Wild Is The Wind
Nina Simone*Gordon Ramsay voice* finally some good fucking music. Seriouly, this album could come out today and nobody would blink an eye. It's completely outstanding not just among 60s music, but 20th century music in general.

big up Virginia Plain. Literally no idea what any of these songs are about and I refuse to learn. vibes only
Another one of *those* albums that's probably really good if you grew up with it, but now is just more of the same
The main reason I'm listening through the 1001 is to find stuff like this. Super chill, experimental and simply very well done.
Our house is one of my favourite songs I've found this year, what a lovely and wholesome bit of music history
"In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony god's blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my own intelligence" -John Lennon
wow it sounds like the Beatles, that's crazy. My mom says that the first song on this album was a hit but I thought it was probably the worst one. Goes to show that people from the 70s weren't actually cool and the shit they liked also sucked dookie
A N D R O G Y N O U S Fun album and a great read on Wikipedia. These guys are too cool for their own good
I didn't hate it but it was wildly unmemorable. I listened to a couple of the songs more than once and still got absolutely nothing out of it. Shame, I think my dad saw them live when they were touring in the seventies lol
pretending to be asian is an American institution on par with the bill of rights Fr tho this shit is weird af, 'baroque falsetto' is a bit much even for me
Angst truly is timeless
Napalm Death ft. Randy from South Park on vocals This is the kind of music that if you tell people you like it they either think you're really smart or that you chew on bricks for living, no middle ground. +1 star for being from the West Midlands
Feels weird to do a 'yaaas queen' joke here but I really want to do I'm going to leave my review like this in memoriam
Solid vibes
Incredibly discordant but it really does work. I don't understand music
The main reason I'm listening through the 1001 is to find stuff like this. Super chill, experimental and simply very well done.
This is a weird album to me because I know a few of these songs but not this version of these songs. "blue moon" is a bop, not as good as The Marcel's version but still interesting to hear the original.
I can't claim I listened to the whole thing (two hours what) but I did listen to a lot of it. Acid jazz is a real genre-bending kind of music and this album really takes it to the next level. I think there's a didgeridoo in the first song? It's cool, not much more to say.
There were a couple decent ones on there but I don't really see what's so special
Background music from a PS2 racing game
Meh. Doesn't stick with me at all, I remember literally none of the songs
Where is "Whip It"
Governor Cuomo finally got around to listening to this in 2021... Look what happened
Second album with Neil Young on it, I swear everything that guys does is good
Lol why is Paul McCartney on this album, go away
Nice to have something that really screams "90s".

Trys so hard to be relatable that it completely falls flat on its own merits. I dislike this singing style as well. Thundercat definitely goes on Reddit
wacky and wonderful, once again I don't have the words to describe an album beyond 'vibes'
Kindof fun. Not mind-blowing but pretty good!
Terrible SEO guys c'mon. Won't lie though, I love this kind of music
Had me feeling some type of way on my walk, but really nothing THAT interesting. Not particularly memorable at all
Another one of *those* albums that's probably really good if you grew up with it, but now is just more of the same
Eh, it's ok. White guys singing reggae always makes me laugh. +1 stars for being from Birmingham
The world needs more angry music
big up Virginia Plain. Literally no idea what any of these songs are about and I refuse to learn. vibes only
I've never listened to Nirvana before. It's really astounding how it grabbed my attention (I'm listening to this at 2am after working late) because holy shit I really savoured this like I haven't for other music in the past. Goddamn
Got the job (walk) done.
This guy must get so much old lady poon. Good for him. Also Clevor Trever is the first rap song don't @me
Surely the best of the best out of the 1980s Rekyavik altrock scene
British men, go to horny jail
Amazing that is from 1983. Sounds of the mid 2000s at a minimum
Jazz is such a vibe. This wasn't my favourite but still a huge improvement on everything that came out in the 70s that we usually listen to lmao
Another band with poor SEO! Shame. Didn't really like the music but the cover is great, 10/10 design
Not my vibe so much but bangers aplenty so can't complain
One of the most powerful voices in music. Just turn off the lights, stare at a wall and understand what music is all about
Pretty ordinary, nothing much special.
I think maybe another Morrissey album could be very good but this one isn't stunning really
Meh. Ready or Not is good, 2 stars for the rest of the album
I thought it was fun. Brummie queen as well 😍
I can smell this album from 50 years in the future
Props to being really fucking weird
The really 'raw' sound is really something I'm not used to, but this is quite nice.
Fun! Shangri-la is good
"Ice cube the bitch killer"
Nice voice, very cute good vibes.
Reggae is such an underrated genre, wish more people would take it seriously. Rip Bob Marley, you would've hated Israel.
Weird to see Green on this list... I guess he was more popular than I thought lol. It was pretty good! A bit dated but still worthwhile
Very interesting. No idea about genre lol
What more is there to say, the BEST high-energy album out there. If you listen to this while walking and don't increase your 3x something is wrong with you. Lyrics (which use a lot of phrases now used by the worst people in the world I will admit) are relevant as always.
Literally 40 minutes of saxophone solo
Doesn't do it for me. Not a fan of Morrissey as it turns out
not a fan of 'easy listening' type music, I want my music to challenge me, hurt me, surprise me on a walk with a shank in the back etc. what's the point otherwise
I do think Ice Cube is very funny but ngl this really doesn't do it for me.
Chicken korma for the soul
Solid little album. Never heard of this band so pleasantly surprised.
Nothing *too* too special but surprisingly decent for 70s rock. None of the songs seem to be really about anything but that's ok in my book :)
Yet another I've never heard of that is incredibly impressive. I don't get all the hullabaloo around the 70s when the 60s seem to have stuff like this
Meh. I don't get the hype, hooks are THAT good and the lyrics aren't THAT profound.
Nope sorry. Zero vibes. Some nice hooks though I'll give it that
No idea how to describe, but I thought that this is a great album full of underwhelming individual songs. I overuse "vibe" but that's what it is, it's a overwhelming feeling of goodness permeating my daily life. Very pleasant
Yeah agreed Ben.
Sounds like music my parents would listen to. Not like, egregiously bad or anything just generally passable
Ok let me explain: this was a great album but I wasn't really feeling it the same as the other Nirvana we did earlier. On another day this could easily be 5 stars. Forgive me :'(
me: is Fatboy Slim fucking in heaven? Song:
Put this on and promptly forgot it was playing until it was almost done. Musically about as interesting as the Jitterbug song from the commercials. The inferior Elvis by far
I wouldn't call it anything special. Not sure why it's on this list tbh, never heard of this group before
Kindof a medieval vibe? Very very interesting. Would like to hear more of whatever genre this is
50s best decade. Fight me
Everytime I hear, read about or watch Bob Dylan I think he's a wanker but this actually wasn't bad
Heroes is probably one of the best songs ever. Never fails to make me feel good. The rest of this album is broadly a disappointment though imo. Sad, could easily be a 5 star but not this time
Prince really doesn't do it for me. I don't get it at all
Brooooooo, no idea how anyone else will react to this (not well is my guess) but I was kind of bobbing along? Definitely not my type of music and I doubt I'll relisten but for what it is, great.
Imagine unironically being Australian. Embarrassing
Easiest 5 star so far. Continues to be a formative album for every generation. The longevity alone is incredible, all together the album is one of the greatest pieces of American culture ever. Perhaps most impressive of all is that this isn't even their best album!
Pretty decent vibes, didn't blow me away. Deserves a relisten
Not bad but not for me. Also album too long guys, c'mon
Gritty stuff. Got the walk done so can't complain
Makes you feel cool. What else is there to say
I'm actually ranked global elite at the studio game
The working title of this albums was "blowjob?" Which makes me a bit sad about what could've been
I hate this. Zero vibes.
Absolutely slaps. Very happy to tick off another artist on my masterlist of "artists mentioned in the extended version of the sopranos theme" playlist
Literally who listens to this. Absolutely not
Not too bad! Pretty ordinary, definitely won't listen again.
I do really like synth pop but maybe this was a bit early for me?
Not the best Beatles album but still notable for being weird and expiremental which was outstanding for the time.
Does liking Oasis make me basic? Probably. There are too many bangers to ignore on this though
Thus guys sounds like he should voice a Muppet named after him
WE WANT THE FUNK, HERE COMES THE FUNK On a side note, I now understand what 'funk' means
High energy and enjoyable. Exactly the kind of thing most people would hate
A few bangers. Slowed down a lot at the end, still good though
Really curious how this got to be on this list. It's not a particularly *great* album but it is very weird and I can't recall ever hearing anything like it so I guess it's got that going for it.
really need to watch this movie. If it's half as good as the soundtrack it's 4.5 stars easy
More hippie nonsense. Don't know why people would listen to this today
**ck's Sea change is mostly uninteresting, Lost Cause was good though
Nahhh fuck off Bee Gees. Fuck you
Eyyyy it's the other good Brummie group. I think we've had all three of them now. This is a very good album, slower tempo but doesn't sacrifice intensity.
Eyyy it's one I know! Good little album. A little edgy but mostly just fun. Need to listen to more of this band
Decent little album, I particularly enjoyed "look at you"
FRIED ICE-CREAM IS A REALITY Made back when they knew how to name music the right way. I mean cmon "promentalshitbackwashpsychosis"??? Nobody will ever be this cool again
Another album that's not bad but I don't understand why it's on this list
There was some pretty sick saxophone stuff but mostly meh
*Alvin and the Chipmunks announcer voice* ELTONNNNNNNNNNNNN
First really new albums we've had ayyy. I really enjoyed it, as with most of the new stuff it's completely weird and unique but for once it really worked imo
Decent reggae, didn't blow me away. Solid vibes
Decent rock. Surprised it's not better ngl
Total pimp move to only have two songs on an album. This is my only feedback
Eh, I can appreciate it for being different. Doesn't blow my mind or anything, also it's not the best example of this genre
This absolutely slaps. More of this pls list
This is pretty boring. huge letoff for this list imo
I emjoy
Made me do a little jig
Bob "pimpin" Dylan back at it again
John Cale and Lou Reed really go together so well. Welsh excellence!!
Not as many bangers as I would've expected from this group. Oh well
wonderful. Not a complete package without the Y but still, massive bops
Ok so I really love 4 of these songs, 3 of them are very good and 'Jazz Police' really belongs on a completely different album? Really threw off the vibes with that one Leonard. Still though, great album
Early Bruce is not best Bruce but it is still good Bruce.
One of the best ever to do it. This album isn't his peak but it still slaps
One word: Atmosphere
You're so right Waylon, those Mexican's definitely don't know who god is
Several bangers. Enjoyed this a lot when it came out
I was boppin to this. Good fun
Slipknot rules. Take that liberals!!1!
"Sad bastard music" as Jack Black's character from High Fidelity called it, Belle and Sebastian will always hold a special place in my heart for being gentle enough to be genuinely touching without succumbing to excessive melodrama
My dream is to be one of those background singers with an incredibly deep voice
This is very sweet
Randy put that one first because he wanted everyone to hear him say it
Isaac Hayes had 14 kids, absolute king. Also, fuck Scientology
Very close to being good in an ironic way. Don't understand how anyone could listen to this straight faced and say it was good
what a fucking morbid album, Jesus Christ
