1001 Albums Summary

First Beatles album, I listened to back to back. I enjoyed "Drive my car", "Girl" and "I'm looking through you". Overall better than anticipated.

Never really listened to a full Pixies album before. Some classics "Gouge Away" and "Here comes my man". Overall enjoyed, but probably takes a few more repeat cycles to fully click.

Lots of classics, "so fresh so clean", "gasoline dreams", "ms jackson". Nice to listen to the full album, will definitely keep this one in the rotation.

Very groovy. Nice pick, that I would have not listened to other wise.

Never listened to much Blur beyond Song 2. Not super overwhelmed with this album, but you can hear a lot of influences on other brit rock bands. Needs more listens.

A very wild mix of music, from old school rap, to jazz, to pop stuff. Some nice tunes, in particular "The Whole Point of No Return".

Nice to listen to the full album. "She's always a woman to me" very classic!

Classic punk rock with three chords. "Now I want to sniff some glue" and "blitzkrieg bob" will never get old.

Not my favorite Bowie album, but crazy to imagine that this was released just before his death..

Nice one! Very much like "Strange Ones" and "Mansize Rooster". Will have to listen to this more, but seems very influential on the entire 90s brit rock scene.

Nice! Quite groovy and rocky.

Another Elton John album. Enjoyed "I've seen that movie too" and "Candle in the wind", but overall not as good as the previous one.

First Santana record I listened too. Knew "Black Magic Women" and "Oye Como Va". "Samba Pa Ti" has a killer guitar sound and feel but beyond this this album did not move me too much.

Enjoyed this, especially "Sisters of the moon" and "beautiful child". Not as many hits as Rumours though

Lot's of big hits on this one. Will need to listen deeper. "Sexy Boy" and "All I need" are staples of the 90s.

Too much Jazz

"If you see her say hello" has been a long time favorite. Overall nice album.

Very wild, and seemed a little unfocused. But enjoyed some of the Gilmour-like guitar on the opening track.

Absolute classic and 5 star album. Bombtrack, Killing in the name of, Bullet in the head, know your enemy, wake up, freedom, take the power back. One hit after another.

Very classic hip hop album. Juicy is a big hit ("it was all a dream"). Strong title track.

Another classic hip hop album. Ice cube, Dr. Dre, Easy-E, Mc Ren. Only knew the title track and "Fuck Tha Police", but also other good tracks including "Express Yourself".

Alright, but nothing too standout. Favorite is probably "I know I'm losing you"

Nice 90s grunge/anxiety. Die in the summer time, was probably my favorite. Need to listen to more of MSP!

Love Nick Cave. "Into my arms" and "Are you the one that I've been waiting for" are classics.

Not my favorite Cardigans album, but still a few nice songs on it, including classic Lovefool.

Not bad overall, just not my taste preference. After Hours is probably the favorite on this one.

Always tough starting with a live album, but liked this one. "I want you to want me" and "Surrender" are probably the two biggest hits on this one!

90s hip hop has not aged well. While I understand that it was probably influential and novel when it came out, on today's standard is (musically, not lyrically) less relevant

As much as I love Metallica (and this was one of my first Metallica albums I listened to from start to finish), S&M is just overloaded. A lot of the orchestra stuff does not fit, especially in the faster songs. Obviously, some of the ballads (Nothing Else Matters, One, ..) the orchestra is brilliant, but on a whole it's often more a distraction than an addition.

The album that started heavy metal. Love the rain on the opening track, followed by the haunting riffs.

Haven't had listened to Kanye's first album yet. All Falls Down and Jesus Walks as highlights. Will definitely give it another listen.
