Was reading an article that said the Pixies were the most influential alt/indie rock band of all time and this album shows why.
liked 3 or 4 songs, super experimental
First off, Black Thought is a wizard on the mic. The Seed (2.0) is one of my favorite songs, super nostalgic, but I had never listened to the entire album. Didnt know how different !!! and Thirsty! were from the rest of the album.
80s pop/punk/new wave. At points almost sounds like a precursor to CA surf rock.
Enter Sandman is one of the greatest walkout songs ever. Sounds like heavy metal driving in the right lane.
luna y sol is a bop. Ooh some French in there thats cool guess the dude is bilingual. Won't be revisiting this tho b/c I cant understand 90% of it
smooth af

really really early dance/electro. Alright but it goes on forever (2 hours)!
Classic dad rock vibes. That state trooper song didn't age well.
classic
Stevie Nicks was on some shit, just banger after banger. Recorded in Sausalito, CA!!
Alright I hate folk but this was alright. Her voice is soothing and it sounds like theres background banjo the entire album.
WTF this is some crazy experimental stuff from the 70s. The album is made up of quick snippets of unfinished songs and one ten minute journey of a track. Sounds like he was on a ton of psychs when he was recording, makes sense.
jazzy. lots of trumpet
not their best
My first ska album in this. Almost sounds like a live recording. Message to you Rudy sounds like a classic movie song idk why.
Kinda a combination of rock and country (I guess its called roots rock?). Not really my cupa tho
An amazing live album, crazy it wasn't released for ~20 yrs because RCA was scared of ruining Cooke's image.
Couldn't get through it, seemed basic
ZZ Top was one of the first bands I saw live (2008 Orange Bowl halftime show) but I had no idea who they were.
ehhhhhhhhhhh
Shining Star is a classic soul song. Very funky, exactly what I expect from the best soul band ever.
soul goat. RIP
blusey
apparently it created britpop as a genre? well im not British
Are The Clash the greatest British punk band ever? The band is part of the early wave of punk rock in the late 70s. High energy as you'd expect.
Minimalistic electronic from Germany. Sounds like a Pokemon theme track. Metal on Metal sounds like i'm on a train. Alright they gotta stop repeating trans europe express its enough (it went on for 3 songs).
I heard about this album on some music nerds tiktok. Not really my style
lol theres a song called Gary's got a boner
Amazing guitar from Jimi here
McCartney is an amazing songwriter
nothing special
good drums
This inst his best work
holdup the name of the band is Boards of Canada but they're Scottish??? Very ambient and trippy
is this considered disco or pop
first off, great album cover. jazzy rock fusion sounds like dad music
Brazil!
sunshine of your love is a classic
this is weird man. funny hats tho
sounds very blues inspired not as psychedelic as i expected
lots of bass slappin on this one
the sultans of swing da da da duh da da da
angsty teen rock from the 90s
not as many classics as Cosmic Thing but still a great new wave/dance rock album. I liked the guitar on rock lobster tho
this album cover is way better than the 50th anniversary one that spotify shows.
Its crazy how similar Kurt's voice sounds live to the recordings.
I've loved this album for a couple years now so this will be biased. My favorite project from the the band even though AM is more popular and has a more pop-y sound. You can hear the grit of the concerts in the music.
gonna be real hard for a country album to get above a 3
I'm liking the radio music that Spotify plays after the album more than the album
I imagine this got the jazz clubs boppin
Strong start but tails off
more complex and experimental than their other albums
cant get into folk
As 60s as it gets. Psych rock
Sounds like pretty basic psychedelic rock from the 60s.
I am genuinely surprised that an album this contemporary and experimental is on this list. The synthesizer on her voice is perfect throughout the project. Super interesting blend between electronic and r&b.
smug looking mf
Alright this is way different than anything on this list so far. The harmonies are crazy but theres no other instrumentation. Can't give it a high score because I won't return to it.
2.5 but like their rock sound more than their pop sound
laid back
Latin/Cuban jazz is my favorite type of jazz, just makes you want to salsa. Ok reading more about it I guess its not considered jazz? Well whatever it is it's good.
great porch/crusin music.
cant find the album on Spotify so im rating the song. good song very funky
classic
Outkast is a top 3 rap group of all time. This is like a 4.5 because of the interludes and what they did during their first three albums
some jams on here
rough around the edges but its their debut
ahead of its time
Not even their most popular album. Very very generic 80s pop
liked 3 or 4 songs, super experimental
baba
another debut album on this list, grungy
porch chillin vibes
booooring
way ahead of its time, cool to hear modern music that has been sampled/interpolated from this album when listening.
boring
Green Day was the shit in the Bay Area during the early 2000s. Reminds me of elementary school
Jay's second best album, but still a 5. Only critique is Girls, Girls, Girls hasn't aged well but otherwise the album is really strong from beginning to end.
very busy jazz
Kanye's most accessible masterpiece. Not as experimental as Yeezus or 808s, obviously a 5.
the white man's favorite album of the 2000s -roling stone
slower than What's Going On
damn this is an hour and a half long? But theres a ton of good songs on here and some deep(not that deep) cuts that arent referenced in the Beatles doscog
horrible album cover btw
stan is a top 5 storytelling song of all time
not as smooth as his previous albums
the holy trinity of dad rock: Neil Young, DMB, and Stelley Dan
the cover goes crazy but the music doesnt
should have started off with Money for Nothing. But this song is just about them being movers/contractors??
I just hear the remix when heads will roll is on
have to rate it a 5, especially after seeing the documentary
I dont like the singer
the greatest debut album in hip hop
didnt know bout this one
basic 90s alt rock
2
simply too old, sounds like its coming out of a gramophone
unbearably slow paced
all over the place, not what I expected from a White Stripes album
sounds like it should be Top Gun. Is this considered yacht rock or just regular 80s pop rock? Sledgehammer is a bop.
dj premier is a legend
great live album
very weird
more instrumental than i thought
i could have done without the screaming bits
didnt like it as much as I hoped
not their best
needed to be high
A-haw haw haw-haw
