The Dark Side Of The Moon
Pink Floydyeah. 5 stars. duh
yeah. 5 stars. duh
Elisabeth Troy's voice on most tracks is really nice. a whole album of UK Garage is definitely a challenge. but surprisingly, this is an album that i will definitely come back to. chill dance music. perfect music to play at a start of a party. made me like and understand UK Garage, maybe ? i wonder what fans of the genre think of this record. "Slum King" masterclass
one of the best live albums of all time
great production on this one (thank you Rick Rubin) "Under the bridge" what an amazing song
incredible record. so effective and so powerful. "Wake Up" what a track (it was on the Matrix soundtrack)
lots of hits on this one. Opening Track "Around the World" is one of my favorite RHCP songs. second part of the album just falls flat for me.
Wow, is this album horny .... but banger after banger songs.
In Utero is better
yeah. 5 stars. duh
this album is 50 years old. how ??? the production isn't as impressive than on "Radioactive", their next album. but pretty really good
Still an absolute banger album.
Could not get into the vocals. His voice was too annoying for me. But the songs are fun and effective. "Calistan" and "Two Reelers" are my personal favorites on that record
the mix between electronic and classical instruments is really well put. Ute has such a beautiful voice. the duets with Neil Hammon in Tango Ballad and in Split ♥️ reminds me of the Hooverphonic live orchestra album Personal favorite: "The case continues" "streets of berlin" & "Purple avenue" "scope j." on the other hand is an experimental snooze-fest and it's sucks that it's the last track. overall : a nice record but unfortunately pretty forgettable
the opening monologue really takes you in the mood of the record. it's nice for a live album to have the feeling of one long take (sometimes there are some fades out or cuts) even the little accidents are kept in. it's refreshing the jazz classics are sung and played well but nothing groundbreaking. not a real memorable performance on one of those well known songs. like my girlfriend said : "it's a good record to wake up to but nothing more"
the opening title track is really good. Golden Years is a nice soul song the rest is pretty forgettable
never heard of the guy before but a incredibly soothing voice. The opening track really had a Pink Floyd feel (similar riff to Breathe (in the air). the rest are mostly campfire rock ballads

some annoying psyche 60s rock. lyrically it's really bland, the voice and orchestration really aren't my thing. "The castle" is the only track i'd save here. the final track "Revelation" has some good moments but it's a bad track in global. Just because you have a 18min track doesn't mean you're like the Doors. lyrically, this track is so bad !
always wanted to listen to this record in full in once. did it while to cleaning up my apartment and it made me really efficient 😅 such a delicious album to listen too. and when you look at the lyrics, it's surprisingly really political. this album is like one long cuddle of pure music. probably more enjoyable by just chilling but still ... wow fav song : Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology) and Inner City Blues
too slow and too long. nothing breathtaking about this record. "City , Country, City" sounds like a bad jam that where musiciens don't listen to each other. boring. the title track "The World is a Ghetto" is the only track i saved. nice chord progression, nice chorus. that's it
boring in extensive measure. worse news, on Apple music we have a lot of extended versions of those songs. a lot of songs sound like background music in a US tavern. the song "sweet thing" takes lyrics from "blackbird" from The Beatles and it sucks, horrible hommage.
"I wanna sleep with you" has a really nice punk-ish feel and some nice riffs. the other tracks aren't really memorable.
what an album !!! nothing more to say. my favorite album from Cat. "Father & Son" always makes me cry. what makes it not a 5 star is the final song which is so bad !
absolutely beautiful. of course i'd heard "Respect" and "Do Right Woman, Do right man" before but i was surprised by how short they were and how well they sounded in the album as a whole. the global orchestration behind Franklin's voice really makes it sound even better. I discovered "Soul Serenade" and it's now a personal soul favorite. and finally that cover of Sam Cooke's "A change is gonna come" WOW 🤯 it's now my favorite version of the song. incredible record.
some perfectly innocent pop-rock songs. "Clocks" is a banger. rest is pretty basic Coldplay music.
nice but nothing incredible imo
not a huge Elvis fan but has some really nice songs on there
1st time listening to an album from the Boss and i was pleasantly surprised by how much i liked this at first. couple songs in and the melodies were catchy, the themes were interesting. i was eager to listen to the rest. then the other songs came ; same melodies, some style of orchestration, same themes. i thought it would never end. like it was on repeat. way too long for something that could have been an EP.
hypnotizing voice. i saved "beautiful feeling" " the whores hustle and the hustlers whore" which is an amazing track. my favorite is "the mess we're in" with Tom York vocals, such a pleasure to have him sing by surprise. A little bit too much New York centered for me. on the other hand she's not really good with the high note parts like in the song "kamikaze" which is painfully difficult to listen to.
when i saw the album cover, i was expecting another boring album but nothing of that ! a balanced album of sweet ballads and fun songs. and even tough his name didn't ring a bell at first, turned out i knew a lot songs on the album. "Coconut" is a bit annoying tough. rest of the album is great.
nice ambiant music. listen while working and did the job
I said it once and I'll say it again Blondie walked so that No Doubt could run. there are nice songs on here, but it's pretty boring as a whole. I really liked "Sunday girl". and of course, "heart of glass" is an absolute banger. too bad "Atomic" wasn't on it otherwise it would have been 4⭐️
a raw punk rock feminist masterpiece. "Deceptacon" is a classic of mine. "What's Yr Take on Cassavetes" is amazing. "The The Empty" is a wild crazy mess, and i loved it. my only remark would be that the riffs are a bit similar in between songs and i know it's a trope from punk albums but the songs are really short sometimes. why not just make one song and have beat switches ? "friendship station" is also a bit too corny for me. i really enjoyed "Dude Yr so Crazy!!" by how lyrically it is still (unfortunately) relevant.
it's always nice to listen to a known band first LP. Michael Stipe's vocals and lyrics are particularly good on this record. favorite tracks : "Perfect Circle" and "We Walk". The album has a nice melancholy and warmth. A great album. will probably come back to it on a chill sunny Sunday. More a 4,5 than a 4.
Under The Pressure Is an Amazing opening track. in General, on the record, the longer a song is the better. I'm just a little disappointed by the drumming which is too simular in between tracks. an Ocean in between the waves is the only that caught me by surprise, with its 80s drums. But great record will come back to it for sure
The definition of 80s pop and I mean that in the best way possible of course there are the classics like "take on me", but I was surprised by how many songs I liked on this record other than the hits. Yes it's corny Yes, it's full of lost songs and pretty dated ones but it's comforting and optimistic and I believe we all need that right now. fav song : Living a boy's adventure tale & the sun always shine on TV
Really classic and really enjoyable jazz and bossa nova standards. Just sometimes the mixing on Antonio's voice really sticks out, we can hear it was recorded on a worst microphone than Sinatra's. fav song : Sinatra/Jobim Medley
First i heard to the Bowie mix and it was horrible. I hated it. Then i listened to the Iggy Mix and it was waaaaaay better. Proto-punk needs to be mixed right to not sound like shit. But in general i wasn't completely convinced by the album
If blues and heavy metal had a kid. A great representation of what grunge is, in my opinion. Gritty, raw, loud, with great vocals. fav tracks : Rooster, JunkHead, Would ?
"More Than a Feeling" is one of my childhood favorites. I was disappointed to not enjoy other songs on this record as much. As my girlfriend said, it's a great "start of road-trip" album. Fav songs : More than a Feeling & Foreplay/Long Time
As soon as i heard the first song, the voice and general vibe sounded really fimiliar. Then i heard the song "My Beloved Monster" and i recognized it from the Shrek soundtrack. I also found out that they made another song in the Shrek 2 soudtrack called "I need some sleep", which is a personal favorite on that record. Besides those facts, I really enjoyed that album. +1 star for the Shrek track. Fav songs : Mental, Your Lucky Day in Hell
Iconic album. I listened to it once with friends after a listening of "Mezzanine" by Massive Attack and we concluded that it's like a positive/opmistic version of that record. "Sexy Boy" and "All I Need" are two of my favorite electronic songs. more of a 4,75 but rounded up.
I really enjoyed this record. Perfect for sunny days. I wanna go on bike rides while listening to this. Fav songs : Marrakesh Express & Hopelessly Hoping
"2+2=5" is one of the best opening track in RH's discography. I find the second part of the album way more effective and explosive. The first half is pretty inconsistent. It came out at this weird period in the band's career (after OK computer & KID A but before In Rainbows) so still in a transition from styles. Since it's a Radiohead album and they are my favorite band, I can't give it less than a 4-star rating but it's a light 4. Fav songs : A Wolf at the Door (masterpiece)& Myxomatosis
well ok. it's great. should have listened to it earlier in my life.
that's 2 Stooges album in less than a month.... and even tough I much prefer this one. but still not really my thing, mixing-wise. fav songs : TV Eye & LA Blues (crazy sax solo) a 2,75 rounded up
