Dec 15 2025

A product of its time. Its alright, a couple of songs which everyone will have heard and are pretty iconic but overplayed at this point. The rest all just sound like generic Arctic Monkeys songs.

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Dec 16 2025

Maybe you have to be from Illinois? Rubbish. Pretentious poetic drivel. Bad start, less worse middle, then back to that annoying guy who brings a guitar to a party.

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Dec 17 2025

It's okay. A bit too folky for me, no doubt inspired people like Mumford or Mountains/Men. All a bit samey.

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Dec 18 2025

Enjoyed it. Wife said it was a racket

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Dec 19 2025

Decent. Had never listened but glad I have. Probably won't go into usual rotation though

World Clique by Deee-Lite
Dec 21 2025

No strong feelings one way or the other. I have no nostalgia but can see how this would've been fairly important in 1990. Now, except for the Groove is in the Heart , why would I want to sit and listen to an album of generic dance music, some of which is too slow anyway ? Pretty unmemorable but wouldn't say I hated it.

Tapestry by Carole King
Dec 23 2025

Nice easy listening

Dust by Screaming Trees
Jan 02 2026
Document by R.E.M.
Jan 06 2026

4/5. I like this. Fades away a bit. Will add to vinyl collection potentially

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Jan 07 2026

Not exactly my vibe - psych/funk/soul with long instrumental breaks and very 60s melodies. I see why it might have been particularly important for it’s time given it’s social content, so historically I understand the inclusion of it but I didn’t find much that interested me musically or melodically.

One World by John Martyn
Jan 09 2026

Fine, not good, not bad, a bit boring.

OK Computer by Radiohead
Jan 10 2026

Appreciate the history, but I'm not good at hearing lyrics and only have the time to listen once. I appreciate how much this would have shaped music I do like. My wife asked me if it was Muse so I divorced her.

Imperial Bedroom by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Jan 11 2026

Boring & at times annoying. 2/5

Dog Man Star by Suede
Jan 15 2026

This can't be their best album ? , a mixed bag , 3.5/5

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jan 17 2026

Apart from the 2 songs that made it out of 1991 this album is trash

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Jan 20 2026

This album really annoys me. I feel like I should like it but it's such 'fake happiness.' I just get the sense that they're trying to be all elated and happy but they're actually miserable as sin. Additionally just irritates me with the stupid synth voice. We get it, you discovered a way to make yourself sound like a robot. STOP IT! . Reminds me of a kid who has found the DJ button on a keyboard.

Alien Lanes by Guided By Voices
Jan 21 2026

This was pretty rubbish. One of the 'songs' has someone snoring throughout it ? An assault on the ears at times

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Jan 22 2026

Apart from Somebody To Love, this is a bit too old for me to enjoy

Maxinquaye by Tricky
Jan 23 2026

Wasn't minding it until halfway through it just got gross for he sake of it it.

All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot
Jan 25 2026

Mar 17 2026

Not the best of the Beatles but a solid 4, it's the Beatles.

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Apr 18 2026

Fine

May 01 2026

Can see what sort of music it inspired, but this is weird new wave punk that's just too early to be any good.

Moondance by Van Morrison
May 02 2026

Proper old man music is what anyone younger than 30 would say

Paris 1919 by John Cale

Jun 10 2026

Except from riders on the storm, the doors are a bit too old to appreciate in modern times unfortunately.
