 2025. Still, listening to MBDTF it's clear what everybody sees in him & his music
Much more into this, with regards to hiphop
Obviously the famous "Hallelujah" cover, but from the first notes of Mojo Pin this is entirely my type of thing
Good stuff
The type of old country/folk that really resonates with me. I wish I could do half stars
I like Britpop more in theory than reality
The Beatles are a band I'm excited to get into during this exercise, since I really haven't before now. Good album, but not sure it's going to convert me
Queen isn't really my thing, but why is Bohemian Rhapsody and Killer Queen the only songs you ever hear? They have more bangers
I get why Manson has that reputation now
Not really my thing, but I get it. RIP Ozzy
More classics on this like War Pigs and Iron Man. Planet Caravan was a cool break from the intensity, too
Has the more classic Golden Years song, but I feel like there's a reason this isn't a more well-known Bowie
Cool stuff, but the heavy synth work like this is just a total turn off for me. Barely made it through, glad I did, will not be looking further into it
Pretty good, super jazzy, love her voice. Not something I'm probably going to revisit
Great album, super easy to listen to and still super deep if you can pay attention. A classic for a reason
Good stories, just not at all something I want to listen to a whole album of
Nah. Not for me
Easy listening 70s bangers. Sultans of Swing still rocks in 2025, and In the Gallery is just OK, but overall a great album
Not crazy about this ine
While it never quite reaches the heights of the first four tracks, all in this is an excellent piece of 90s electronic
Good stuff, classic Little Richard
Had to tap out halfway through, not my thing at all
I don't like the bee gees, I don't think I'm going to
I liked Sky Holds the Sun, and overall this is pleasent enough that I won't turn it off, but ultimately it didn't do a lot for me
Actually really enjoyed this one. Listened to the 2022 remaster on Spotify, and thought the demo versions we're a little stronger, but that's more a personal taste thing than anything
Love me some jazz. Especially jazz with vocals, Ingoo Pow-Pow is great ending to a great journey of an album
In Your Eyes is obviously great, and there are a few other surprising great songs on this album, but songs like This Is The Picture are a little weird for my taste and hold the album back
Not for me, man
Kids and Time to Pretend feel like the highlights, both were played incessantly on the radio when this album came out. While this is a fun album, it really feels firmly stuck in 07/08 and aside from nostalgia I don't see myself really revisiting
I vastly prefer Songs Of
Takes me back to youth group
Pretty heavy for a band called Pixies
Actually ended up going through this twice, I love the psychedelic, bluesy, new wave style this comes in
Some classic blues
Rose makes for a strong ending and I quite like the Ballad, but ultimately this piano heavy psychedelic 70s rock is very hit or miss for me, and this album is a miss
The type of overpowering noise you either get into in highschool or never get into at all. Bowed out at O-Men
I find the back half more enjoyable to listen to, but the album overall still feels like a revelation almost 40 years after it's debut
Gimme all your loving, Got me Under Pressure, and Sharp Dressed Man is just banger after banger. I Need You Tonight slows things down in a way I don't quite love but picks right back up, hitting another classic Legs and keeps on rocking through the end of the 34 minute album
Nice orchestrals, but didn't do much for me
The Beatles just don't do it for me
Pretty great easy listening, but it definitely feels like a freshman outing
Opens with the iconic Running Up That Hill, and I'll admit I was that this would be another case where the single was the best part of the album. Happy to be proved wrong! The rest of this is weird and open in a way I'm completely in the bag for, love it from start to finish
Lots of long, meandering soul music. Not my style, but I see why it's beloved
Easy to listen to, for whatever reason Sonic Youth has never really done it for me
