Yes So gentle, no over singing in this one Sound of New York

Yes Debt to Public Enemy very evident. Bit more metal with funky moments particularly the bass, really tight drumming

No Go a lot of swing. Another one with a debt to Public Enemy even has the of sample thrown in. Sad that 30 years later many of the themes about segregation are still current

No Thought this was a single LP version of Live Rust which I have but it's not. Some different songs.. Still same switch from acoustic to electric.

No Can imagine this being played in an American bar in the mid west. Hints of ZZ top, Guns and Roses Alright but not for me

Sharp, tight guitar, definitely hear Albini's hand at the controls

Not immediate but wanted to listen again when it got to the end

The first three singles are amazing; Drowners, metal mickey and animal nitrate. Slight off put by what I think was said at the time, Brett's "holidaying in other people's misery" lyrics

To the untrained ear this could be Bob Dylan with a bit of country added in. I enjoyed it.

I'm not a Coldplay basher but does get a bit dull in parts. The scientist is excellent

Haven't always warmed to this album but on listening again, it's sharp Albini production

The songs, the arrangements the delivery are all amazing. It's totally understandable why this is considered a classic

Quite a jump from Diamond Dogs. Soulful, great arrangements especially for the backing vocals.
