Some bangers on here, really like Woodstock, Our House Deja Vu. Epic guitar bits too! Made me feel kinda nostalgique even though I wasn't alive in 1970
Hadn't ever listened to this album all the way through!! Brilliant stuff- Fascination is a new find, and the album is very aptly named, I can feel the different observations of American culture in every song
Listened to this once while out on a walk, but I feel it's better suited to listening at home and really absorbing. I love the first two songs + the beats throughout, really makes me wanna wiggle me hips
I like the melodies in this. It's generally the sort of the music that my brain likes and it makes me feel nostaligic/relaxed. It feels quite glossy and superficial though when comparing it to the other albums Ive listened to so far. Almost like Moby is dipping in and out of various musical genres a lil bit and putting an electronic slant on them
Definitely some good tracks on here, Sunshine of Your Love is a classic! I discovered Strange Brew and Tales of Brave Ulysses which were bops! I guess the melodies don't suuuuper hit me on every song but I can appreciate the album as a whole
Didn't initally resonate with this -- probably not a running album! Upon second full listen… loved it all except the last two songs (bit slow). Very dance-able and vibey!! Completely understand the acclaim with this album, love the funkiness
A really cohesive and artistic album, enjoyed the composition of songs and it felt v intentional. I guess I didnt click with most of the melodies really, or maybe it didnt get into my brain in that addictive/nostalgic way! Seven Nation Army will alwayssss be an epic tune though. I also liked The Hardest Button to Button, the guitars in Ball and Biscuit and Hypnotize
Disappointingly forgettable. Interesting to know where the first song came from as I heard it a lot as a kid. Only needed one listen of this to know I wouldnt listen again
I thought I would really hate this, but listening to it while walking around the park made me feel alive + human. Enjoyed the album until the final 2-3 songs, maybe a touch same-y overall. But I like Sheryl's voice! Run Baby Run, Leaving g Las Vegas and Solidify were my faves
The composition of this album is incredible. She is sooo experimental and it really works for me here. Loved Violently Happy in particular as a standalone song. Incredible to listen to this album as a whole piece of art tbh, very very good
Think this needs a second listen cos I lost momentum halfway through. Love the first song!! okay so after a second listen... I appreciate this but I dont LOVE it right now. Comparing it to Turnstile's Never Enough + Bjork's Debut (two most recent listens) it has come up short. Maybe it's the punkiness?? would probs be better live
I liked this, enjoyable jazzy pop vibes. Just somewhat forgettable? Wont necessarily listen more than twice
Not really my sort of music at all. Kinda interesting from a historical perspective re hard rock etc, but I think the songs and vibe sounds the same throughout. Okay I take it back, there is some FANTASTIC guitar work here esp in Child of Time!!!
Obviously enjoyed many of these songs, great catchy melodies!! And interesting from a music history perspective ofc cos it's the Beatles. Butttt I would say as a whole the album didnt resonate with me emotionally to a huge degree. Songs fit together cohesively though and a second listen gave me more joy
I put off listening to this all the way through for a few days because I thought I would find it boring. Can confirm I did NOT find it boring!! A really peaceful and nostalgic album, I think granny would love it so Ill try to remember to play it for her. Don McLean can also really sing and the melodies are v boppable
Not my usual taste, but a really strong album overall. Some great songs and lots of powerful messaging.
Really like the song Atlantic City!! And a second listen of this album made me really appreciate Springsteen's vibe here
Some absolute bangers on here!! Took me a while to get into it but mannnnn I love Fleetwood Mac. Sisters of the Moon scratches my SOUL and has suchhhhh epic guitar work omg. Having listened twice I can confirm this is INFINITELY listenable always xoxo
Man I heard the first song and was like woahhhh I think Im gonna hate this cos all the songs will sound so folk-y. BUT BOY WAS I WRONG!!! I found out who wrote Thousands Are Sailing, an epic song from haslemere childhood. Fiesta is a bangerrrrrr!!! And just overall so many great tunes and a fabulously cohesive album that makes me proud of my Irish heritage woo
Omg this is where High and Dry is from!! BRILLIANT ALBUM. I totally see why people are obsessed with Radiohead now lol. And it's super interesting to read about the influence of R.E.M. on their sound... i love R.E.M. and can totally hear it. Im loving almost every song on here tbh and the whole vibe of the album -- love it as much as Turnstile's Never Enough maybeeeee. Gosh. What a (late) find!!
Hmmmm this isnt really my thing at all. I can appreciate the skill and creativity, but it lacks catchy hooks/melodies throughout and is a lil too weird musically for my brain. I didnt save a single song from this album so it's a very low rating for me
LONG ALBUM. Kinda procrastinated on listening to it, obvz Ella Fitz can sing but the songs are all "of an era" and very specific to a jazz/movie setting. Great voice and vibes but not really my ongoing sorta ting
Thought i would hate this after the first song, but it's actually pretty fun and creative. Not sure I'll listen again but there were some catchy tunes in there! There's also a cover of Lennon's Imagine which was unexpected haha. Overall not really my style of music and ive not got similar albums to compare it to but get a feeling that it's pretty good if youre into raï
Really enjoyed the first two songs and the whole ambience is very cool. Definitely understand the 'gothic rock' description haha! The Forest is a great tune
