Popular Reviews

I usually love Frank Sinatra but yet again whoever compiles this list chooses the SLOWEST albums. Just because music is slow doesn't make it better than other music. Considering dipping out of this whole thing if I get one more slow, droll, album. I want to be awake by the end of the album and these are not it.

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Jan 07 2026

The songs were a bit too slow for me at first and then I really started enjoying when Intervention played. I also really like Black Wave/Bad Vibrations, The Well and the Lighthouse, No Cars Go and My Body is a Cage. Definitely a good first recommendation I'm excited to listen to more.

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Jan 08 2026

Way too slow for my liking. I can see why other people like it. All the songs fit the album well, just not my cup of tea. Album art is also beautiful.

Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams
Jan 09 2026

Too slow for me again. I do like when they start an album with a talking segment but that was really the only part I liked. Not for me.

Bossanova by Pixies
Jan 13 2026

This one is really random but I like Havalina

Strange Cargo III by William Orbit
Jan 14 2026

Songs are way too long for normal listening but are perfect for my Utopian Scholastic and my Mermaids playlists.

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Jan 15 2026

Another painfully slow album. It's ok once again not my thing.

John Prine by John Prine
Jan 19 2026

I'm not even finishing that is crazy twangy and not at all my thing

Jan 21 2026

Already loved this album I love Doo Wop and Everything is Everything. Great songs love this one.

Jan 22 2026

This would probably be more enjoyable in person honestly. I think if I had been introduced in that way I would like it more. Reminds me of the show the Young Ones. Not really my cup of tea to listen while driving or working out but would definitely go see it in concert or play it as a vinyl.

The Good, The Bad & The Queen by The Good, The Bad & The Queen
Jan 23 2026

History Song, Northern Whale, Behind the Sun and Nature Springs are all good on first listen. Almost sounds like the Gorillaz but also kind of like some other indie bands mixed in.

Elephant by The White Stripes
Jan 26 2026

I obviously loved Seven Nation Army already but surprised to see how many other songs I liked from them.

Talk Talk Talk by The Psychedelic Furs
Jan 27 2026

Not my thing again but would be cool for movie soundtracks or enjoyable live.

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Jan 28 2026

A good one to throw on in the background while reading I love this one. I would love to have this on vinyl.

Sulk by The Associates
Jan 29 2026

It's giving the music that would play in the liminal space that is an old 80s Kane's store.

Goodbye And Hello by Tim Buckley
Jan 30 2026

Not for me again. I really don't like the slow folky harmonica type music. There are other artists that make this type of music that I prefer. I wonder if people tend to consider slow music more artistic and elevated because humans have a tendency to think slow speech indicates confidence? I'm tired of it personally I like faster music.

Permission to Land by The Darkness
Feb 03 2026

Oof just as I was complaining about the music chosen being too slow they finally give me a faster album. I already loved I Believe in a Thing Called Love but my other new favorite is Friday Night. Though a lot of the album is a little samey and chaotic so not the best but definitely better than what I've been getting.

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Feb 04 2026

Dang ok this album rocks love nearly all the songs. Some of them are ungodly long but many of them are worth it.

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Feb 05 2026

I actually really like that this album is only 2 songs long and the first one is really cool. Another album I would love to see in a physical setting like an art exhibit or aquarium or something.

Feb 06 2026

Not super my thing again. Live would probably be cool but all the songs kind of sound the same to me. Just not really my style of music.

Medúlla by Björk
Feb 09 2026

I like Bjork as a person and public figure but her music is not really for me. Too many sounds going on it's a little overstimulating. I think it would be cool paired with an art exhibit or something but just to listen to in the car is not really my vibe.

Imagine by John Lennon
Feb 10 2026

Not for me not my thing.

Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu
Feb 11 2026

I can tell the music is done well just again way too slow for me

Toys In The Attic by Aerosmith
Feb 13 2026

Obviously Walk This Way and Sweet Emotion are classics but I find the rest of their music to be a little corny lol. Not bad but didn't add any new songs to my rotation.

Casanova by The Divine Comedy
Feb 16 2026

Again a little corny for me not my thing

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Feb 17 2026

20 minute songs?!? Y'all gotta be joking. They are good though I will give you that.

Faust IV by Faust
Feb 24 2026

More my husband's thing than mine

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Mar 03 2026

Obviously Closer is one of the best songs of all time but I also really liked Heresy and Ruiner sounds like something from Queen of the Damned so I really loved this one.

Play by Moby
Mar 04 2026

I could definitely see this being a soundtrack to a film. Really cool songs. I would definitely throw this on in the background on vinyl or something while I clean my house or do whatever. Very cool though not my usual for daily drive listening.

Mar 05 2026

I had never heard any of Courtney Love's songs before but I really liked this one. Never realized the movie Jennifer's Body was a reference to this album. Pretty cool.

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Mar 06 2026

I already loved Our House so no surprise I liked a few other songs as well. Definitely a vinyl I would like to own but only 1 less star because it's not music I would listen to all the time.

En-Tact by The Shamen
Mar 09 2026
The Rise & Fall by Madness
Mar 11 2026

House of Fun is one of my siblings' favorite songs. Yet another song called Our House that I like this week as well is pretty funny. Nostalgic for me but not my usual listen.

Back to Basics by Christina Aguilera
Mar 16 2026

I liked side B a lot more than A I love a lot of the ways she plays with vintage sounds in the latter half of the album. I'll definitely come back to this one but 3 stars just because I'm not super into the first half.

Street Life by The Crusaders
Mar 17 2026

Love this. Not something I would listen to in the car but would absolutely love to have this on vinyl to throw in the background of reading or a calm night in. Great for chill parties and the like too. Though I would make an exception for a late night drive this would be perfect for that. Perfect cool mood setting music.

Madman Across The Water by Elton John
Mar 18 2026

Obviously 5 stars just for Tiny Dancer but I also really loved Holiday Inn.

Triangle by The Beau Brummels
Mar 20 2026
Vento De Maio by Elis Regina
Mar 23 2026

A lot of the songs are a little too slow for me but I definitely like Sai Dessa. This album came out the day before I was born!

Time Out Of Mind by Bob Dylan
Mar 24 2026

I respect him for the music legend that he is, but this style of music is really not for me. So much of what is on here is this super slow folky type of music and I've said it before but it seems like a lot of people take music that is slower to be more artistic and contemplative in the same way many people perceive someone who takes their time to talk as more intelligent and confident. A bit of a flawed lens. The perception lacks depth and exceptions. Very much a lot of the same sounds and not the variety I would expect of such a large list of music.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Apr 27 2026
Dare! by The Human League
Apr 29 2026

Obviously all 4 stars are for Don't You Want Me but the rest of the songs are not really my thing.

Logical Progression by LTJ Bukem
Apr 30 2026

Basically filled my Frutiger Aero playlist up with this entire album

Dig Me Out by Sleater-Kinney
May 21 2026

The actual instrumental music is good but the vocals absolutely ruin it for me

Bummed by Happy Mondays
May 26 2026
D by White Denim
Jun 01 2026
3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Jun 04 2026
Ys by Joanna Newsom
Jun 05 2026

This one doesn't exist on Spotify so I'm just giving it a neutral rating of 3 since I can't even listen to it
