1001 Albums Summary

First Lynyrd Skynyrd album! Have this on CD from high school somewhere, but still need to get it on vinyl.

Good for background music, but I didn't find much to like in this album.

Pretty good, but not as good as the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Probably wouldn't get this on vinyl, but might listen to a few select tracks on occasion.

Good acoustic guitar, very reminiscent of Paul Simon. But the album itself feels very monotone - same tempo, same vibe for every song. Might listen again while reading or to have something in the background.

Great blues album, I can see why it's a classic. This might be something I buy on vinyl. Not quite 5 stars, but that's just personal opinion.

Eh, this wasn't really my thing. Too moody, too slow, no memorable melodies. I wouldn't listen again.

Starts with the classic "Take On Me", but then after that it's fairly generic 80s synth ballads. I'd probably prefer a "best of" album from A-Ha assuming they have more than one hit

This was awful. I couldn't finish the album because it gave me headaches. I'm not who sure this is for or what genre it is, but each song seemed worse than the next. No idea how it made this list.

Amazing album that I've never heard before. I don't listen to a lot of country, but this album was no-skips worthy. My first good find on this site!

A classic which I already own on vinyl. Great album.

This was a great early Eric Clapton record that I hadn't heard all the way through, although I knew "Layla," and it remains the heavy hitter on this album. Overall, very good!

Oof, DNF. I've never heard any thrash metal that I've liked.

I thought I liked the Black Keys more than this. Maybe I need to try a different album. Still pretty good though.

Actually a great rock album! Some of the songs all sound the same, but that sameness is pretty good.

Not great. Slow beats, lots of theramin and synth, few if any vocals. Atmospheric but boring.

This was pretty good! Like the Ramones, but with less punk and more 70's rock. However, songs were fairly repetitive with no memorable lyrics to speak of. Still, a good sound.

Classic, probably his best album. Already have the vinyl.

Decent Bob Marley album, but he's not my type of music. If you like reggae, then this would be 5 stars I'm sure.

Instrumental techno. Mostly boring. Not awful though.

Overall, this was disappointing. Not a lot of good vocal work, which was the expectation. Left no impression. Wouldn't listen again.

This was surprisingly nice! Probably an influence on Mumford and Sons, maybe influenced by The Shins and/or Paul Simon. I'd listen to this again.

Classic with Birdland! I've heard it before. Too bad the other tracks aren't as strong.
