I liked the sound and the energy, but I’m not sure I understood what most of the songs were supposed to mean.

Perfect. No notes.

The sampling and theme/lyrics take this album up a notch making it creative and powerful to listen to. The outro pulls it all together.

Very odd at times but some cool experimental sounds

The awful whiny lyrics made the songs sound worse. I enjoyed the last 2 minutes of Barbarism Begins at Home because of the funky bass and no words. I mean truly every time I started to enjoy the sound of the music the words came in and made me roll my eyes.

Fun rockabilly vibes. Lyrics are pretty wild

I wanted to like the idea of a rock opera, and I was with it the first two songs. But once we got into being molested a few times I was out. The circus cult ending only made it worse. I will not be able to listen to Pinball Wizard again now.

Sinister French rock… I’m not mad at it, just don’t look up the lyrics. I feel like I should be listening to this while participating in a heist.

It’s a 4.5! Started off kinda slow but this is how you make an album. Ending with All Apologies, *chef’s kiss*

This would have been incredible to actually see live, but listening to a 2 hour and 15 minute live Metallica performance with an orchestra on my phone is a whole different story. I love Metallica and couldn’t make it. I just can’t do live albums

2.5- some of this was actually pretty enjoyable, the rest was a little too much… acappella is a choice

Not a huge jazz guy, but you can tell this is good jazz. I enjoyed when the drums went crazy

Punk rock as hell. The first 30 seconds sets the tone for how fun this is to listen to. Anti-pope is a highlight. Just a little too British to get 5 stars from me

This has to be the most unique album I’ve listened to. Not only is the whole thing so different from anything I’ve heard, but also each song is so different from the last. I have to give the artistry and creativity here the respect it deserves. If I had to pick a favorite I think it would have to be 5/4

After the first song I thought I would hate this album. It ended up being so fun to listen to if not a little too long. Fuck capitalism. Fuck fascists. :)

Money is good, Time is good, but the rest I don’t really like! I feel uncultured for not understanding the cult worshipping of this one. Just felt like a lot of noise with some good stuff occasionally tucked in there to me. I really went into this ready to be blown away (maybe that was part of the problem).

I was not really feeling it at first, but after Supersonic, I started rockin with it. Slide Away was a highlight for sure.

Concept, sound, themes. Nothing like it!

Not bad, just really not for me.

I’m having a hard time rating this one. Maybe a 3.5 would be appropriate? I like the themes and the lyrics. I like Just and My Iron Lung. I just was kind of bored the whole time, even though I felt like I should’ve been more into it. Idk, can’t explain it. I like the sounds and the ideas but combined in practice they didn’t do it for me.

I was gonna give it a 4 for how many bops are on here, but the interlude made me take a star away. Ugh.

Bruce can’t really sing so that really puts a damper on all his music for me. I can’t even enjoy the blue collar and gay themes because it all sounds like shit.

If I were on more drugs this might take me to a different level of existence altogether. As it stands, I had a great time listening to this! It was engaging and interesting the whole time and entirely unique. Each song was its own rollercoaster. Loved Out of the Void and Medication, not a huge fan of Trainspotting.

The first half was better than the second, but this rocks. Folkin it up.

Listening to this all the way through in one sitting feels like watching a black and white movie. It’s very dramatic and romantic, but… I would never choose to listen to this

I was initially like oh Jesus more British pop BS. And then I was bopping my head along and enjoying myself. Don’t get me wrong it’s nothing particularly revolutionary or inspirational, but it’s fun. I’d give it a 2.5 but I’m rounding up to a 3 here because it seems gay. Update just read more about it- definitely gay. Love it.

Love this groovy, psychedelic shit. Could listen to this all day

This album is certainly for a certain age range/place in life. I think most of the positive feelings and thoughts I had about this album were purely based on nostalgia. If today was the first time I heard Electric Feel, I would not enjoy it lol. The first 10 seconds of the album immediately transported me, so that’s impressive. The only song on here I could even imagine myself ever purposely listening to again is Of Birds, Moons, and Monsters, but I probably won’t.

I’ll preface this by saying Where Is My Mind? is a top tier song. I know they were going to for the underproduced thing, but it got a little too messy for me at some points. And the lyrics? I can completely appreciate the innovation and influence from this album and I’m guessing that I would enjoy later albums by the Pixies more because I love the punk/grunge/alternative sound.

Hard to get past how much I dislike the vocals, but the themes and the music are really good. Punk rock mixed with funk and other genres is exactly up my alley, I wish they weren’t so British. I did enjoy Return The Gift.

Everyday People into a 15 minute jam called sex machine is hilarious and amazing. Funky, trippy, inspirational, what more could you want?

Why am I listening to a guy fantasize about teenage girls? In multiple songs? And it’s just a bunch of caterwauling. Only reason it’s 2 instead of a 1 is because sometimes the music sounded pretty good.

This is the kind of shit that couldn’t be made today because the literacy rate in America is too low. Like it says in the opening of Who’s Gonna Take the Weight? Knowledge is Power and knowledge can be the difference between life and death. When people say music is art, this is a prime example. Powerful piece of art this album is. Poetry with a DJ

Banger after banger. I was listing out my favorites songs from it and was just putting almost all of them down. It’s loud in all the right places. Just a gold mine. I was sad when it ended.

I actually liked most of the music. It’s very theatrical and interesting. But goddamn they should have outsourced the singing. Mr. Cave’s voice was bad to the point of distraction. I would get used to it by the end the song and almost forget about it and then the next song would start and boom immediately all I can focus on is how much he cannot sing.

Music for when you’re in a medically induced coma. Getting a 2 because some of the songs were listenable. Mostly would not want to hear any of that again.

I was not sure what to expect going into this and I ended up enjoying it a lot. It’s a very ethereal and earthy folk vibe and the musical arrangements were lovely. The first few seconds of her voice surprised me and I thought I would hate it but it immediately fit so well with the music that it just works.

Hell yeah dude. Two stepping in my living room. I can hear the influence from this on some of my favorite music.

Somehow We Are Family was my least favorite song on the album (compliment). This is definitely the best album I’ve listened to from this list so far. I wanted to play every single song on repeats just to enjoy it more. It starts off high and fun and gets deeper and mellower for a whole listening experience.

Super fun mix of sounds and genres.

I did not like the beginning but it did end up getting better as it went. I still cannot figure out why everyone likes this band so much.

Bass goes hard as hell. Another case of rockin music and not my favorite vocals, but I had a good enough time I can slightly overlook it. Take Me Out is so good. Michael? Gay.

Fun and quirky. A little long

If literally anyone else was dying singing this it would be really good. Unfortunately for me I have to listen to hot fucking ass again. Why is he in here so many times? Adam Raised a Cain was okay, but the others were so bad I stopped listening halfway through the album.

This album has some fucking sick guitar and sax. Like next level. Unfortunately the talk-singing ruins the experience for me. I would listen to an instrumental of this shit all day and probably give it a 5.

Such peak 2000s yearner music. There’s a reason the CEO/HR lady were canoodling ay a Coldplay concert. If I’m gonna listen to soft whiny rock, it’s gonna be this.

I really enjoyed this, even with Jesus

I knew that I would either really like this or hate it based on what I know about the Talking Heads. There are so many aspects of this album that are incredibly weird and off putting and they are placed so perfectly to make it interesting and impactful. You can hear the groove/funk influence in the music. The energy starts out so high and fizzles out by the end (only thing stopping me from giving this a 5).
