Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Oct 09 2023

Bangers bang, rest isn’t inspiring. Mid/vocals muted which although a style is not my cuppa

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Oct 10 2023

3.5/5 - for me 3 or 4 songs really stood out but the album is quite repetitive

Oct 11 2023

2.5/5 - I wasn't the target audience 35 years ago upon release and I'm probably further from the target audience 35 years later. The bar writing on the whole is good but i find a lot of the other musical choices abrasive (which may be the point). I preferred the 2nd half of the album but apart from the odd song (SWCZ & BSitHoC) I cannot see myself relistening.

Kid A by Radiohead
Oct 12 2023

3.5/5 - Solid album at what "it" is, I just don't think I love what "it" is. If I did love what "it" is, then this would be fantastic.

The Predator by Ice Cube
Oct 13 2023

4/5 - Powerful and great

Hotel California by Eagles
Oct 16 2023

4/5 - classic from start to finish, the big numbers are obviously great songs but even the lesser known are still fantastic. Wasted Time was an unexpected highlight.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Oct 17 2023

3.5/5 - A very good album, I enjoyed all of it

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Oct 20 2023

1/5 - I do not understand the love for this band. Perhaps I'm missing the point and the genius but I dislike this album. It is impressive how listening to this horribly mixed album sounds bad across all listening devices.

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Oct 23 2023

2.5/5 - There is beauty in the subtle and simple and when the songs build with several instruments all complimenting each other is when this album is at its best. However these moments of beauty are undercut by experimental choices, often feeling out of place and therefore interrupting the positive moments. Ultimately making a lot of the songs feel disjointed. Organ donor is my standout track.

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Oct 24 2023

3/5 - Good Soul album which starts off strong and then pleasantly continues. The two standout songs having stood the test of time for a reason.

Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams
Oct 25 2023

3/5 - Really not my genre and nothing particularly stood out however the album was worth a second playthrough and I enjoyed it.

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Oct 26 2023

2.5/5 - Classic 80s album for 9 songs, it dropped off significantly for the last 3. I Want You Now is my standout on this one.

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Oct 27 2023

1.5/5 - I did not connect with this album at all

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Oct 30 2023

3/5 - All songs are likeable if not a bit similar. Racing in the Street was my highlight

The White Album by Beatles
Oct 31 2023

3.5/5 - Good album for the first 1.5/3 discs/sides, but it's not wall to wall bangers. Revolution 9 is awful though and taints the whole experience.

Paris 1919 by John Cale
Nov 01 2023

2/5 - Did nothing for me, just unoffensive background music

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Nov 02 2023

3/5 - Good album would listen again at some point. The Weight being the obvious classic.

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Nov 06 2023

4/5 - Wonderful album, his voice can't help but to bring depth and soul to the lyrics which are consistently beautiful and thought provoking.

Abraxas by Santana
Nov 07 2023

2.5/5 - listened through it a few times in the background and nothing stood out however pleasant enough listening with some lovely little bits

Live At The Star Club, Hamburg by Jerry Lee Lewis
Nov 08 2023

3/5 - Many classic songs and a good performance, however live albums have to be special to elevate the studio versions and I'm not sure if this does that.

Bluesbreakers by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
Nov 09 2023

3/5 - A pleasant enough album done very well. Drum solo's suck though.

Larks' Tongues In Aspic by King Crimson
Nov 10 2023

3/5 - I can see the potential in this and it's so close to being great, large portions of most songs were really well composed and were very enjoyable. However on most of the tracks they take it too far and end up producing more annoying than inspired sounds which heavily reduces how much I enjoyed them.

Nov 14 2023

5/5 - Iconic album which keeps a high level of quality throughout. The Scientist the obvious highlight but the whole album delivers.

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Nov 15 2023

3/5 - can't quite decide how much I like it but I did enjoy it

Junkyard by The Birthday Party
Nov 16 2023

1/5 - The instrumental components were okay, but the vocals make this almost unlistenable

Nov 17 2023

2/5 - Hard for me to judge this properly as I don't like the genre. Not my cuppa.

Ramones by Ramones
Nov 20 2023

3.75/5 - solid and classic album

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Nov 21 2023

2/5 - The only real highlight on this album for me is The Passenger, but even then it's only so good. The rest is just mediocre easy listening.

Dummy by Portishead
Nov 22 2023

2/5 - not my cuppa

Truth by Jeff Beck
Nov 23 2023

2.5/5 - was okay

Doolittle by Pixies
Nov 24 2023

4/5 - I am a big fan of this, will listen again

Giant Steps by The Boo Radleys
Nov 29 2023

2/5 - was okay

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Nov 30 2023

3.5/5 - not everything on this album hits the highs of the highlights, Mr. Blue Sky the obvious gem but still an enjoyable listen throughout

Rising Above Bedlam by Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
Dec 01 2023

2.5/5 - A few highlights and good moments, a mix of genres, going from very 90's Britain/London to foreign styles. It doesn't quite work for me but the last 2 songs were pleasant and probably my favourite.

Dec 04 2023

1/5 - I dislike the vocals so much I couldn't listen to more than 1 song. Fuck Morrissey.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Dec 05 2023

4.5/5 - not perfect but really good and I love this album

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Dec 06 2023

3/5 - solid album, I love her voice

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
Dec 08 2023

3/5 - Not a bad album but not great either

Station To Station by David Bowie
Dec 11 2023

3.5/5 - May not be his best work, or rather not my favourite - but this is still very good.

Back In Black by AC/DC
Dec 12 2023

3.75/5 - a solid classic album, if not a bit repetitive

Devil Without A Cause by Kid Rock
Dec 13 2023

1/5 - As a moronic teenager I tried to write rap lyrics, it was terrible and cringe and my friends laughed at me and thus my rap career ended. It seems Kid Rock didnt listen to the laughs of his friends and continued to embarrass himself. How this album sold millions of copies is astounding.

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Dec 14 2023

2/5 - individually the elements are quite nice and pleasant to listen to, combined this is just some bloke talking over a nice piece of music, not my cuppa.

Sincere by Mj Cole
Dec 15 2023

2/5 - Not for me

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
Dec 19 2023

5/5 - Hard to beat this album, makes me want to lower my scores for some others. The Prisoner probably my favourite among an album of favourites.

Hearts And Bones by Paul Simon
Dec 21 2023

2/5 - good voice but I dont think this is a good album

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Dec 25 2023

3/5 - easy listening and enjoyable

The Blueprint by JAY Z
Dec 28 2023

3.5/5 - a classic hip hop album. One of Jay-Z's best.

Tapestry by Carole King
Jan 01 2024

3/5 - Solid

Crazysexycool by TLC
Jan 04 2024

2/3 - The better songs are okay enough in a sea of filler. Can't avoid the cookie cutter pop sound though.

Low by David Bowie
Jan 05 2024

3.5/5 - cant really tell how I feel about this

Revolver by Beatles
Jan 09 2024

4.5/5 - Great album. Got To Get You Into My Life was a personal highlight that I hadn't heard before.

Homework by Daft Punk
Jan 15 2024

3/5 - This was okay but nothing compared to Discovery

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Jan 16 2024

2.5/5 - A pleasant album and listening experience

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Jan 19 2024

3.5/5 - Not quite at his best yet but a solid album. Keeping art separate from the artist.
