Green
R.E.M.
pretty good. reminds me of the music dad listens to (because he actually does listen to R.E.M. LMFAO). put this on while studying, âtwas an easy listen. i liked it well enough, wouldnât really go out of my way to listen to much BUT i did like âTurn You Inside-Outâ because it was more similar to what i usually listen to! solid 3/5 (would give it a 4 but i have a feeling there will be some genuine 4âs down the road so iâd rather be harsh nowâŚ)

The Velvet Underground & Nico
The Velvet Underground
an interesting listen. no real sense of cohesion imo⌠not necessarily bad! i will say that i REALLY like the track âVenus In Fursâ bc itâs super groovy!! the tracks that were most popular according to apple music were lowkey highkey mid. heroin was an AWFUL RIDE (i was uncomfortable asf because WHAT WERE THOSE INSTRUMENTALS). props to the velvet underground though because they did a really great job of conveying their message with that one. overall, a bit too old sounding for my tastes and a lowkey unpleasant listen.

Crosby, Stills & Nash
Crosby, Stills & Nash
would i actively listen to this? no. did i surprisingly REALLY like it? YES!!!! this was such a cute lil album and was lowkey peak 60âs music. i donât really have much to say about this one, it was pretty straightforward. country meets rock. 4/5!

The Joshua Tree
U2
this was genuinely one of the BEST album openings ever. literally ascended to those instrumentals. this album reminds me of my parents as well bc they LOVE U2 (for context they NEVER go to concerts and they went to a U2 concert and loved it). so from a nostalgia standpoint this album is really great. also it is really great overall, a SOLID, EASY 5/5. pretty similar to what i usually listen to, with a bit more of that mainstream tinge to the sound. âbullet the blue skyâ is probably my favorite tune bc THAT is rock!!!! loved this album like genuinely.

Definitely Maybe
Oasis
this is the first time Iâve actually downloaded new songs from what Iâve listened to! see list below:
âRock ânâ Roll Starâ
âShakermakerâ
âColumbiaâ (this one was REALLY good)
âBring It on Downâ (peep the long guitar solo at the end đ)
âSlide Awayâ
this album had me crying tears of joy (not really but metaphorically speaking). itâs so 90âs alt rock which is basically my entire music taste. idk why i didnât listen to this earlier. thank you to this album generator for forcing me to listen to this before i die. 5/5đ

Mar 28 2025
The Next Day
David Bowie
opener is pretty good, if a bit repetitive. also, hello sexy instrumentals on âdirty boysâ! i liked that one! all in all, solid album. the instrumentals were overall majestic and maybe saved the album in my opinion, but everything else fell flat for me. sorry bowie fans â i know heâs supposed to be âone of the greatsâ but couldnât really get behind this. 3/5.
3
Mar 29 2025
Crime Of The Century
Supertramp
OH MY GOSH âAsylumâ???? CAN WE TALK ABOUT THAT BRIDGE?!?! genuinely AMAZING instrumentals, their music is so passionate and emotional and loud and impactful and perfect. not a lot else to say other than i really liked this album. one goofy ahh song TOTAL. 4/5.

Bad Company
Bad Company
ngl this was objectively a good album and an easy listen, but nothing really stood out in terms of artistry. i DID already know a few of the songs from the radio so it was crazy to be like âwaitâŚ.. this sounds familiarâ. hasnât happened before! 3/5.
3
Mar 31 2025
All Hail the Queen
Queen Latifah
yeah i couldnât really get behind this one. i LOVED her voice and the instrumentals were pretty groovy, but this album was just overall not my style. 2/5.

Paul's Boutique
Beastie Boys
iâm not gonna lie, i was really questioning this albumâs integrity after that opener. BUT it quickly turned around. everything was so funky and rhythmic and FUN! the beastie boys are always a fun listen so idk why i was surprised. nothing really stood out to me, but thatâs not to say i didnât like it⌠in fact, i would say my feelings on this album were more akin to love. would i go out of my way to listen? probably not (rap/hip-hop has never been my niche). BUT it was still a really good album. 4/5!

Apr 02 2025
The Wall
Pink Floyd
empty spaces is rlly good. already know hey you! (also rlly good). love the running motif throughout with the brick in the wall vocal line. also comfortably numb (side 2) is goated. the trial gives edward scissorhands vibes. i like how at the end they broke out of the wall with a BIG BOOM (âoutside the wallâ) and how the whole album was clearly telling a story! 5/5. i really like pink floyd.
5
Apr 03 2025
Disraeli Gears
Cream
yeah i already knew i liked this album. i actually have a record of this album (if you know, you knowâŚ) i really enjoy funky british rock! i did forget to take real notes because i was locked in BUT my favorite tune is probably âsunshine of your loveâ. also, i liked the lament at the end. it gave the album something fresh to end with! 5/5.
5
Apr 04 2025
Trio
Dolly Parton
better than i thought FOR SURE. love dolly but iâve never heard of the other two, and i usually donât care for country. it was an easy listen for sure, but nothing stood out musically. if anything, i thought everyone fell flat, and usually dolly DELIVERS. however, flat does not mean bad! i still liked it overall, i just think more could have been done to make this album stand out. 3/5.

Apr 05 2025
Nevermind
Nirvana
opener (âsmells like teen spiritâ) is a classic. overall, this album is a classic. didnât disappoint (as per usual for nirvana). i was surprised that the closer (âendless, namelessâ) was starting to edge near heavy rock/metal (but i liked it). this is one of those albums/artists where i can understand why theyâre popular. love grunge alternative rock! 5/5.
5
Apr 06 2025
Sister
Sonic Youth
i was unsure at first, but âcatholic blockâ had me thinking that maybe this wasnât so bad of an album. however, this album did kinda feel as if ârock lobsterâ (a good song btw) were translated into a punk rock album. i really appreciated the guitar work, and overall the instrumentals were strong! however, the album was really not cohesive enough for my liking. was gonna rate this a 3/5, then i got to the last track. 2/5.

Apr 07 2025
The Sounds Of India
Ravi Shankar
ngl as an instrumental music girlie i mess with this. i appreciate how the first track WALKS YOU THROUGH traditional indian music which is something i have NEVER heard in an album. little introductions were also present in bits and pieces throughout the album which was cool. this was completely different from anything i have listened to, but iâm really glad i did! 4/5.

Here's Little Richard
Little Richard
âtutti fruttiâ MIGHT be the catchiest opener iâve heard yet. THEREâS EVEN A TAKE TWO ON DISC 2! a good walking bass line always speaks to my soul (thereâs one in pretty much every tune). i appreciate how much the sax is RIPPING throughout. âoh why?â is also a standount! i love 50âs rock and roll. 5/5.
5
Apr 09 2025
Don't Stand Me Down
Dexys Midnight Runners
didnât take many notes on this one because it was unremarkable. not necessarily an enjoyable listen, but not unpleasant either. it helps that this album was britpop (i love british music). otherwise mid. 3/5.
3
Apr 10 2025
London Calling
The Clash
âlondon callingâ was kinda giving âmonster mashâ (you know the one). so strong start. after that i actually kinda liked the album, but nothing stood out. i wish this was out of ten so i could give it a 7/10. but unfortunately i canât. so 3/5.

Apr 11 2025
The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter
The Incredible String Band
my head says no, but my heart says YES!!!! iâm not gonna lie this is not what iâd normally get down to at all, but i really liked it (against my better judgement). the âexoticâ instrumentation (thanks wikipedia) was so funky and nontraditional that i couldnât help but giggle to myself. also, iâm pretty sure this album told a story (not 100% but it felt like it did so i also like that). thank you psychedelic folk. 4/5.
4
Apr 12 2025
Fear Of A Black Planet
Public Enemy
i lowkey vibed throughout this entire album. big 90âs rap jammer here. i think â911 is a jokeâ was one of my favorites. not download-worthy but still a fun listen. this album was an hour long but went by SO UNBELIEVABLY QUICK. i liked the transitions from song to song â this album almost felt like one continuous track. bravo! 4/5.

Tom Tom Club
Tom Tom Club
listened to the non-deluxe version because that was the only available one. not really my type of album and i honestly found it odd that it was classified as pop. especially considering after i listened to this album airbuds told me i was the top listener on the app for tomorrow tom. i felt the long version of âgenius of loveâ was an unnecessary addition (considering the short version sucked too). thankful i didnât have access to the deluxe version. 1/5.

Apr 14 2025
Car Wheels On A Gravel Road
Lucinda Williams
âcanât let goâ was goated. also âjoyâ was pretty good. i wasnât expecting a lot from this album. but it was surprisingly good. it was like the country equivalent of pop rock! not my usual genre of choice, but still enjoyable. the album cover was really pretty too (though that doesnât factor into my rating). 4/5!
4
Apr 15 2025
A Hard Day's Night
Beatles
âa hard dayâs nightâ was a part of our marching bandâs beatles medley so i liked it lmaooo. âif i fellâ was good too!! not much to say other than i enjoyed this! 4/5.

Apr 16 2025
Dub Housing
Pere Ubu
oh yeah this is peak alternative. driving instrumentals and lyrics that donât make sense. my jam. âthriller!â felt like an uncanny valley episode. more so than the others. but i kinda love it. i want to give it a 4/5 but i really donât think thatâs appropriate so iâll do 3/5.
3
Apr 17 2025
Highway to Hell
AC/DC
yeah you already know i like the title track. my guilty pleasure is also screamer hard rock and i appreciate how this album is inching towards that. âtouch too muchâ was pretty good as well. overall a solid album, would probably rate 4/5.
4
Apr 18 2025
Toys In The Attic
Aerosmith
yeah i like aerosmith (thank you rock n roller coaster). âwalk this wayâ is always a classic! âbig ten inch recordâ is clearly ahead of its time. âyou see me cryingâ was MAJESTIC. fun album. engaging listen. brought back good memories (thank you rock n roller coaster). 5/5.

Apr 19 2025
Out Of The Blue
Electric Light Orchestra
this is the type of album i needed to hear today. âturn to stoneâ was such a fun song. the instrumentals on this album are majestic. especially on âacross the borderâ. every song is just SO CUTE!! âbirmingham bluesâ def sampled rhapsody in blue (good thing). can you tell i liked the instrumentals? yeah probably a 5/5. really great.
5
Apr 20 2025
Scott 4
Scott Walker
opening brass line was goated. kinda zoned out for this one tbh. i remember thinking âoh, this is goodâ but not much else. no standouts but also nothing offensive to my ears. 3/5.
3
Apr 21 2025
Twelve Dreams Of Dr. Sardonicus
Spirit
âmr. skinâ was the first one i really vibed with (not to say the starting tracks werenât good). props to âspace childâ (a whole instrumental song!) everything else was okay. for some reason the album cover got my hopes up. 3/5.
3
Apr 22 2025
Stand!
Sly & The Family Stone
i just could not get behind this. i guess nothing was blatantly off but i just really did not vibe with the album. i canât even remember liking a single song. can still respect the art though. 2/5.
2
Apr 23 2025
Pictures At An Exhibition
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
actually in awe that they made a prog rock adaptation of pictures at an exhibition đ the nutcracker adaptation was also really good. this album felt inherently wrong but i liked it. it made me laugh! 4/5!

Apr 24 2025
James Brown Live At The Apollo
James Brown
Kinda jazzy. I donât really remember much about this album, good or bad. For that, it gets a 3/5.
3
Apr 25 2025
Reggatta De Blanc
The Police
yeah i mess with the police on occasion (thanks dad). âmessage in a bottleâ is always good. BUT âitâs alright for youâ might have soloed. âcontactâ was also REALLY good, very groovy. i like the bass. overall pretty solid. would give a 3.5/5 but that isnât possible so a 3/5.
3
Apr 26 2025
Pet Sounds
The Beach Boys
the beach boys are SO CUTESY!!!!! this album screams sunshine and rainbows and i am here for it. âwouldnât it be niceâ is a CLASSIC. this album is in apple musicâs 100 best albums for a reason. 4/5 but only because this isnât my usual style.

Apr 27 2025
Welcome To The Pleasuredome
Frankie Goes To Hollywood
wtf was âtagâ. also the opener did NOT need to be 13 minutes (the first 7 alone felt like eons). the instrumentals made me hopeful for MANY of the songs and nearly ALL disappointed me. mid but respectable. 2/5.
2
Apr 28 2025
At Newport 1960
Muddy Waters
pretty good i must say. didnât really take notes on this one (whoops) but i did like it. pretty jazzy! my head says 3/5 but my heart says 4/5. so iâll go with 4/5.
4
Apr 29 2025
The Score
Fugees
âready or notâ is really good. thatâs partially because i recognize it from samples. also âkilling me softlyâ is always PERFECT. i ascend every time i hear it. didnât realize it was from this album! everything was actually so fun! all in all a 4/5.

Apr 30 2025
The Seldom Seen Kid
Elbow
bro apple music might be onto something describing elbow as a cross between pink floyd and coldplay! (two top tier bands btw). âthe bones of youâ was my EXACT type of song. also âgrounds for divorceâ. and âthe loneliness of a tower crane driverâ has some INSANE chords. there were other songs i really enjoyed but i forgot to write those down. 5/5!
5
May 01 2025
My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts
Brian Eno
these were some goofy beats. if youâre familiar with the internet meme âdr. hanky spankyâ, know that these songs sounded like they were produced by him. there was maybe one song i liked (out of 18). mid would be generous. 1/5.
1
May 02 2025
Pretenders
Pretenders
it was okay at best. i donât really have much to say and didnât make note of anything in particular, good or bad. however, this does not get a 3/5 just because it was so mid that i zoned out. 2/5.
2
May 03 2025
Elvis Presley
Elvis Presley
of course i like âblue suede shoesâ (a popular classic), but the next track (âiâm counting on youâ) was arguably better imo, very sweet! the rest of the album was SO CUTE. shout out to the bass line. 3/5.

May 04 2025
Hot Buttered Soul
Isaac Hayes
âwalk on byâ was a MASTERPIECE. THE LYRICS??? THE INSTRUMENTALS. surprisingly WORKS as an 11-12 minute song. the closing guitar solo was excellent. the next two songs were good, not much else to say. âby the time i get to phoenixâ should be renamed to âby the time i finish my monologueâ because that was LONG. and mostly talking. however, i can respect the art on that one. overall, album was a solid 4/5.
4
May 05 2025
Phaedra
Tangerine Dream
lowkey kinda creepy. not really my vibe. didnât help that i listened in a dark room. there just isnât a lot going on. a shame, since this this was a pioneering album for electronic music. i respect it and how it may have shaped the electronic style but just cannot get behind it. 1/5
1
May 06 2025
Wild Is The Wind
Nina Simone
âwhat more can i sayâ was the first one i really liked, which is strange because i usually mess with jazz more than i did with this album. mid overall at best. 2/5.
2
May 07 2025
En-Tact
The Shamen
all i see are people hating in their reviews but i kinda like it. minimally. it was definitely slandered. would vibe at a party to this. 3/5.
3
May 08 2025
Rattus Norvegicus
The Stranglers
i actually really liked this. classic 70âs rock. not much else to say. reminded me of other artists i listen to. couldnât tell you which though. 4/5.

Amnesiac
Radiohead
this is the jazziest radiohead album! the opener (âpackt like sardines in a crushed tin boxâ) is one of the worse tracks on this album. it only goes uphill from there because the next song is âpyramid songâ â¤ď¸ i been on the hype train for this song before i even liked radiohead. if you like slow, kinda sad songs in the minor key please listen to this one. âpulk/pull revolving doorsâ SUCKS because of the weird voice changer stint they have going on. however. it is saved by âyou and whose army?â which has genuinely one of the best buildups in all of music history. this might even beat âpyramid songâ in my book. âi might be wrongâ is next upâŚ. and let me tell you that thom yorke is DEFINITELY not wrong. this song has a really great driving bass line, reminiscent of the home depot theme song. listen to this if you love home depot. also it has a really cute guitar and vocal outro. âknives outâ is great. couldnât really say why. just a masterpiece of a song, though thatâs probably more my music taste speaking than an objective appraisal of its musicality. HERE WE GOâŚ. because âmorning bell/amnesiacâ is next. this is the better âmorning bellâ (the other is on kid a). the backing vocals are so haunting and really support the dark lyrics. itâs creepy in the best way. itâs also slow and takes its time. i HIGHLY recommend this if you like your music on the more unsettling side. then, of course, we have âdollars and centsâ. i recently put myself onto this song when i finally did my full listen of amnesiac a few months ago. underrated for sure. it also has those really satisfying driving instrumentals. one of the jazzier pieces in my opinion. i like when everything goes slightly flat in the middle, a nice intentional choice from radiohead that makes you feel like something is off. the harmonies in this one also really make me happy. âhunting bearsâ is a good instrumental. doesnât particularly float my boat but itâs definitely respectable. âlike spinning platesâ also was not my favorite previously but listening again has changed my mind. itâs really pretty! âlife in a glasshouseâ is a peak closer. THIS is what jazz is about. there is in fact a clarinet in this song. also a plus. another fav. all in all this album is a masterpiece. not peak radiohead but still super solid. 5/5.

May 10 2025
Birth Of The Cool
Miles Davis
i love jazz! this is awesome. âmoon dreamsâ was probably my favorite. always appreciate a good instrumental album. 4/5.

May 11 2025
Justified
Justin Timberlake
gonna be honest this was the first i didnât completely finish but thatâs because i started it late and was lazy. it was good though! i love justin timberlake (i think he makes peak party music). i knew a few of these from the radio but others like âsenoritaâ were unheard of bangers. will finish last two songs later, though iâm sure they are fine at worst and good at best. 4/5.
4
May 12 2025
Sunshine Hit Me
The Bees
pretty decent. not super memorable. instrumentation was good! more of a background track to what i was doing tbh. didnât distract me at all (which doesnât bode well for my rating). 2/5.
2
May 13 2025
Seventeen Seconds
The Cure
BRO THE OPENER IS A PEAK INSTRUMENTAL. mad respect. âthreeâ was also really good. another instrumental-focused track. and âthe final soundâ right after that. everything else was good but not memorable. i couldnât help but think of âfriday iâm in loveâ (also by the cure) and that kinda ruined the vibe of the album BUT that is not their fault. 3/5.
3
May 14 2025
Henry's Dream
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
yeah this album was a fever dream. not bad but maybe a little too experimental/adventurous for my liking. 3/5.

May 15 2025
The Message
Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
i actually really vibed with this. very funky, very groovy. i forgot to take notes while listening but i do remember enjoying everything. âdreaminââ was the perfect r&b/soul song ngl. i appreciated its homage to stevie wonder. also, the last tune, âthe adventures of grandmaster flash on the wheels of steelâ was SO long and i loved it. the bass line was giving âanother one bites the dustâ by queen. apparently this was intentional because they full on sampled the EXACT instrumental (you know the one) from âanother one bites the dustâ around halfway through the song. i wish you couldâve seen my reaction because it went CRAZY. i really did like this. 4/5.
4
May 16 2025
So Much For The City
The Thrills
first things first⌠it said this album was UNAVAILABLE in my region which is a LIE (i found it no problem through search). so if this was supposed to be a deluxe version, my apologies. it was lowkey mid. i remember thinking one of the songs was good and that was it. harmonica threw me off perhaps. 2/5.
2
May 17 2025
Boston
Boston
yeah the first few songs were giving journey (a very good thing). âforeplay/long timeâ had a very apt title because the guitar solo during the intro was CRAZY good and lowkey built up to the bulk of the song. and then the closing guitar solo was ALSO crazy good. âsmokinââ was peak 60âs/70âs rock. overall really solid. 4/5.
4
May 18 2025
Alien Lanes
Guided By Voices
this album wasnât even mid. do you know how awful it is to listen to a plain, boring, 28 track album? it made it feel so much longer (despite being under 45 minutes). zero sense of cohesion. 1/5.
1
May 19 2025
Blue
Joni Mitchell
she reminded me of fiona apple but not as good. was kinda surprised this was on apple musicâs 100 best albums list but can also understand why it might be there. some songs were much better ballads than others, but no standouts. kinda boring if iâm being honest. wished i liked this more. 2/5.
2
May 20 2025
The Marshall Mathers LP
Eminem
âpublic service announcementâ is peak humor. âkill youâ has an insane beat and flow! also âstanâ somehow manages to balance rap and pop perfectly. like what do you mean thereâs an actual melody?? âslim shadyâ is always goated. âmarshall mathersâ had a good chorus and a great guitar solo. but then it led into the most UNCOMFORTABLE listening experience of my life bro. iykyk. âkimâ has an INSANE instrumental as well as an INSANE set of lyrics. really disturbing. a lot of these songs did cover other uncomfortable topics but i feel they were more of a social commentary. this one was also on apple musicâs top 100 albums list â and i agree!! would probably rate 5/5, but it gets a point taken off for how disgusting some of the lyrics were and how well some really violent stories were painted. 4/5.
4
May 21 2025
Foo Fighters
Foo Fighters
you can definitely tell dave grohl is the frontman because there are HEAVY nirvana influences (see âiâll stick aroundâ). i also really liked âalone + easy targetâ! the instrumentation was really well done and the chorus is super catchy (but not in an annoying earworm way). âfloatyâ was another standout and was the perfect rock ballad! âweenie beenieâ started getting into screamer rock (which i lowkey mess with). i am also gonna glaze the electric solo in âoh, georgeâ. HUGE fan of the electric guitar. so itâs no surprise that i loved âx-staticâ. cannot believe i havenât tried foo fighters before this. 5/5.
5
May 22 2025
Fulfillingness' First Finale
Stevie Wonder
stevie wonder does in fact have peak album art. âsmile pleaseâ is so PERFECT. itâs so laid back and is so cute! the lyrics on this album are so well written and have a super cool religious undertone and lowkey make me really joyous. âtoo shy to sayâ has a really great chord progression and was really pretty. âyou havenât done nothinââ has a really good brass line and is SUPER groovy (thank you 70âs!). however, âthey wonât go when i goâ might be my favorite song on this album. i love minor keys!! all in all a great album. only some non-bangers (though this is a loose term). 4/5.
4
May 23 2025
Ananda Shankar
Ananda Shankar
canât even lie i messed with these sitar rock tunes. hugeeeee fan of the sitar. i really liked the cover of âlight my fireâ. i think this is a super cool intersection of genres! he SHREDS in âmetamorphosisâ. lowkey an easy 4/5.
4
May 24 2025
Led Zeppelin IV
Led Zeppelin
surprisingly mid. a lot of the songs blended together until âstairway to heavenâ. which, granted, is a really good song. will relisten at some point because i got a lot of hate from friends with my take on this album. 2/5 for now.
2
May 25 2025
Now I Got Worry
The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
exceptionally okay. some stuff was flat-out weird, some was pretty vibey. nothing really stood out, and the album could have definitely been shorter. 2/5 because i just did not care for it. didnât suck though.

May 26 2025
Colour By Numbers
Culture Club
so fun! i recognize the lead singer from somewhere and i just CANNOT tell. so many different genres fused together! i definitely recognized âkarma chameleonâ but some other songs also felt familiar. very vibey, very groovy. 4/5.

May 27 2025
Achtung Baby
U2
overall a stronger start (thank you âzoo stationâ) than that of the other u2 album i reviewed (joshua tree). âoneâ brings me back to when my parents would glaze u2 and try to put me on. i was wrong for not listening! âuntil the end of the worldâ has a GREAT bass line and some INSANE lyrics. probably my favorite track. however, the next track, âwhoâs gonna ride your wild horsesâ was giving KISS THE GIRL from the little mermaid with all those âsha la laâsâ. âthe flyâ mixes genres (a bit of rap, a bit of rock, a bit of pop) really well. i also enjoyed this track more so than the others. âmysterious waysâ is also a classic (which i was already familiar with). âacrobatâ has some SICK instrumentals. âlove is blindnessâ is a really sultry closer and is akin to a tango (which i love). probably my second favorite track! overall, this album is SUPER respectable and had some bangers, even if i wasnât the biggest fan of some of the other tracks. would still rate 5/5.
5
May 28 2025
My Generation
The Who
this is my second who album (donât remember much about the first). very 60âs (i wonder why!) âi donât mindâ had such a good flow to it. the rest was all kinda the same. however⌠thatâs not a bad thing on this album. i actually kinda liked it. very easy listen, some very fun tunes. 4/5.
4
May 29 2025
The Nightfly
Donald Fagen
pretty okay. super relaxing but nothing special. the instrumentation is where this album shines. very jazzy. you can see how this may have influenced the development of yacht rock as a genre for sure. the one standout on this album is âmaxineâ. that was PEAK. everything else was meh. my dad probably would have liked this more than i did. 3/5.
3
May 30 2025
Made In Japan
Deep Purple
very metallica-esque. âchild in timeâ was SICK. 12 minutes of glory. love when the lead SHREDS. there is genuinely nothing better. this is why i love hard rock. âsmoke on the waterâ is a stands tune classic and a super fun tune overall. âthe muleâ has the CRAZIEST drum solo. super impressive. one of the performances had a call and response between the lead guitar and vocalist which was a lot of fun to follow. the rest i didnât take any notes on but they were similarly interesting. 5/5.
5
May 31 2025
Exile On Main Street
The Rolling Stones
kinda forgettable tbh. perhaps i wasnât paying enough attention to fully grasp the album. it was okay. would probably rate a 3/5 since i didnât dislike any of it.

Joan Armatrading
Joan Armatrading
also just okay. she had a really interesting voice and my dad brought up that she sounded like cher which is true. i liked her last song and appreciated the jazz influence on her (mostly pop) album. 3/5.

def taylorâs best album. usually dislike her stuff but i liked/sang along to most of the tunes on this album. âwildest dreamsâ might be my favorite. lots of good memories associated with the songs on these album. 5/5!

Never Mind The Bollocks, Hereâs The Sex Pistols
Sex Pistols
it was eh. i prefer britpop/britrock so it was an easy listen. otherwise unmemorable. i see why they had like 2 studio albums (and that was it). 2/5.

the intro threw me off BUT the second track was actually good. iâm pretty sure this is icelandic alternative which is a subgenre i have yet to listen to! was surprisingly not bad. VERY similar instrumentation to artists like massive attack, portishead, etc. (all artists i listen to btw). i wish i could have understood the lyrics so i could grasp the meaning of the songs because the instrumentation was SO good (but that will not affect my rating since that canât be controlled)! 4/5.

also eh. i was disinterested enough to not take any notes. nothing sounded bad or poorly made to me so iâll give it a 3/5.

Aerosmith
yeah i was excited to get this one. âback in the saddleâ is a great opener. ârats in the cellarâ had GREAT instrumentals. the rest was all very similar BUT i really REALLY vibed with it. 4/5!

Cloud Nine
The Temptations
i really liked this! since iâm catching up iâm not spending too much time reviewing/taking notes on my albums. however, i knew after the opener that this would be a great set of tracks. super groovy and funky. peak for sure. 5/5.

Court And Spark
Joni Mitchell
ngl mid. iâm not a huge fan of her voice. she feels like an artist i SHOULD like but i just donât. was gonna give this a 2/5. however, the last track (âtwistedâ) SAVED IT. the singular good song on this album. it was so jazzy and tbh fit her voice better than any other song. might even be download worthy. weâll see. just because of the masterpiece of a last song this album gets 3/5.

The Man Machine
Kraftwerk
okay when i first got this album i was unsure to actually try it, especially after playing a bit of the first song. however, once i sat down and actually listened, i kinda liked it. would i go out of my way to listen? no. did i jam along? yes. every song felt unique yet the album itself was cohesive. definitely not my usual style but i canât hate. 4/5.

McCartney
Paul McCartney
not a beatles fan but mccartney gets a pass. standouts were âsingalong junkâ and âkreen-akroreâ, the latter of which was lowkey a MASTERPIECE. the instrumentals on this album were so good. surprisingly enjoyable. would probably get a 5/5.

School's Out
Alice Cooper
yes this was great. one of the reasons i love rock is the instrumentals (and you know how bad i will glaze good instrumentation). whatâs more is this is VERY experimental so beyond the baseline rock feel to the songs this album pays tribute to genres such as classical, musical theater, jazz, etc. for example âluney tuneâ ended with an INSANE string outro (95% sure it was the violin but iâm not well versed in strings). âgutter cat vs. the jetsâ i believe is intended to reference west side story but iâm not 100% sure. i liked it anyways. âblue turkâ is SO jazzy. all these songs tell a story which i appreciate. 5/5.

Surf's Up
The Beach Boys
this album was really good. this band really does have more depth than some of their happy-go-lucky songs would suggest. a stand out is âdisney girlsâ which is such a cute song. other than that i forgot what i was gonna say because i meant to write this like 5 days ago. whoops! still a 5/5.

Synchronicity
The Police
did not expect tbe opening synth. âmotherâ was SO GOOD. my dad glazed this album and i kinda get why. âevery breath you takeâ is of course a classic. i also think i liked âsynchronicity iiâ better than synchronicity iâ. iâve lowkey been on a streak of good albums so donât hate me for my 4th 5/5 in a row.

pretty good jazz pop fusion. i can actually hear how parisian culture influenced this album. no notes really. still good. probably a 4/5.

Vulgar Display Of Power
Pantera
sexy bass! ESPECIALLY in âa new levelâ. it is a shame that the vocals are lacking because the instrumentation is so scrumptious. âwalkâ lacked any sort of vocal agility or capability which unfortunately ruined the song (even the insane lead solo couldnât save it). âthis loveâ feels SO MUCH like a cross between nirvana and nin. furthermore âriseâ really felt similar to âmarch of the pigsâ by nin. which i mess with. the tempo changes in âlive in a holeâ are really satisfying. really good overall (except for âwalkâ). still, i think everything else is so good that it negates how bad walk was. 5/5.

Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space
Spiritualized
the opening/title track is really beautiful. i adore how it samples âcanât help falling in loveâ. the next track, âcome togetherâ is SO in line with my music tastes itâs not even funny. it was jazzy and really reminded me of the tracks on radioheadâs amnesiac. âelectricityâ starts to dabble in rock and i mess with it. âbroken heartâ has an AMAZING brass background (shout out to the french horn). this might be my favorite track. âno god only religionâ is a close second. pure instrumental tracks (when theyâre good (like this one)) make an album really strong imo. âcop shoot copâ was 14 minutes and i loved every second. a really great, really complex closer. iâm bamboozled at how good this album is. 5/5.

This Nationâs Saving Grace
The Fall
did not finish. got (almost) an hour in and did NOT mess with it (there was over an hour left). decided it wasnât worth my time. was just okay at best, maybe disc 2 would have been better. but i guess iâll never know. 2/5.

Are You Experienced
Jimi Hendrix
this was ORIGINALLY a 3/5. obviously solid guitar work (it IS jimi hendrix after all) but i personally prefer harder rock. yes, my original rating was kinda skewed by my tastes. i liked âpurple hazeâ, âfoxey ladyâ, and âstone freeâ the best. HOWEVER, my rating was bumped up last minute because there was a âtrackâ (aka bonus footage) that went behind the scenes and explained studio works, recording, etc. it was SO interesting. so instead of a 3/5, i give this album a 4/5.

Basket of Light
Pentangle
also just okay. i REALLY liked âlyke-wake dirgeâ, felt very religiously motivated and reminded me of a solid choral piece. everything else was okay. appreciated the use of lesser known instruments such as the sitar. very folky. 3/5.

Marvin Gaye
âsave the childrenâ is HAUNTINGLY beautiful. even though the rest didnât really catch my eye, so to speak, i did mess with this album. very chill and laid back, yet it made an important statement. i can definitely see why this is in apple musicâs top 100 albums. 4/5.

Come Find Yourself
Fun Lovin' Criminals
really innovative for rap. the vocals were definitely giving hip-hop but the instrumentals drew from a bunch of different genres outside of rap. really cool mix of songs. i liked the scooby snacks reference. probably a 4/5.

Suzanne Vega
thought iâd like this more since i really mess with âtomâs dinerâ. alas, that song is not on this album, and i did not mess with those that WERE on the album. very ethereal, very folk-y. not my style though. 2/5.

Back to Basics
Christina Aguilera
she is so talented. take me back to when pop stars could actually sing! the harmonies on âainât no other manâ were SO good. also she is RIFFING. âstill dirrtyâ (yes, 2 râs) has an AWESOME bari sax line. itâs SO groovy. âthank youâ is honestly so cute bc itâs dedicated to fans and has messages from said fans. they talk about like how her music has helped them (which is really awesome, and thereâs one of my all time favorite songs on this album that i think is another one of those super down-to-earth/helpful songs). âenter the circusâ is a CRAZY interlude and a great intro to disc 2. this is followed up by âwelcomeâ which is SO cinematic. then i want to touch on the NEXT song, âcandymanâ, which pays homage to the 50âs/60âs doo-wop era and has a super sick walking bass line. next is ânasty naughty boyâ which has a NASTYYY brass line. itâs the best, most sultry jazz iâve EVER heard. (can you tell i like disc 2 more). the last song i want to talk about is âhurtâ (this is the aforementioned favorite) which is HEARTBREAKING yet sooooo powerful. if you listen to any please listen to this one. disc one gets a 4/5, disc 2 gets a 5/5. since disc 2 was INSANE i will round up instead of down. 5/5.

I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You
Aretha Franklin
a lot of the songs could have been longer ngl (this is a good thing btw). i hate to glaze ârespectâ since it is the most mainstream track BUT itâs popular for a reason. easily her catchiest and most vocally impressive track. aretha franklin is just a beast. 5/5.

A Wizard, A True Star
Todd Rundgren
REALLY experimental and all over the place but somehow still cohesive. i love prog rock! the transitions between songs were seamless and there were so many bangers. standouts include âzen archerâ and âiâm so proud/ooh baby baby/la la means i love you/cool jerkâ (this one was a masterpiece ngl). didnât feel like an hour bc it was so enjoyable to listen to. 5/5.

taylor surprised me. again. i used to consider myself firmly in the âher new music sucksâ camp but now i understand it. would i listen to her in my free time? no. can i appreciate that she makes good music? yes! i recognized most of these and really REALLY liked âno body, no crimeâ. probably a 5/5.

Peace Sells...But Who's Buying
Megadeth
literally perfect. holy drums. this was peak heavy metal. the instrumentals were GENUINELY insane. if you try to say any other style of music is more technically impressive than metal i wonât hear you out. this is one of those albums where the vocals really donât matter. i had a lot of fun listening to this one. probably gonna download the entire album (which is a feat for any album on this list). easy 5/5.

Jane's Addiction
really good as well. i knew âbeen caught stealingâ so was excited for the rest â and i wasnât let down. âof courseâ was SO GOOD. IT WAS SO GOOD. that alone made the album worth it. however, i think this still gets a 4/5.

Screamadelica
Primal Scream
REALLY GOOD. âmovinâ on upâ is a GREAT opener and i THINK it reminds me of george michael (maybe âfaithâ)? another stand out is âdonât fight it, feel itâ which definitely is similar to âfunky townâ. all in all a pretty diverse, yet cohesive album. did not feel like an hour. 5/5.

Fragile
Yes
SO GOOD. peak prog rock. i liked how the second track quoted brahms. seemed to draw on religious motifs which was cool and gave the album a very themed feel. âheart of the sunriseâ is a GREAT closer. itâs like if pink floyd did their version of âparanoid androidâ. i love a good all over the place song. 5/5.

Jul 28 2025
Hounds Of Love
Kate Bush
i lowkey donât really like kate bush⌠sorry not sorry! ârunning up that hillâ isnât bad but it is definitely overplayed. the first half of the album was mid at best and bad at worst. however, the second half got marginally better. âjig of lifeâ is an irish masterpiece. the next track, âhello earthâ was REALLY cool. so haunting. i liked the choral aspect. i thought this album would end on a good note. alas, the last song let me down. the two good songs on this album were not good enough to save this from a 2/5.

Jul 29 2025
OK Computer
Radiohead
âairbagâ is a good opener but probably my least favorite track on this album (not counting âfitter happierâ since thatâs an interlude). especially since it is followed by âparanoid androidâ which puts every other song on this album to shame (relatively speaking). there is SO much creative liberty being taken with this song and i love how it feels like 3 different songs in 1. i love when it breaks into 7/4 time AND there is so much to dissect beyond that with respect to the music theory behind this song. the also electric guitar SHREDS this whole song so massive respect. probably my 2nd favorite radiohead song of all time. âsubterranean homesick alienâ really does a great job with utilizing electronic aspects to convey that otherworldly feel. itâs a really pretty song too. âexit music (for a film)â was one of my big introductions to radiohead and probably sits in my top 5 as well IF NOT my top 3. itâs very melancholy and gives me a really nice impending sense of doom which is what i love in a song. the drum break into the climax is SO satisfying (iykyk). i love the storytelling with this one too. even if you donât really listen to radiohead you probably know âlet downâ from tiktok/reels edits! this is probably the prettiest track on this album. the final verse and chorus is HEARTBREAKING and usually makes me cry (sorry not sorry). if you listen to any of these PLEASE listen to this one because it is definitely a people pleaser. âkarma policeâ is one of the more popular ones but not for me. itâs good but not great imo. âfitter happierâ is lowkey REALLY good for an interlude⌠but at the end of the day, itâs an interlude and iâm not gonna go out of my way to listen to it. a really interesting commentary on society though. speaking of social commentary⌠the next song, âelectioneeringâ is a very clear allegory for politics. i also really like this song, itâs upbeat and a LOT of fun. love the instrumentals on this one as well as thomâs falsetto. âclimbing up the wallsâ is DEFINITELY the creepiest tune on this list. if youâve seen yellowjackets thereâs a really impactful scene set to this song and i canât listen without getting reminded of that. regardless, a great tune which i adore. âno surprisesâ is probably somewhere in the middle of my ranking of tracks on this album MOSTLY because of the final verse/chorus. a bit repetitive but thatâs okay. on the contrary, i REALLY like âluckyâ (guaranteed sleeper hit). simultaneously hopeful with a tinge of âsomethingâs wrongâ. peak. now for the closer: âthe touristâ. a super pretty ballad which contrasts the rest of the album and, in my opinion, ends the album perfectly. i didnât like this one at first and now itâs one of my top 3 on this album. all in all, this album is currently a no-skip for me (which is rare) and has been a near no-skip since before i really got into radiohead (so iâm fairly unbiased). i also recommend as an intro album to this group. 5/5.
