1001 Albums Summary

I liked the sound and the energy, but I’m not sure I understood what most of the songs were supposed to mean.

Perfect. No notes.

The sampling and theme/lyrics take this album up a notch making it creative and powerful to listen to. The outro pulls it all together.

Very odd at times but some cool experimental sounds

The awful whiny lyrics made the songs sound worse. I enjoyed the last 2 minutes of Barbarism Begins at Home because of the funky bass and no words. I mean truly every time I started to enjoy the sound of the music the words came in and made me roll my eyes.

Fun rockabilly vibes. Lyrics are pretty wild

I wanted to like the idea of a rock opera, and I was with it the first two songs. But once we got into being molested a few times I was out. The circus cult ending only made it worse. I will not be able to listen to Pinball Wizard again now.

Sinister French rock… I’m not mad at it, just don’t look up the lyrics. I feel like I should be listening to this while participating in a heist.

It’s a 4.5! Started off kinda slow but this is how you make an album. Ending with All Apologies, *chef’s kiss*

Good for what it is- very high energy. Dude can play the trumpet for sure

Much more fun and funky than I expected. Cool mix between cultures. Looked up some of the lyrics and they seemed pretty good for a movie soundtrack

This would have been incredible to actually see live, but listening to a 2 hour and 15 minute live Metallica performance with an orchestra on my phone is a whole different story. I love Metallica and couldn’t make it. I just can’t do live albums

funky, smooth, a little slow at times

2.5- some of this was actually pretty enjoyable, the rest was a little too much… acappella is a choice

Hit after hit after hit but not 5 star material overall (except The Chain 12/10 song damn and the funky one right after- You Make Loving Fun)

Not a huge jazz guy, but you can tell this is good jazz. I enjoyed when the drums went crazy

Starts with a banger, ends with a banger, everything dark and depressing and in between. Riffs and lyrics go hard as hell. Love love love

Punk rock as hell. The first 30 seconds sets the tone for how fun this is to listen to. Anti-pope is a highlight. Just a little too British to get 5 stars from me

This has to be the most unique album I’ve listened to. Not only is the whole thing so different from anything I’ve heard, but also each song is so different from the last. I have to give the artistry and creativity here the respect it deserves. If I had to pick a favorite I think it would have to be 5/4

After the first song I thought I would hate this album. It ended up being so fun to listen to if not a little too long. Fuck capitalism. Fuck fascists. :)

Money is good, Time is good, but the rest I don’t really like! I feel uncultured for not understanding the cult worshipping of this one. Just felt like a lot of noise with some good stuff occasionally tucked in there to me. I really went into this ready to be blown away (maybe that was part of the problem).

I was not really feeling it at first, but after Supersonic, I started rockin with it. Slide Away was a highlight for sure.

Concept, sound, themes. Nothing like it!

Not bad, just really not for me.

I’m having a hard time rating this one. Maybe a 3.5 would be appropriate? I like the themes and the lyrics. I like Just and My Iron Lung. I just was kind of bored the whole time, even though I felt like I should’ve been more into it. Idk, can’t explain it. I like the sounds and the ideas but combined in practice they didn’t do it for me.
