Not for me. Very Bruce Springsteeny.
Emo country. Lovely. Sad.
This whole album sounds the same and should be the soundtrack to 12 Nancy Meyers movies.
Robert Smith has a great voice. Very repetitive album. Drums
This is what I think about when I think about Jazz. "Dinner music" in the best possible way. Like if "Dinner" was cocktails in a smokey lounge.
Ziggy definitely played guitar. Guitar heavy classic for a reason. A pleasure to listen to.
Upbeat, catchy. Lots of hi-hats. Enjoyed!
Killer voice. Fun and Jazzy. Also amusing that they left in the flubs.... "I don't know the words to this song - doobie doobie doo."
Beeps and boops. Can’t help but think of Geico commercials
Lots of singles. Lame singles.
Classic summer of love hippie rock. Lute music done well.
Great album. Lots of fun. Is it me or are there a lot of signs that this band influenced the 90s/00s punk scene in Chicago?
Fun club music. “I would put this on while I work.”
Better than I was expecting. Exactly what I was expecting. Guitar driven, bluesy, not too bad.
Funky. Catchy. Put this on and bop around the house.
Smooth sounds of steely Dan.
Long in the middle. Not for me.
A fine album. Nothing too catchy.
Mediocre pop album. A few catchy songs; lots of schlock.
Actually quite good. Some hits. Some fun songs. is that a sitar?
Awesome. Enormous. Fun. Can’t help but dance.
If you like those 2 songs, you’ll like this album (because it all sounds like those 2 songs).
Pinnacle indie sleaze. No notes. So good.
He hasn’t hit his peak. A very angry album with some really weird creepy songs. It’s interesting to listen to given what he has become.
A lovely album. Fun bops. A few bangers.
Great album. Wide range. Lots of energy. No skips.
Reminds me of college. Lots of samples.
Lots of feelings and so obviously, an amazing vocal performance
3 great songs. Very Americana
Good beats. Put it on for dinner
A lot going on with this album. Solid post-hardcore.
Groovy Leonard cohen. Not my personal favorite Leonard cohen.
Honestly, a little boring. It's fine though.
Wonderful vibey album. Winter. Mornings. Coziness.
I liked it. It's fine. A slightly harder version of Shoegaze
I'm not a fan. I can't ever imagine a situation where I would put on a The Doors album, not even this one. They're not "unlistenable," I just don't care about any of these songs.
It's Bowie, so it has a high floor. But, this album didn't really keep my attention too much. It's good, but I don't think many of the songs will stick with me.
the guitar work on this album is noticeable and awesome. Music to be blasted loud in a trans-am. This is a long one. A couple of hits, and not many skips.
When hip hop was to dancing in the club. When emcees were MCs. Lots of tropes, but I’m going to assume many were started or popularized by her.
Great album. So many fantastic songs that they build and destroy. It's almost like they didn't want this played on the radio. Brings me right back to college. This album is a mood.
This seemed totally fine. I don't know why I need to listen to this before I die. This would be at home in any fancy hotel lobby bar.
I'm just not a U2 fan. Oddly, some of the songs on this album seem very influenced by Fleetwood Mac. This may just be because I've been listening to so much Fleetwood Mac lately. Lots of singles, as usual with these guys.
This was fun. Pub music. This album needs drinking to go with it. If you're looking for a soundtrack to your Irish Pub Night themed dinner party, well, you've found it.
This is a really good album. You can feel the David Bowie influence. A lot more tuba than I was expecting. But to be fair, I wasn't really expecting any tuba.
Acceptable. Not sure I NEEDED to listen to this before I die.
I enjoyed this quite a bit. Reminded me of Ryan Adams with more strings and horns. Long album, but a good listen.
Absolute masterpiece. The coolest vibes. Dad core. But like… why does he want to be called Deacon Blues?
Absolute masterpiece. The coolest vibes. Dad core. But like… why does he want to be called Deacon Blues?
Classic alternative. Had no idea they sang "All I Know." Not sure I needed to listen to this album before I died though.
Pretty up and down. Boring/fun. But hey, "Everywhere You Go, Always Take the Weather with You..."
This is perfectly fine. Hotel California itself is a great song, but the Gypsy Kings cover is better, so how high can I rate this? This is a great album to listen to when you don't need to pay too much attention to it. It's good.
Nostalgic and pretty fun. I guess I like it more now than I did then. I'm still not sure why it's so well regarded.
Vibey. Enjoyable. I think I like Back to Black a bit more, but a really impressive debut.
This is the kind of music robots should be making in 2026. I just assume Gary Numan was a robot who somehow transformed into a person. Synth pop. Get me to an dance club in 1981.
A love letter to vocal distortion. Catchy pop tunes. Its no wonder these dudes got huge for a bit.
"Everybody's talkin' at me...." Pretty good album! Fred Neil kinda rules. Definitely see his influence in Bill Callahan.
Some bands have "a sound" and some bands have songs that all sound the same. This album rides that line perfectly. Something I almost never say: "I wish this album were longer." Its great to sit and focus on, it's great in the background.
I love New Wave and this is good New Wave.
Solid Public Enemy. Exactly what you expect. Upbeat. Kept my attention.
Fine. Nothing really struck with me (besides Imagine, but I've heard that song so many times I just skipped it).
I thought this wouldn't be "my thing," but I think it might be "my thing."
A few covers. So 90s chill.
Not what I was expecting. He sounds like Thom Yorke. Like if Radiohead weren't experimental at all.
Solid grunge album. They definitely had their own sound. Super guitar/bass driven. A very solid album.
Will other Blur albums be on this list? This was a decent album, but there are other Blur albums I prefer. I don't think I recognized any songs on here. And maybe because I just listened to Dirt, but Pressure on Julian sounds like an Alice In Chains song...
Like being in a video game. Good ambient music to get some work done to.
Love this album. College. Doesn’t need the silly little skits.
Solid album. Lots of David S Pumpkins vibes.
I’m not that into Aerosmith, but this is better than most of their albums.
I have already forgotten this.
Cool discovery. I will be listening to this more. Proto-yacht rock? Pretty solid top to bottom.
Ultimate garage rock. Love so many of these songs.
Good album. Over before you know it.
You know, it's a really good album. I get why it got so freaking popular.
This is a fun album that sounds like the soundtrack to an awesome movie.
I guess it's a fun album to listen to, as long as nobody else is around. Definitely shifted hiphop to gangsta rap. Some of these lyrics are pretty rough to listen to. But, 1 extra star because Fuck The Police.
This one didn't really hold my attention.
Heavy metal archetype. Not really for me. Interesting and entertaining though. Gothic, over the top, they know their game. Can definitely see these guys as a huge influence for Angine de Poitrine.
It's fun rock and roll. Most of this album sounds like that one Guitar Hero song that I know (which is not necessarily a bad thing).
Quite enjoyed this one. Rock n roll?
She’s great. Her voice has depth. The songs feel genuine.
Wow. This whole album was way weirder than I was expecting. In the best way. Some songs sound like 4 genres in one. Also, those drums that kick off track one...
Emotional, sad, genuine. Some of these songs made me sad. I’m not super into how she sings, but some of the songs (River, California, Blue) will stick with me.
Solid. The singles are great. The rest... fine.
Old school country kinda rips. Sad. Outlaw. Orville Peck.
Very enjoyable. Fun to listen to this so soon after Coat of Many Colors by Dolly, as this has a cover. Would listen again.
Not my favorite Portishead. A little abrasive at times.
Throwback. I like his voice.
A wonderful album right at the intersection of folk and rock.
Yeah, this is cool. Lounge lizard country. Crooner country. A story. A tale.
Seems like pretty standard piano-forward jazz. I guess I was expecting something a little more interesting.
Pretty fun. I'm not super into the guy's voice. The cover of Comfortably Numb was very different and cool.
A love letter to the kick drum. Straight ahead rock and roll. put this on while you're shirtlessly washing your T-bird.
An album of ups (The Man Comes Around, Hurt) and downs (Like a Bridge over Troubled Waters, Danny Boy).
Banger after banger. This is great chilling music.
A little whiny, but a good album. If I really like Radiohead, I would probably love this album.
This album has style. That style is like a psychedelic greaser vampire. It’s weird. Weird and cool.
If you like the song Ace of Spades you will like the album Ace of Spades.
Its good singer songwriter piano stuff... can definitely see her influence on singers of the era (Jewel). Would throw this on again.
